Ruka’s words both startled and angered her. Ice water cascading over her skin and blood boiling, Alevia bit back her angry reply and settled with a forced calmness.
“As you wish, Suoen-San..”
Bristling slightly, Alevia swept from the room, heading anywhere but that uncomfortable dorm.

Once the menacing aura had all but dissolved from the lightless air around Alevia, she found herself somewhere she didn’t recognize. Of course, she wouldn’t be able to distinguish most places in this strange dormitory, but this was eerie. Alevia was almost certain the Moon Dorm wasn’t large enough to house such an expansive area of pure nothingness.
‘Although… you can never tell when there’s such a distinctive scent of pureblood lingering in the air…’ Alevia silently cursed the pureblood race with distracted vehemence, sniffing at the musky air with distaste.
Sighing, slightly stressed by her lack of bearings, she gently removed the blossom from her tresses, staring intently into the dark at where her hands were delicately grasping the flower’s stem, suspending it upside-down. A hum of a whisper drifting from her barely parted and rapidly moving lips, Alevia murmured an ancient family spell to the precious artifact she’d bore since the beginning of her life.
With a slow, warming sensation the bud alit with florescent light that enveloped Alevia in shades of aqua. The words continued, flowing like a tuneless song as brilliant blossom continued to morph. The petals swirled, dancing to the beat of Alevia’s humming. Coming to a soft conclusion, the flowers folded together, smoothing into a whisper light blue crystal – the stem elongating and thinning into a silver chain. Warmth and soothing comfort wafted from the illuminating core.
Lifting the silver suspended jewel, Alevia inspected her artifact with content. It always managed to calm her down.
“Now then…” Alevia murmured, expression settling into a more business-like manor. “Find Ruka Souen.” Alevia murmured, eyes glazing as if in a trance. The crystal obeyed, spinning as it searched for its quarry.
‘I don’t care if she wants to do it alone…’ Alevia thought with a slight childish manor that she disregarded.
Alevia waited patiently, knowing it could take moments to minutes to find its assignment. When at last the jewel’s rotation ceased, Alevia’s anticipation built, eager to leave the faintly lit expanse for a more favorable place. But when the verdict came it brought more confusion and anxiety rather than Alevia’s salvation.
Spinning wildly, the artifact was unable to find Ruka. Alarm and desperation sunk into Alevia’s skin like ink. ‘What’s wrong..?’ Alevia’s thoughts demanded, frenzied hands snatching the charm from the suffocating air.
