Umm, actually you're supposed to begin a new word with the last letter of the previous word. So technically it should be something that starts with 'S' not 'D' but I'll go with this anyway.

Yeah, shiritori is a japanese word game where you have to make a word starting with the last syllable of the previous word. Since their alphabet is based on syllables, what we're doing here amounts to the same thing in English. Though in shiritori, someone loses when they use a word ending with "n" (which is its own syllable)

EDIT: I'm changing the word, since "Z" is an impossible letter.
