When it came to rational thought and the like, Shae would've normally been head and shoulders above the poor, distressed Aster-- but with cold steel to her throat and the hot flash of what seemed like electic fireworks suddenly bringing even more chaos onto the scene, she was finding it nearly impossible to stay calm. In fact, she was so frantic inside that even breathing properly felt impossible.
There was just too much going on, too much noise, too much danger, too many bodies and uncertain factors and OH GOD THAT BUZZING LIGHT SHE COULDN'T SEE, COULDN'T SEE, NEEDED DESPERATELY TO TO REGAIN HER VISION--
And she heard a short strangled sound amidst the yelling-- yes, a sound-- and wasn't even sure if it had even come from within or without herself. There were hollers of panic, shrieks of rage, hisses, snarls, ROARING... It was a mad orchestra and Jade seemed to be conducting it all in some sick parody of order.
But one thing was for certain, at least; there was no one calm in the fray anymore. Yossarian, while still reeling from the blow, had vaguely registered some of the pressure lifting off him as one of his captors streaked off with their hood on fire, and didn't waste a split second forcing all of his strength into one big blind LURCH of rage, somehow managing to get his hand over to his sword and draw it as he staggered upright.
He could hardly see, but the shadows and shapes were enough. One massive looking fellow (a good seven feet tall, WHATEVER it was) howled and tried to come at him, but was met with a blade to the chest... region, somewhere, sending it recoiling and falling back.
AT LAST THEY WERE GETTING SOME DAMN GROUND IN THE BATTLE
... But that didn't mean it would be easy and it sure as hell wasn't entirely done yet, either, with all but one and a half (Yossarian really didn't count as a whole) bodies incapacitated and blind panic imminent.
Shae had felt the metal nick her under the jaw (and jerked back out of reflex, which might've ultimately saved her) when her own 'captor' was forced to abandon his quarry, only to get the breath knocked out of her by a hard shove in the chest-- one that knocked the breath (and balance) right out of her. Hanna had already beaten her to the ground, though, apparently having decided it best to lie still and play dead until the mess was over.
Even Del seemed incapacitated where it had fallen, having crashed into the face of some poor unfortunate bandit (and succeeded to topple them, impressively enough) only to get itself thrown aside and stepped on.

It was now obvious the reason why the good doctor wore gloves, calmly grabbing up his STILL SPARKING weapon to throw himself back into the fray as well, stepping in to take care ofthe one who had been careless enough to be holding on to Aster before sighing and looking out to the pair who were trying to make off with Fabio.
He COULD have shouted some sort of a warning to the poor fellows, but it seemed that Jade was going to leave Yossarian with the party he could at least VAGUELY see, rather than go "GO OUT IN THE DARK YOU CAN'T SEE IN EVEN WHEN YOUR EYES WORK' at him. How thoughtful.
At least for Yossarian.
Kanda was a LOT less thrilled by it all, frowning immensely as he laid out in a PATHETIC PILE OF GIMP (fjfjasdl), frowning into the dirt. Hopefully he could get his arm fixed...soonish?
Something close to soonish?
fasdjkl;f. WHatever.
Annnd Aster could play dead too (not very hard, she'd been nicked a little closer than she would have liked in the first place), her tail curled around one of her legs and forcing herself NOT to whine at the DISLOCATED ARM.
AUUUGH IT HUUURRRTT ;AA;.
NOT WHINING, NOT WHINING.
IS IT OVER YET? DO WE NEED TO GET PATCHED UP?

And thus, with a last thrust of his blade and a scream from those bandits still vaguely intact, the brawl was done. Bodies seemed to litter the sand like heavy, bloodied trash in the sudden stillness, their tattered cloaks flapping gently as a cold breeze rushed by... and in the midst of it all, Yossarian stood there, surveying it, in silence.
His breath was heavy and ragged and, to be perfectly honest, he was still severely blinded from whatever that madman had whipped out... but at least he was still standing: a luxury none of his companions could share.
God, how on earth could one lowly group of ruffians do them in like this? And was his head actually bleeding from that stupid... what had it been-- a boomerang?
"Dammit," he hissed under his (ragged) breath, finally able to step over and through the mess to return to the destroyed campfire and those around it. Clearly, Kanda was bashed and bloodied-- and he even took a few moments to more or less drag the latter swordsman into a more upright sitting position (hey, he did have some compassion for ALL his comrades) to try and get a brief look at... An arm and a leg mangled by some kind of weapons, huh? Well, it didn't look like it'd kill him. "You can subsist for five more minutes with that, can't you?"
Of course he could, and Yossarian already knew it, which meant he could go on to the next one in line-- Aster, who was pretty obviously in distress for SOME reason or another.
"... Hey." He was a fair bit gentler this time, too, crouching down as his knees groaned and putting a light hand on your shoulder. "Are you able to sit up? Do you feel you're injured?..."
He wasn't stupid enough to think she was fine, but with no obvious signs of much (from THAT angle, anyway), he couldn't be too sure what was safe to touch and what wasn't, for fear of getting her SCREAMING over something dire.
With things finally quieted (almost eerily so), Shae's instincts to get up had finally kicked in, even while her breath was still shaky and her chest was painfully tight, gingerly flexing and unflexing her hands behind her until she felt the rope they'd been tied with (a rough, sloppy, unfortunate knot) give out. She might've been shaking and a little dizzy, but that wasn't about to stop her. Oh no... there were far more important things to deal with, like getting her eyes to stop seeing stars and trying to figure out what had just happened.
Mister Yossarian was crouched by Aster, probably tending to her... and Sir was sitting up, but... oh god, he looked absolutely terrible! Rational thought swiftly gave out beneath the crushing wait of sick panic when she realized that much, and it was all she could do not to fall apart even more as the halfbreed scrambled to grab a bag she knew had to have something first-aid related in it.
... Nevermind the fact that she hadn't even seen where Del had fallen yet, or realized that Hanna hadn't stopped her little act when the dust cleared.
What a horrible mess this was turning out to be already.

Once Jade had returned, he gingerly kicked at a couple of the bodies that were hanging around before tucking his weapon back away into the state it had been stashed in before, then bending down to heave Hanna up with an arm around his shoulders.
"Alllrighty, time to get up."
fjalskfjds. Kanda just leered back at Yossarian for the question, before he settled in to just frown and stare at his limbs. How hilariously pathetic, no? He definitely wouldn't be walking for a day or so. But it seemed that SOMEBODY had reacted immediately to his sorry state of being, frowning momentarily, before sighing and settling in for some babying.
It was about time he'd actually submitted to such a thing.
"I'm not going to bleed out anytime soon, so don't worry too much.." he said, calling after Shae and then sighing.
WOE WAS HIS BODY.
He'd hate himself once he could FEEL his limbs.
Aster, upon the more 'ginger' treatment from Yossarian, let out a whine before she sat up, pushing herself up with her 'good' arm. Well, she could have been in a worse condition, even by her own standards.
"I-" she coughed a bit, before rubbing at the very shallow slice of her neck. Nngh, she was bleeding, but not profusely enough to cause her own death. This was good. "I'm ...decent. Give or take needing to clean this.." she pointed to her neck, "up and my arm was yanked out of it's socket...."
AGAIN.
She then gave her better half a rather pathetic look. "Are you alright?"

Well, the way she was moving definitely suggested something wrong with that one arm, and if Yossarian had any lingering hesitance about addressing it, those promptly up and died at her admittance. Yanked out of the socket, huh... That could've been a helluva lot worse, but it was still far from decent.
"I'm fine," he'd told her a bit too quickly-- not really a lie though-- and surveyed her arm more closely as his vision slowly returned to him. "Well... let's get it back in place while it's still fresh, then." This felt like some kind of horrible deja vu, but at least he knew how to handle it, and promptly reached for her poor, soon to be even more offended joint.
"Try not to clench your jaw," was all he offered by way of a warning, too, before it was time for that god-awful hard WRENCH back into place.
... Really, he would've been gentler if he could, but that would've taken longer and probably hurt more-- like trying to rip off a bandaid slowly instead of taking it in one hard yank.
Still, the two of them had actually both gotten off pretty easily in the big scheme of things-- a nick, a twisted arm and a clobbering over the head were small beans compared to, say, knife wounds in an arm and bullet wounds in a leg... which poor Kanda had gotten stuck with thanks to his own mauling. Sure, he'd tried to assure Shae that he'd not be dropping over anytime soon, and in her logic brain, she certainly believed him... but that didn't help her feel any less frantic, digging through luggage with shaking hands until she'd finally found her own first aid kit (she'd thrown one in by her own design) to drag ov--
... And on the way she found Del, its wing broken and lens cracked horribly, twitching softly in the sand. Sure, robots couldn't bleed, but her heart still gave a sick, fluttery lurch at the little golem's state, cradling it in one hand with the tackle box in the other.
"I-I know, Sir..." She didn't even remember to call him by name, seated at his side and flipping the vessel open to see what was inside. Of course there was a bottle to flush everything out with, and the age-old needles and thread and bandages... everything flesh wounds needed to get patched up, right? "Ah... do you know what weapons they were using?..."
And how bad they got you?
But what of Hanna, in the meanwhile? Always so composed and crafty, surely, she would drop the act and perk back up once the haze of adrenaline wore off, right?
... Except that she hadn't even stirred in any coherent way when Jade finally hoisted her up, but rather, stiffened up suddenly and proceeded to start hacking her lungs up, sounding very much like someone who'd swallowed water the wrong way-- ... or gotten the hell knocked out of their insides, which was probably more appropriate.
She'd started to say something too, apparently... though it got cut off by one hard, wet cough and digressed to a dull groan before the sentence was over, the only perceptible words being something along the lines of "what happened?"... ish.
But even therapists had their moments here and there, right?

Jade was ever the GENTLEMAN with getting Hanna back into a position of comfort, more or less, before sighing and going about bustling for a kettle and part of their fresh water reserve, starting up a new fire before getting about boiling him some water.
"I think it's time for tea.." Or something. Huh, funny 'recuperating' stuff to yank out, but at least it made for..y'know... fire for everybody to SEE each other by, at the very least. Ah ha ha.
THERE, NOW EVERYBODY LOOKED... kinda crappy, actually. And there were dead things in their camp.
"Can't have these laying about." Jade mumbled retrieving the parts to toss out of their little shelter. AH HA HA HA HA.
Perhaps a warning to others? Certainly would proove effective.
adfjsdlf;hasdlf;jadsfkl!!!!! Aster's tailpuff was VERY obvious as her arm was, once again, jammed back into place. But she'd at least been good enough to not immediately tense up until it was back into it's place. THen she just whine and sulked and leaned against Yossarian to pout.
SHE HAD AN OUCH.
;A;
And she'd hopefully clot up soon. THat would be nice. Very nice. Definitely not deep enough to require any special attention. "w-what were those big things?"
Kanda just sighed and allowed for the doting, drumming his fingers on the ground and generally.. ...
being a patient, he guessed. "A knife of some sort and.. a gun. THat's all I can say. They got me pretty quickly."

Certainly, no one would protest having a fire again-- especially with their bodies inevitably doused in cold sweat and making the night even colder still. Hanna certainly had her share of it, looking rather shaken and scrubbing the perspiration blearily from her temples once she'd settled. Her thoughts and body all just felt in some dreadful flutter-- a feeling she certainly didn't like in the slightest...
But there was nothing she could do about it sans force a steadying, raspy breath every few seconds, ears all but hanging on either side of her face, and staring bleakly into the newly kindled flames.
Surely, it couldn't have just been the shell shock of the experience, right?... She'd been around, seen her share of grief, suffered a good few close calls, but...
The therapist coughed into her sleeve and sighed quietly. Tea just kept sounding better and better.
As for Yossarian, he just let Jade go about that business too, lamely tending to Aster in the meanwhile (which wasn't that extensive, really), by stealing a clean cloth and some antiseptic from Shae to (GENTLY) scrub off his companion's neck. After that, of course, he sat down discretely gave himself the same treatment, what with the back of his head being so nice and crusted over...
God, just touching it gave him a hell of a migraine. He hated projectile weapons terribly.
But having the woman leaning on him was just fine and dandy; it was certainly better than leaving her her to fret and tremble and mope by her lonesome, after all... and besides, maybe in some guilty, stupid, ridiculously un-masculine way, he could use the 'comfort' of it, too.
He was tired.... So... very... tired. Of everything. This fighting, this catastrophe, this extra company...
Shae couldn't deny the same feelings. She was worn out, strung out, and, quite frankly, it was all she could do to will that her hands stopped shaking while she worked-- for his sake more than anything-- on patching those horrible, ghastly, would-be-fatal-or-totally-incapacitating-to-anyone-else wounds. Del had been tucked in her pocket, perhaps to keep safe, or simply to be out of sight. It was hard to tell.
She was no expert medic, of course, but she knew enough, and disinfected, cleaned, and closed both wounds as best she could with a kind of forced, mechanical rhythm. Hell, the little halfbreed had barely even glanced up at his face throughout the whole procedure, and only seemed to remember to breathe after the last linens had been tied up and pinned.
"... I-is... that good enough, Sir?" she finally spoke up, still quiet, and hollow. "Do you have any other wounds?..."

Well, Tea was perfectly in order once the water had started to boil, digging up some clean cups (As unfortunately Jade wasn't going to show off his memorization of who had which cup) to divvy out tea leaves for all parties -- tea would be better than coffee in this instance and leave them to steep. Along with another 'special' addition on Jade's part (WAS HE POISONING THE TEA??) with a substance that Kanda recognized very well.
YEP, TIME FOR A LITTLE HELP-ALONG MEDICATING.
AH HA HA. Well, sans his own cup -- he didn't need to addict himself to something he didn't need.
"Tea's on~" he chimed, ever so chipper despite what had JUST HAPPENED WHAT IN THE HELLZ MAN? Then, being ever such the gentleman, he offered one of the cups to Hanna.
"Well, that was a rough first night, now wasn't it?" Sipsip.
And Aster was nice enough to not overly fuss and worry about him, as he had made a point of going 'I R OKAYZ' and was going to respect just that. So there!
YEAH, THERE. D8<<< Okay, so she was more ';A;prrprprrrprrprr' than anything else, up and at-em to retrieve the tea (albeit a little more lamely with her relocated arm.. owowowoww;A; But it wouldn't get better if she didn't use it.. or so she could hear Yossarian saying), before returning to Yossarian's side to offer him a cup of the tea.
Yeah, neither of them were tea drinkers, but it would be better to NOT keep her up and fussing like a child all night.
Well, Kanda could appreciate the basics. It wasn't like he needed open heart surgery or something, so he just bit back any hissing that came from the treatment (as the shock was wearing off and his body was going 'OI, THAT HURTS D8<' at him), and sighing deeply.
About time the tables were turned for who was nursing who. Ako, on the other hand, was chittering lamely from his spot, having been flung amongst the bags and relatively alright.. give or take it's inability to fly straight due to a bent wing.
This earned summoning from Jade, who had no qualms with starting to straighten things out.
"The only other wounds I have are to my pride." he answered, lifting his patched arm testingly before setting it down again and frowning at the tea. JADE, YOU PUT IT OUT OF REACH ON PURPOSE, DIDN'T YOU?
D8<
"Thank you."

Aaah, the mysterious elixir of life and healaga crystals they all so adored! Naturally Hanna, too, recognized what the tea had been spiked with (despite her vision being so poor now in the dark), and it only made accepting the drink that much more pleasant in her mind, muttering her quiet thanks and even smiling blearily as she took it in both hands.
The warmth it radiated was so very pleasant, and oh, what a delightfully calming taste, too...
"Rough... is certainly one way of putting it, I'd say," she finally responded once her throat had been loosened up. "... But hopefully all of that is behind us... for now, anyway."
Even she couldn't have dealt with much more-- and it showed all over her pale, practically white-washed face, too. She was worn in more ways than one; sleep would certainly be a welcome comfort... Hell, she was already trying to pass out sitting up, it seemed like.
To be perfectly honest, Yossarian would've preferred that Aster not use the affronted arm for a day or two (freshly dislocated joints were weak and prone to slip again, he knew from rather... unfortunate experiences), but what was done was done, and he didn't even comment on it. There was no need, after all. They were all exhausted enough.
The tea had a suspicious sweetness to it, but at least he's kind of SEEN what went into it and... well, if the therapist herself drank it, it couldn't be entirely deadly.
Maybe that strange brew would even help to dull his throbbing headache a little... though he'd probably still not be enjoying a wink of sleep for the rest of the night regardless.
No, as one of the least battered parties remaining, it'd be his job to keep watch and make sure nothing ELSE went disastrously wrong.
"R-right, right..."
... As for Shae, she, too, had taken her glass (as expected) without complaint, and even been kind enough to oh-so-discretely reach that extra distance for making Kanda's easier to get ahold of, too. Certainly the babying would do nothing for his ego... but it might spare him a bit of pain in the end and, behind those hazy eyes, she was already shouldering enough guilt from realization of it as-was.
Wounds like that could've easily ended her, but how he managed to cope with barely a hiss or a groan was just beyond comprehension.
She was as tired and weary and queasy as any of them... but she didn't have any rights to weak out and rest before he did. No, definitely not.
So she'd... probably keep Mister Yossarian company when the night wound down.

Well, she still could use it from the elbow DOWN to prevent muscle weakness (or whatever), and once she'd finished off her tea, Aster had been FAR too happy to purr, melt and pretty much fuse with Yossarian's shoulder, already right back into her happy little dreamland.
Prrprrprrprrprrrr. Prrprrprr. Prrrr. Prrprrprrrr. Zzzzzz. <3.
Hey, she was happy in her own little way, so perhaps THAT meant she'd be getting her some sleep that night. That would be fantastic, no? PRRPRRPRRRR!!! Or something like that.
She wouldn't be up fussing all night was the big thing. Which meant Yossarian wouldn't have to be distracted by her.. and her whining and her fussing and her complaining.. and her WOEWASSHEEEEEE.
Huh. HOW ODD. But perhaps good for all parties involved?
Jade frowned a bit at how doze-y Hanna was, but offerred her a shoulder, if she was so inclined to sleep while sitting up. "I do think you'd be better suited to lay down while doing that." he commented, chuckling a bit.
"But only after finishing your tea."
Easy, he would be hissing and spitting about it discreetly allllll out of earshot before again pretending he was PERFECTLYFINEAFTERALLHEWASSUPERMANNNNDUNDUNDUUUUUNNN.
Or something like that. Ah ha ha.
However, it seemed that his state of being would also mean he was grounded into being....the baby. Well damn. He'd be up all night pretending to sleep (how..ironic). But alas.....
A few sips of the tea earned a yawn on his part (okay, perhaps he WAS a little shot... no pun intended) before he leaned back in his spot and frowned a bit. "Well, I would say that us working as your 'protectors' sort of turned to bite us in the face."
Jade smiled innocently. "I have no clue what you mean~"

He could even hear her drifting off, knowing the sound of that purr as it slowly faded out and feeling a familiar weight becoming less resistant against his shoulder. Asteria Georgelas was most definitely out for the count, and he... he was glued in place by default, but that didn't mean he was completely out for the count, either!
No, so long as his ears worked and he could fend off that throbbing migraine (which the tea had helped a bit, regardless of whether or not he wanted to admit it), he'd stay up and keep on listening for trouble.
... Because he'd be damned if anyone else managed to club him with a cheap projectile before the night (or hell, the JOURNEY) ended.
"Oh... I'd never leave a glass of good tea unfinished," Hanna had muttered in turn, her good humor obviously still intact despite the weariness. To prove her words, she devoted the next half minute to just that, too, downing the leftover contents and even continuing to hold the glass while it still retained some good warmth. Her hands certainly appreciated that particular effort...
And really? She felt no guilt over the assistance. Everyone had moments in their life when they needed it and, quite frankly, the therapist counted herself lucky among those with a good shoulder to lean on.
Which, of course, she wound up taking advantage of. "This is fine enough," she added. "... Thank you."
She'd have no qualms joining Aster in the dead (just not quite) zone of sleep. Mmm, sleeeeep...
In fact, Shae was the only female in the group who seemed keen on holding out for the rest of the night, glancing over when she saw Kanda settling in from the corner of one eye and neglecting any urge to do the same. She wouldn't contest Jade for any of his scheming, nor even bother making any more commentary.
It was time for them ALL to crash... in their own ways.
And perhaps she'd have a more restful sleep tomorrow... when she slept at all, that was.
The morning would come soon enough.

And frankly, Jade was A-OK with just sitting up all night with his two 'conversation partners'.. who were, sadly, very unwilling to talk back at him. But alas, he at least had made productive time by fixing up Ako's crooked wings (as well as some Del-care), before he'd more or less 'fallen asleep'.
Jade Balfour-Curtiss-Whatever didn't sleep. He waited.
Roundhouse kick THAT Chuck Norris. But at least the rest of the night had passed by uneventfully, fortunately. Which mean it was MORNING AND BREAKFAST TIIIMMEEEE!
And Jade was cooking. NOMNOMNOM. Eggs, various states of pigflesh, hash.. Nom nom indeed! He was more than happy to whip up something nice, considering how everybody needed a little something to get them going!
And it was the scent of fud that had made Aster stirr, whining a bit against Yossarian's side before she opened one eye to leer fjas;lkfd ow, sunlight. fa;skflasd.
But outside of that little morning-fumble, she was.. more or less up, purring and offering Yossarian a (not so discreet) nose against his cheek before she stretched and leered at what was being made for breakfast.
Sure made her stomach go 'GURGLEGURGLECANHAS?' at her.
Boo. "Nngh.. how long until Breakfast?"
Almost creepily, Kanda.... had been a lot LESS inclined to get up. Hell, he hadn't stirred all morning.
........ Maybe he needed some prodding to prove he was alive?

If there was anything Shae Harper knew about Jade, it was that he never actually did what he seemed to be doing. Sleep was no different in that respect, and though she said nothing of it, the halfbreed was fully aware of not being the only one awake-- ... since Mister Yossarian had wound up passing out about four hours in regardless of his stubbornness, in the end.
It was a valiant effort, though his body obviously labeled sleep more important than standing (er, sitting) guard and trumped his despite want to remain amongst the waking. Still upright, and stiff as a board (which would no doubt leave him terribly sore that morning), he did look rather alert; he just... wasn't.
The poor guy.
Hanna, being less against the concept of rest, had just given into it as soon as her tea was finished and passed out against her dear friend's so-kindly-offered shoulder. Hell, she'd barely even stirred throughout the night, sleeping like the dead (just not embracing the expression too literally) with her ears sunken and her features all serenely slack .
If she dreamed, she'd never tell about it, but at the very least, sleep had given her skin a bit of color back, and sucked the shadows from beneath her eyes well enough to avoid mistaken identity with any pandas.
She awoke as the first rays of dawn (along with the first twinges of heat) stirred off on the horizon, straightening up and yaaaaawning widely. Her nose was telling her that something breakfast-like was in the works and, sure enough, cracking an eye open proved just that to be the case.
"... Mmm, good morning," she greeted no-one in particular, perhaps the morning itself, in a dry tone, proceeding to wearily crack her joints and clear that rough throat out. "Smells nice..." Which... was about the time Yossarian finally stirred, feeling something against his cheek and actually groaning at it. Five more minutes to sleep in, SERIOUSLY...
Shae was the only one who gave no sound or signal when she 'woke' up, just blearily lifted her eyelids again, reached up to her shoulder to check Del (whose flight, at least, had been restored... if not crookedly-- and his lens was still cracked), getting right down to business.
"Sir?..." Yes, business that entailed making sure poor Kanda was alive and alright (er, as much as he could be), giving his shoulder a ginger shake.
Any more yet? ... No, that could wait, she told herself. She wouldn't let any frantic delusions make her act irrational this early in the morning.

Awwww~ So sleeppppppppy. He was like a little baby, just wanting to sleep a little bit more <3. Or maybe she was just rubbing off on him, Aster more than happy to stay camped out in her spot to purr and lean against his side. Dawwwwww. Prrprrrprrrprrrprrrrrr.
Though she did keep her noise level down, knowing better than to test how much pain she could put through Yossarian's head. She didn't want his poor WOUND TO THROB ALL DAY OH HER POOR MAN ;A;. Okay, now she was just..fajsldfkjas;fasdfhaslkfjaskldf. STOP FUSSING. SHE WAS NOT A MOMMA HERE, HE WAS OKAY, HE WAS OKAAAYY.
Though she did sigh and nuzzle her face right into the space between his head and his shoulder to keep him more or less 'propped up'. Wakey time yet?
Jade chuckled a bit. "Well, certainly a rough morning to wake everybody up, now isn't it?" he mused, prodding at some of the hash and removing the eggs and sausage-esque material from the heat to another plate.
Mmmm, their whole habitat smelt deliiiiiicious, now didn't it?
Well, HE certainly thought so, and was more than happy to pipe back a 'Good morning!' in return to Hanna, before offering her a plate. "Hungry?"
I HOPE SO, BECAUSE I REQUIRE FEEDING BEFORE WE GO OUT.
The prodding caused Kanda to shift and groan in pain, not seeming all too thrilled with having his 'beauty sleep' interrupted, and frowning with his eyes still shut.

Okay, apparently Aster had missed that subtle undertone of LET ME REMAIN UNDISTUUUUURBED in his groaning beforehand, but there was nothing Yossarian could do about it now short of waking a-- ... well, damn, he'd made the mistake of cracking his eyelids; now there was definitely no turning back whatsoever.
He was awake, whether he liked it or not... and hey, it could've been worse, right? Seemed like some kind of breakfast was cooking at the devious hands of that bespectacled wretch...
"The blasted sun is barely up..." he croaked, surprised at the dryness of his own voice. Good lord, desert conditions could really suck the water out of someone without even realized it! He could've sworn he swallowed and tasted sand, too.
"Oh, ravenous, thank you." Hanna wasn't about to turn down an offered plate, either, mustering her most charming smile and accepting the token with a gracious nod-- before turning her cheer towards a particularly woeful looking other male.
"Always better to rise early," she chirped (still dryly, alas), which only earned a grumble and a slurred groan. "Maybe if we're lucky, we can get somewhere worthwhile before high noon, hmm?..."
He wasn't about to respond to that, thoroughly pessimistic already and just glad she'd began to chew on her plate.
Shae was starting to become more conscious of the dryness, too... but she'd felt it slowly creeping in all night to some extent, so the surprise wasn't too great. She hadn't really bothered to dish up any food for herself... in fact, she'd just remained right where she'd been planted, almost in a daze, and waited. On what? She didn't really say... but a certain therapist already knew it was on him.
Still, the meekest halfbreed wasn't about to speak on that.
Kanda could wake up at his leisure, and she'd... just get him a plate when he felt like it, or something.
But-- ... god, how was he going to WALK today, anyway? That leg of his had looked pretty bad last night...
