Easter Egg Hunt II Lenachan358 The family had gathered to eat a bit after Nila had been found. Otieno was pouting because he was the only one without an egg. He didn't really understand what was so special about them, but they HAD to be good, because everyone had one. Because of that he started to chew on his shoes. Jacosa talked to Nila about his egg and the baby just watched the oval object. In between the otter looked around for other kids. He really wanted to play with somebody. "Go and join the other ones." Ranjit smiled and made Jacosa move over to Solaris, Kiana and the other kids. They stayed a bit away with the toddlers themselves, but the otter quickly ran towards the announcing lady. He was holding a little basket containing one egg only. " Hello." The boy said friendly, but not too loudly. Jacosa watched the children interact and his ears dropped a bit. Perhaps it was because he was so furry and they weren't ? Most of his friends had fur as well. He coughed a bit and moved over to Angelus and touched his shoulder briefly. " Erm...I wonder if you know good tricks for...finding eggs ?" Silent_Crying_Eyes Angelus felt a touch on his shoulder and he looked behind him. Another child! "Um... I've found all of mine in trees! And plus, I have him."
He pointed to his chocolate banthi. "He's got a pretty good nose. Would you like to join us?" he offered. "My name's Angeluls and he's Dameon." He pointed to the banthi. Kaioto_Katsuma "And I'm Kiana" adds Kiana. "And the chocolate-and-dirt-covered boy over there is Solaris." "Hey! I heard that!" he calls. Lenachan358 Jacosa had to keep himself from squealing and just nodded very exaggeratedly. " Yeah, yeah, sure. I'm Jacosa. You can call me Cosa though or Jac. You decide." His dark eyes turned towards the banthi and made him grin. Why didn't he have such a cool pet ? Well, he had one, but she only lived inside the bathtub. " I only found one yet. How many do you have ?" He revealed the egg inside his basket and looked at the three children. Kaioto_Katsuma Solaris, itching to start hunting again, nevertheless joins the group, making a note to keep an eye on the chocolate-covered banthi. "I've got three!" he says, proudly holding up his bag. "An' two have gold in 'em!" "I've got two" replies Kiana after her brother. "No gold, though. I got a bunny slipper and an angelic fish!" On the last two words, her grins grows wider on her face. She's really looking forward to seeing her new pet. Silent_Crying_Eyes Angelus smiled. "Is Jac okay?" He liked that nickname out of all of them for some reason.
Angelus looked into his bag. "Both Dameon and I found eight all together. Two of the eggs have certificates to some fuzzy slipper shop." He needed to tell Silent so she could take him.
"What's in yours Jac?" he asked.
Dameon had a sly smile on his face as he kept an eye on Solaris. Solaris tasted like Chocolate now and that was a good thing.
Angelus looked to Kiana. "You're going to have to show me your Angelic fish when you get it!" It sounded like a really cool pet.
"We have one more hunt." He informed the child whom he traded chocolate with. Lenachan358 " Jac is alright. I had a certificate in there for some kind of pet...called...err" His paw reached into his trousers pockets and fished out a small crumbled piece of paper. " Tyuri." Listening to the conversation the otter moved his tail slightly. " I bet it has pretty wings. Just like you." Jacosa busily tried to imagine how such a fish had to look like as he smiled at Kiana. " Where shall we look at first ?" Kaioto_Katsuma "Of course I'm gonna show you!" Kiana says to Angelus. "I'm gonna show everybody!! I've never heard of an angelic fish before, so it's my job to show everyone they exist." she adds with a determined nod. Cool pets come with responsibilities, even if they're fun responsibilities. "Aaw, thank you!" Kiana then replies to Jacosa, fluttering her wings behind her. But Solaris, mostly left out of the conversation, is itching to start now. "Come oonn, guys, they're gonna start without us if we don't hurry!" Jacosa heard somebody yelling and then he saw the disaster. Andraste waved to get him towards her and a very strange looking Otieno lay on the blanket, seemingly quite pale. Lenachan358 " Can I go now please, MOM ?" Jacosa whined as he looked at all the other children. " They invited me to join them, they have fun without me." He pointed at the children, who were busily searching for eggs. Andraste sighed. Otieno had started to puke out of nothing and to avoid that it was because of the food they had eaten, she had told Jacosa to stay with her. But as he begged like this she couldn't resist but allow him to go. The otter almost stumbled across his own feet as he ran towards the trees and bushes looking around for eggs and the others. Jacosa gasped as he fell to the ground as he tripped over something. It was black and green and...an EGG ! Quickly he picked it up and tried to clean it from the dirt regardless that his clothes were quite dirty as well. As fast as possible the otter got up and dashed towards Angelus and Kiana, who were looking at trees. The otter shoved the egg into his basket, who gladly hadn't been destroyed. " Mom...wanted..stay...now...here...again.." He muttered a bit out of breath. Kaioto_Katsuma Kiana looks down from where Angelus soared to, broken out of her thoughts by someone was gasping behind her. The otter boy! Jacosa! "Hey! I was wondering where you'd gone!" Actually, she hadn't particularly noticed, but that was mean, so she ignored the thought. "Are you ok?" Silent_Crying_Eyes Not seeing anything, Angelus fluttered back down to the ground. "Hey Jac! You found one? That's great!" Kiana and him weren't having the same luck though.
Dameon nudged the fallen angel's thigh.
Angelus refused to look down. He knew who it was. "If you have another one, you'll be a furless banthi." He warned, but not being serious.
It was another egg. Taking the object from his mouth, he deposited the egg into his bag.
"I guess your nose knows, huh?" he chuckled.
Dameon barked happily. He started to sniff towards the base of the tree in which the children were looking in. Lenachan358 Jacosa smiled at Kiana and nodded. " I'm alright." His nose was feeling a little bit ticklish though. Quickly he covered it with his paws as he had to sneeze. " He's so skilled. Perhaps you could open an egg finding shop, just for Easter." Jacosa suggested and petted the Banthi's head slightly. Hopefully he was allowed to do so. As his eyes trailed across the ground he noticed something red behind the tree's bark. Silent_Crying_Eyes Dameon nuzzled the hand that petted him. Children were so nice and fun to play with. Even though he was an adult, he still acted like a kid at times.
"He'd make a lot of gold with that nose." Angelus chuckled. His paper bag was starting to feel a bit weighty. "Do you have any ideas where we could find some eggs?" he asked the otter.
Dameon sniffed around Kiana's feet. He could've sworn he smelled something. Kaioto_Katsuma Kiana blinks down at the Banthi, and pats him a bit on the head. He didn't think she had eggs in her shoes, did he? XD But Jacosa's reappearance reminded her about Solaris. Where'd he get off to? Looking around, she doesn't see him. "Um... hold on a sec, guys, I should probably go see where Solaris went off to" she says. Kaioto and Therlia are here, but still, she should have an idea where he is. Besides, he might know where some eggs are... Lenachan358 Jacosa was releaved as he was obviously allowed to pet Dameon and squinted his eyes a bit to look at the red object. It was just a flower, sadly. " Oh yes, you could get your own show on TV !" His dark eyes sparkled at the thought and he had to surpress a giggle. It was too funny ! Scratching his chin Jacosa looked around. " My first egg was inside pond. Perhaps there's another one inside a water place ?" Looking around he pointed at a small puddle. Silent_Crying_Eyes Angelus nodded his head to Kiana. "Okay. If you find him, bring him back so we can all find some more eggs. Two heads are better than one." He joked.
Dameon realized that it was nothing and turned his attention to the grass near Jac's feet. Either children had smelly feet or there was an egg here. xd Silent_Crying_Eyes Dameon shook his head. Nothing! Children had the oddest smelling feet in his opinion. Turning his nose back to the ground, it led him next to a trash can in the park. Maybe someone accidentally threw one away? Lenachan358 Solaris ? Oh yeah, the other boy that looked so similar to Kiana. " I can tell you if I see him." The otter mumbled and moved towards the puddle to inspect it closer. It seemed quite muddy. Quickly he dipped his hand into the water to touch the ground. Was an egg hidden there ? Silent_Crying_Eyes He really didn't want to dive in to the trash can, but did he have a choice? No. He'd do it for the eggs. Peering over the rim, he used his muzzle to move debris out of his way. Silent_Crying_Eyes Angelus watched the otter dip his hand into a puddle of water. "Did you find one?" he asked Jac.
As he walked over to him, Angelus nearly fell over due to a hard object. Lenachan358 The muddy hand was pulled out again and the otter's eyes were focused on an object in his palm. It indeed looked like an egg. " Woo, yeah. Cool !" He showed the brown one to Angelus and smiled. " That's a good egg hiding place. Perhaps there's another one inside ?" It almost seemed like he waited for Angelus to dip into the puddle himself. Silent_Crying_Eyes Angelus grumbled. "Stupid rocks." He complained. His eyes looked to the egg. "Good job! Maybe." He dipped his hand into the puddle of water. Thank goodness he didn't fall in. Lenachan358 " Where did your dog go ?" Jacosa inquired as he watched Angelus' hand dip into the muddy water. Somehow the animal seemed to have vanished and just when they needed his egg instincts. The otters tail wiggled a bit as he looked under a nearby stone. Perhaps they had dig a hole below it and just covered it with the stone ? " Is there another one ?" Silent_Crying_Eyes "I'm not sure. But he'll only come back when he finds an egg." Angelus laughed. He shook his hand to take some water off. "Nothing." he responded.
"You're finding them. Not me. Maybe there is one there." he said, looking towards the direction of the stone.
Dameon was not going to give up! He continued to dig deeper. Lenachan358 Of course, he trusted the dog. Jacosa smiled slightly and turned his eyes back to the stone. " I think you found more than me, I was just lucky with the water stuff. Perhaps because I'm an otter." Dark eyes were staring at the place where he just had suspected the egg. Sadly they had to leave soon and Jacosa didn't have any time to find more eggs. They had won gold, a plushie and two pets though, which were supposed to be delivered soon. After all it was a nice day.

Russel Nila was sitting in the corner of the kitchen while Andraste was trying to cook a meal for the family. Otieno was busy in his own room and so the two females finally had same time alone.
As usually Andraste made a little fishpot for Jacosa, who didn't seem to enjoy any kind of beafsteak. The others would go with the good meat, in her opinion.
Nila leaned against the wall in a sitting position and watched her new friend Russel. His small hooves made clacking sounds, which she enjoyed the most. The blue baby also liked to tug his ears, but then Russel always went away and she didn't like him to be away.
Silently the pet trotted over to her and the tiny hand nuzzled into the thick egg coloured fur. Sometimes it seemed to Andraste as if Nila was counting the green spots.
Nila still didn't like to talk. She cooed at Russel and also giggled when his fur tickled her, but words didn't seem to be able to come out of her mouth. Then she frowned as if she was annoyed, but still she didn't intend to do it.
Russel seemed to understand her thoughl. Nila smiled happily.

The Check-Up Nicodemus.Grey Nicodemus's fingertips itched under the bandages covering his right arm. He sighed, eyes glancing towards the window from inside the clinic. He was here alone on his check up, but wishing he was elsewhere. He didn't like doctors that much- it was a boring hour and a half of questions and being poked with popsicle sticks.
The eleven year old began to fidget. He grabbed another magazine from the side table, flipped through it before he realized he'd read it twenty minutes prior. Lenachan358 A man with blue skin entered the clinic with a frown. He tugged along a toddler, who was dressed in a yellow raincoat and wooden shoes and snorted all the while. On his face was something that looked pretty much like a strange mask. On the man's other arm was a blue girl with red hair, who looked around curiously, but seemed rather peaceful in comparison to the blue boy with the mask. "Come on, Otieno, Nila needs to get her check-up...damn..." As the man noticed Nicodemus he blushed because of using such a bad word in front of children. "Uh...hello young man." Otieno snorted. Not another stupid one...he looked interesting though. Youkochylde The next one in the door was what appeared to be a foxcoon girl, her purse slung over one shoulder. Multitasking was apparently NOT a forgotten art as she dug through her purse, managed to click her car keys onto the loop at the side, chatted on the cel phone that was held in the crook of her shoulder and narrowly avoided stepping on a toddler. "Yes, Daddy. I'm there now." She smiled to the two little ones, and lingered back to wait her turn. They had been there first, so it was only fair that they got signed in and such... or whatever had to be done. "Yes, and I'll probably be home in about an hour." The girl's ears pinned back then and she let out an exasperated sigh into the phone. The effect was that half the cel was now buried under dark grey fur. "Yes, the car is still in one piece. Smartass." The last word was muttered under her breath, wisely. "NOTHING! I didn't say anything. I'll be home soon, love you!" Hitting the 'end' button on the phone, she slid it back into her purse and fished out the compact-sized plastic case that she had come here about to begin with. quietsnooze "And the last little piggy ran aaaall the waaaaay home~!" Robert squeals in his father's arms, squirming and clenching his tiny toes as Pippin tickles them. They both share a laugh, albeit a strange one, outside the clinic's doors. The grown man sports a rather unusual hairstyle - but when doesn't he? - and is decked out in clothes hued to match his new blonde locks. It's a mystery as to what Robbie's hair will turn out to look like, as only colourless fluff grazes his baby head. Tossing the baby rather haphazardly against his shoulder, Pippin enters the clinic with a grin on his face, as per usual. Faced the other way, Robbie chews and drools on his balled fist, his eyes wide and eyebrows arched in interest. This place is new! "Hullo, hullo!" Pippin greets in general, scanning the room for any sort of familiar face. Nicodemus.Grey Nicodemus looked up, tossing the magazine aside with a little growl. He caught the end of the Blue man's words- grinning slightly at his embarassment. His father cursed all the time, he was used to it. "Hello-" He lifted a hand and waved, eyes watching the two smaller figures curiously before someone new popped in behind the group. She was busy on the phone and made her way to a chair. Sudden activity. Nico watched all of this with interest, nodding a greeting towards Pippin as he entered and gave a general hello to everyone in the room. Lenachan358 Ranjit smiled and dragged Otieno towards Nicodemus with a fake smile. "Well, Oti, sit down and wait until I manage to sign up Nila." The baby didn't move in his arms and just watched in a very silent manner and not quite typical for a baby. " Tsk..." Otieno shrugged and slowly removed the mask from his face to allow the turtle like pet to sit on his lap. " Readin' ?" The boy pointed at the magazine Nicodemus had been holding. As Ranjit greeted Pippin with a small hello he almost bumped into the seemingly busy girl. "Oh my, so sorry..." Suddenly Nila made grabby hands and her blue eyes showed some interest. "She seems to like you..somehow...yeah..." Ranjit was hopelessly confused. What a day... Youkochylde Grinning, Raven let her purse hitch up onto her shoulder and held out her arms. "I can hold her if you like, while you're signing up," she said, wiggling her fingers a bit to tease at the baby's hands. "I love kids." Then again, that was EXACTLY why she was here. "I'm Raven," she said, speaking obviously to Ranjit, but her attention was ALL on Nila. "Raven Kitsune. And who's this lovely little girl?" Youko had made it plain and clear from the moment Raven had needed a bra that he was NOT going to be a grandfather anytime soon. Hence the little compact of pills that she'd been ordered to come here and fill once Youko realised that they were running low. Raven had told him once that giving her the pills was like giving her permission to have sex. His reply that she'd never asked him his permission to do something stupid before had left her in stunned silence for quite some time. quietsnooze Pippin beams and lends an infectious smile. "Very nice to meet everyone," he chimes with a laugh on his voice. Blonde hair falls against his stubby horns, and he completes a balancing act, Robert in one arm and the diaper bag hanging off the other, just to fix his hair. "Nyahhh~!" screams Robbie happily, falling into a gurgle. He can't quite see anything up here, but any type of excitement is enough to make him laugh. "Whoops!" Pippin's glasses fall down the bridge of his nose, and as he sets Robbie down on the clinic floor, he manages to push them back up again. "Now you have fun, President, while I wait with the grown ups. Okay? Can you do that?" Robbie gums his fist again, making his hand and sleeve thoroughly moist. He looks to his father with wide eyes before turning his attention to the nearest person. Nicodemus.Grey Nic's eyes followed where Otieno pointed, "Oh- not really. I've already read it. Mostly. I come here a lot... I guess I should start bringing a book or something." He glanced towards the turtle-like thing in Otieno's lap. "Interesting pet..?" Lenachan358 Ranjit sighed out of relief and nodded. She looked responsible to him and so he quickly handed the blue baby girl over to the foxcoon. "Her name is Nila and I'm Ranjit. She also listens to fishbaby though." As on command the blue girl's head turns back to her father who just grins. Quickly her attention is pulled back to Raven. As if the other one was just a hard puzzle Nila's eyes focus on the girl's face, but she stays silent. "Do you want to come and sign up with me ?" Ranjit asked Pippin, who also seemed to have a bundle of trouble on his own. Otieno raised an eyebrow and shrugged. " Call him Bom. Hold ?" He had experienced that others liked to hold his pet and that Bom didn't mind. So perhaps it was a good way to find others who would like to help him to destroy the couch at home. He had tried several times, but probably he needed some more tricks. Youkochylde Raven was now more than content to wait her turn, the girl sliding the baby against her hip and holding Nila carefully. "Well hello there, beautiful," she said, grinning as she let the end of her braided hair fall forward and tickle the girl's cheek. She wasn't sure about THIS baby, but MOST babies that she and her father had been in contact with had a thing for hair. When Nozomi had been a baby, Youko had kept her attention for hours by putting her in a baby backpack and having a set of jinglebells attached to his braid. Moving to curl up in one of the seats, Raven turned just a bit so that Nila could still see Ranjit if she needed to. "Your daddy's gonna be right back," she promised, bringing up one hand and tickling at the baby's tummy. quietsnooze Pippin busies himself with a magazine or three, squealing to himself about the latest about this or that, like the magazine junkie that he is. Rather quickly, his attention on his baby son is lost to an article about a new hybrid car. Robbie doesn't seem at all phased by this, as he's rather used to the partial neglect. His father has a short attention span, that's all..! Instead, the baby's attention is turned on Raven's tail. It resembles his father's coon tail, only in a new and exciting colour. Falling forward on his hands, Robbie makes a beeline at Raven with the intention of further examing her fluffy tail. His ambitions toward his motor skills has caused a bit of bow leggedness, not that his father has noticed. Stopping, Robbie pushes one hand off the floor and turns his big blue eyes Raven's way with a gaping mouth. Nicodemus.Grey "Er uh.. sure, thanks." Nic took the turthe thing, looking it over curiously before placing it in his lap as he had seen Otieno do. "Is Bom a turtle...?" Lenachan358 " Nah..." Otieno shook his head. How was he to explain the boy that it was a species from space ? " Bom is...Bom. Can make mask." Quickly the small hands tried to show the other boy that Bom was able to be attached to faces, no matter if he liked it or not. Ranjit signed Nila up and moved back to the seats. He noticed with a smile that the girl seemed completely satisfied with Raven and looked at the magazines as well. Phew... Nila wiggled her toes and listened to the soft voice. She immediately was fond of this one, she wasn't as loud as some others and not hectic. Calm. So the fishbaby giggled slightly. Until now this was her only way of showing that she liked something as suddenly something caught her attention. Long hair. She didn't know any people with long hair at home and so it was interesting. Nila decided to touch it with one finger carefully. Youkochylde By this point, Raven had completely forgotten her original reason for being there. As the little girl started to toy with her hair, she tilted her head just enough to bump the end of the braid against the tiny fingers. However, there was one good thing about being not-quite-human. One pointed ear swivelled as Robbie got closer, and Raven slid her gaze to the side to see the boy's single-minded advance on her tail. Ah yes, the greatest game of all... tail chase. Yet another of her own childhood favourites. She waited until Robbie was JUST close enough to reach out for the furred appendage and then twitched it to the side, just barely out of his grasp. Eventually, she was pretty sure she'd lose track of her concentration and either wind up with an ear pulled, or her tail gnawed upon... but it wasn't like it hadn't happened before. quietsnooze Robbie blinks rapidly, absolutely bewildered. It's gone! Just like that! He falls back onto his padded bottom just at Raven's ankle, his face falling into a determined pout. He pushes himself up into a squat, his weak ankles barely supporting him, and opens his palms to the sky in preparation. "UHP!" he squeals, and up he does go, as he launches himself full force at the tail with his hands open and ready. Nicodemus.Grey "Make mask..." Nic's eyebrow rose, eyeing the pet suspiciously. That was creepy on a level that one shouldn't discover after accepting to 'hold' said pet. "That's ... neat." sweatdrop "Are you here for a checkup, or waiting on your ... sister?" He nodded towards Nila and Raven. Lenachan358 " Sister." Otieno snorted and rolled his eyes. He totally wasn't fond of Nila. "Wan' hav her ?" Ranjit checked his watch. They were probably supposed to get in quite soon, they were already waiting for a while and he wasn't one of the most patient people. Nila suddenly noticed another movement and waved to Robbie. Then she turned back to the hair and tugged it slightly and very gently. When the movement became to rapid she stopped and looked at her own hand with interest. Youkochylde That was the time Raven's cel phone chose to ring again, and she balanced the baby in one arm as she pulled the phone out of her purse. "Hello?" Almost immediately, the girl's face fell and she got a distinct look of exasperation on her face. "Not yet. No." Leaning back a bit in the chair, she let the little girl tug at her hair, her head tilting faintly. "I'm still waiting, Daddy. Yes, I'll be home soon." Once that was done, she sighed and looked down at Nila. "Sorry kiddo, but I have to get a move-on." She turned to hand the baby reluctantly back to Ranjit. "She's beautiful," she said, smiling to him. "Unfortunately, I have to g-- EEP!" Just as predicted... her attention wavered and she found herself nearly yanked out of the chair as her tail suddenly aquired several added pounds. The foxcoon wasn't heavy by a longshot, and it was pretty much just reflexes that kept her from tipping over backwards and landing ON the poor boy. Snickering, she moved to detach Robbie's hands from her tail and tapped a finger on the tip of his nose. "Good one, kiddo," she said, grinning to him. "Got me that time." quietsnooze The next few moments are pretty much a blur for Robbie, but before he knows it he's back on his diaper again. He couldn't help but feel disappointed; he felt the fur in his fingers for a few seconds! But then two things happened; the other baby gave him a smile - and Robert can't possibly receive one without giving one back - and the pretty fluffy lady touched his nose. His mood does a 180 and instead, the baby is left grinning in and out. "BAI BAI~" he booms, obviously getting his lungs from his father. He reaches up and opens and closes his hand in a sort of wave. "BAI~!" Nicodemus.Grey Nic handed the Brom back, hearing his named called. "Er.. thanks. It was nice meeting you-" He made sure the pet was returned before darting through the doors to see the doctor. Lenachan358 " Bye." Otieno attached Bom to his face again and sighed as he peered through the eyelits. "Hey wanna babysit in future just -" Ranjit sighed as Raven had already left and looked at Nila, who watched him quite sternly. "Fishbaby, come on, it's our turn." Motioning towards Otieno he waved goodbye to everyone and they went into another door to meet the doctor.

Otter Trouble Otieno was angry. He growled as he watched the so-called parents run around the apartment in haste. Why did this stupid child have to run away ? Because he had magic powers ? Otieno would really like to have such powers. Still he had none, but he was slowly getting better with talking and all this business. His hand ran along Bom's shell as he watched the procedure.
Nila, his little sister, was seated on the couch as usual close to him. She avoided to look at him though. Why was Mommy unhappy ? Her steal blue eyes watched Andraste hurry around and it seemed like she was close to tears. Where was Jac ?
"Ranjit, I tried to call everyone, he's not with any of his friends. I couldn't reach Katrina though." The mother appeared pretty worried and sighed as she stuffed quite a lot of things into a small bag.
"I drove through all of the streets, I couldn't find him. We will find him though, I'm sure. Jac wouldn't run away." Ranjit tried to comfort the woman and moved to pick up Nila, who voluntarily allowed him to do so.
"Do you know where your brother could be ?" The man tickled her belly and the girl giggled and shook her head. "No talk. Too stupid." Otieno commented and earned a sigh from Ranjit. "Not everyone's as fast as you, Oti."
The alien poked out his tongue but grinned. He was fast ! Still he didn't like that they had bought plastic cups for his toe and fingernails. They looked so colourful now and he wasn't able to scratch things, because Andraste had glued them to his hand. Stupid stuff, now he looked so rainbowy. Blue and green stripes as claws - awesome.
Suddenly the phone rang. Nila listened up. She loved the phone ! Sometimes they called Daddy at work and they were able to talk with each other. Well, Daddy talked and she laughed and listened. It was great fun. Quickly she pointed at the black phone on the table close to them.
"Perhaps she's just not able to speak ?" Ranjit wondered and grabbed the phone. "Just stubborn." Andraste muttered and watched the man answer the phone. His eyes grew wide.
"Yes, Mom. We'll be there as quickly as possible. No, we won't be angry. No....Sure....Yeah...Alright....see you there."
"Your mother ?" Andraste snorted and remembered the first encounter. Ranjit nodded. "Jac's with her." The mother squealed, but then fell silent again as she dashed towards her backpack with baby supplies. "Come on, Oti." Ranjit mumbled as Nila was literally sucked of his arm by Andraste.
"Take Bom." Otieno stated and slid of the couch before he cradled the turtle-creature. As Nila saw so she started to whine.
"Tell us what you want, dear." Ranjit smiled, but Nila only whined more and pointed at the kitchen. As he saw Andraste's worried face the Nokke gave in and moved into the kitchen. There was Russel !
Nila squealed and pointed at him and because they were in haste Ranjit quickly pushed the alien pet towards the front door. In the meantime Andraste had managed to get Otieno into the car and the man followed quickly with pet and baby.

Snow in July A small car made it's way down the meandering road as fast as possible. It was filled with sorrow and worries, but also with a growling blue boy and a turtle and his sister accompanied by an alien pet, who just watched the world outside.
Andraste was sweating. It was the first time that she actually cared about somebody. She loved Jacosa, she didn't want him to run away, just because she was a stupid mother. Ranjit had forbidden her to drive the car towards Narra's house and so she turned around to the kids once in a while to check if everything was alright.
Nila was silent as usual and leaned against Russel. She was her baby, but even if Jacosa was an otter, he belonged to her just as much.
Purple eyes turned back to the front as suddenly something white moved into her view. "Ranjit ! STOP !" The woman screamed but it was already too late. The Nokke wasn't able to stop and the family rushed into a hill of white.
Silence.
Otieno pulled Bom of his face and looked at the seemingly shocked parents at the front. Was that the way humans died ? "We broken ?"
Nila buried her face in Russel's fur and watched the reaction of the parents and of Otieno. Where was Jacosa ? What was the white stuff in front of them ?
Ranjit gasped. "Snow ? In July ?!"
Andraste wasn't able to sit still anylonger and tried to open the car's door. It didn't seem to work out and so she opened the window. An icy breeze entered the car and the kids paid attention as their mother climbed out of the window and dared to touch the white stuff that had stopped the car.
Nobody could be seen on the street besides the little car which was stuck inside the masses of snow. Everything surrounding them looked pretty normal though as it was supposed to be in July. Where did the snow come from then ?
A trail of snow moved across the grassy hills beside the street and anger arose in Andraste's stomach. Who dared to precipitate some snow in front of their car ? Without looking back the woman stomped across the grass following the trail of snow steps.
Something brown entered her view and her mouth opened to yell at the person in front of her as she noticed that it was a deer, who was standing in front of a small bundle. The animal dashed off as Andraste kneeled down and picked up the small something. Was it a bomb ?
Carefully she removed a bit of the cloth and was almost about to hit her forehead as two green eyes stared at her intensively. God no, another freaking damn baby !

Reunion Jacosa hid himself in the bathroom as he heard the doorbell ring. Eichia watched him from the couch and moved her fluffy tail from side to side in anticipation. What did the big furry one do ?
Narra instead slowly moved towards the wooden furniture and opened the door for the kids' parents - or parents-to-be. "Come on in. My haven't you grown Nila !" The grandmother picked up the giggling blue girl and walked back into the living room. Andraste and Ranjit stumbled into the room, Otieno followed quietly. The man was carrying another baby, which watched everything with a emotionless expression. It's intense green eyes were focused on the grandmother.
"Where's Jac ?" Andraste shouted and you were able to see the worry in her eyes easily. Ranjit instead had noticed the squirrel girl on the couch which purred happily and smiled. He was sure that this was supposed to be another surprise, but as something brown moved out of the bathroom door Andraste couldn't help but embrace the otter and had to supress some tears. "JAC ! Don't ever do that again, I was so worried about you."
The otter didn't know what to think. He felt miserable. He was happy, but sad at the same time and started to cry as he was pushed against the mother's clothes.
"'Lo." Eichia chirped and waved at Ranjit, who seemde to be looking at her for quite a while now. The man smiled and sat down. "And who are you ?"
"Cos-a sista." Smiled the squirrel girl and Ranjit's eyes grew wide. Another one. Oh no ! The grandmother settled down nearby her son to not disturb the reunion of mother and otter. "I see you were busy."
Ranjit couldn't help and tell her about the happening on their way to the house. "Snow you say ?" Narra answered and smiled and the small baby girl. "Call her Neva then." The Nokke made sure to consider the name and as something furry rubbed against his arm, he couldn't help but laugh about Eichia's personality. She was cute.
"You brought another baby ? I brought one, too !" Jacosa smiled happily as he spotted Neva and Andraste suddenly grew pale. Within seconds she fainted.

Water Speech After Andraste had been sat down on the couch and watched Neva and Eichia, who was busily rubbing her head against her hand's palm, Ranjit had time to talk to Narra.
"How have you been, son ?" The grandmother asked and watched Nila, who was sitting on a small blanket on the floor and smiled at Russel. Ranhit sighed and his eyes followed Otieno, who was sitting in a corner and talked to Bom. "We're a bit worried about Nila, because she doesn't talk yet. I personally don't think it's bad, but Andraste wants her to say something. She's just a baby."
Narra laughed slightly and moved to pick up the small girl. "She's already a toddler, Ranjit. She's grown a lot. Nila is also a Nokke, don't you remember how you have started to talk ?" The man blinked and shook his head. How was he supposed to be ?
His mother had already walked into the bathroom and started to fill the bathtub. Nila's blue eyes focused on the grandma. She smelled nice, so she allowed her to undress her. Nila stood naked in front of the bathtub as her Daddy picked her up and she giggled. She liked to take a bath !
"Push her below the surface. She's able to breath underwater just like you and me are." Narra smiled and although Ranjit's eyes looked worried he pushed Nila into the water. Everything was blue around her and wet, but she was able to breath the stuff. Something inside of her seemed to go away, something that had blocked her before. She laughed and giggled and bubbles arose. Where were Daddy and Mommy ? They should try !
"Daeeed." She giggled and as she was lifted out of the liquid she repeated the words. Ranjit was amazed !

Meeting Remy Lenachan358
He needed the silence.
Ranjit moved into the building known as GMFC and smiled slightly. At home there was so much going on, so many new expression and all the children were changing so fast. His eyes turned to his daughter, whose small hand clinged to his shoulder. Smiling slightly she looked around. Nila knew this place.
A strange kind of animal followed them. It was Russel, the alien pet, which was Nila's steady companion.
"Nobody's here yet, Nila. Let's sit down and wait until it's our turn, alright ?" The man explained to the toddler as he took a seat on a nearby chair and placed the blue-skinned girl gently onto the floor. Nila grinned.Cajmera "Well, are you all ready for this, Remy? Remember, you represent the family today...so it really wouldn't be all that shocking if you decided to throw a screaming fit. But I would really appreciate it if you didn't, just so you're aware." Smiling in what was meant to be a bold and confidant fashion, Cajmera's face was nonetheless tinged with the slightest bit of anxiety as she walked into the GMFC, her red-headed son nestled in her arms. It was time for Remington to get a few shots, and she was more than a little nervous about them; Kaja had never needed to have shots. At least Remy was untouched by his mother's nervousness. Instead the baby simply looked around, his bright interested eyes taking in every detail and his plump arms clinging tightly to a stuffed yellow turtle. Almost absently, he pulled one of the turtle's feet into his mouth and began to gnaw on it, in that absent fashion of babies. Glancing around herself as they entered the room, Caj was surprised to see that it was almost empty; in fact, aside from themselves, there were only two other people present. But that was probably a good thing, as that meant Remy could probably get his check-up done sooner! Naturally, a bit of that first-time anxiety lifted, and it was with higher spirits that Caj scouted around for a good seat. Lenachan358 Nila had spotted the new persons at first and her clear blue eyes focused on the smaller one at once before trailing from mother to baby. They didn't appear to be scary, but after all you never knew if a person was scary until you heard them talk. That was the toddler's experience anyway.
As Ranjit heard someone enter he smiled. "Hello. Here for a check-up, too ?" The man didn't mind the company and after all Nila needed to get to know more people beside her siblings. She was a very quiet girl and so usually if he brought the siblings along everyone received friends but her.
Shifting slightly from her sitting position Nila stared at the baby and then looked at Russel to make sure the pet was still there. Cajmera For a moment Cajmera thought that the man was talking to his daughter, so her response was just a little bit delayed. "Oh! Yes, it's time for Remy to get his first official check-up today; I assume that's what you two are doing here?" Smiling pleasantly at both the man and the little girl, Caj settled down in one of the chairs. As she did so, Remy's eyes never left the little girl; he'd never seen another small child before, only teenagers and adults. This fellow small person was naturally of the greatest interest, and he tried to wiggle out of his mother's arms so that he could investigate better. "Uh!" At Remy's outburst, Caj looked down to see what had her usually placid son so agitated and raised a brow. "You want down, huh? Well, ok then..." Normally he liked to be held, so this was a surprise. But then, they'd never really gone anywhere yet, so it was hard to say if this was normal or not. But there didn't seem to be any harm in letting him scuttle about, as the door was shut; maybe he'd even make a friend! Remy seemed intent on SOMETHING, at least; as soon as he was on the floor he crawled over to Nila, the plush turtle being dragged along. Lenachan358 Ranjit was glad to know that there were others in similar situation. "She has been here before once, but it's still always exciting and you never know how she reacts. I'm Ranjit, she's Nila." Looking at the baby that was placed on the floor as well he nodded to himself. "Congratulations on your son."
Nila knew a lot about other children, even if the most children had been her siblings. She was well informed about them being noisy and agile. So she decided to do what she always did. The girl smiled and just watched the human coming towards her. No greeting, but no abandonment either. One of her small hands was burried in Russel's fur while she watched Remy coming closer with a plushie. Cajmera "Well, you have me at a slight advantage, Ranjit; I honestly have no clue how he'll react. But's he's doing pretty well right now, at least." With a fond smile, Caj turned to look at her son, then looked back to the man. "Oh, and I'm Cajmera; he's Remington. And thank you." At the congratulations, she grinned and ran a hand through her short hair, ending up with it resting on the base of one of her demon horns. "I guess you could say that I'm still getting used to this whole process. But yeah..." She trailed off for a moment to look back at her baby, her gaze then moving to the small girl he was heading for. "Your daughter is very adorable, by the way." After a bit of difficulty, Remy finally made it over to the other child. But instead of grabbing at her or trying to climb on her, he simply pulled himself into a sitting position in front of her, grinning a baby grin and hugging his plushie. "Grble!" He pointed first at his plushie, then at Russel, his head tilted to one side curiously. He'd never seen a toy like that before! Lenachan358 "I wish you all the best. Seems like he'll behave though. Some of my other children would do much worse, believe me." Ranjit thought of the troublemakers and home and shook his head slightly to make the thought vanish. "Nice to meet you. You'll get used very quickly. When Andraste was pregnant she was very scared, but now she's used to all the babies and children and so on." The compliment felt awesome and the Nokke was out of sudden a very proud father. "Thanks. She doesn't talk a lot though, we're a bit worried about it."
Nila watched Remy and was very satisfied that he didn't want to tug on Russel's hair. Sometimes Otieno tugged on his hair and Russel ran away and squeaked. It was like crying, not the same sound, but like crying. Remy didn't seem to make him unhappy though, because the animal moved forward and sniffed at the baby. When Russel wasn't scared Nila didn't have to be scared as well.
Her small hand waved and then she pointed at the animal. He was allowed to touch it or he could give Russel the plushie, whatever he wanted. Cajmera "Well, he hasn't really had much of an opportunity to act out yet, so for all I know he's just waiting for the right opportunity." Chuckling, Caj crossed her arms behind her head and leaned back in the somewhat uncomfortable chair, one watchful eye still on the children. "She doesn't talk much, hm? Maybe it's from having siblings...I've heard that sometimes having talkative older siblings can make a child unusually silent." Yet another random fact that she'd gleaned in her hours of reading on babies and children. Ah well, if it came in handy at some point, who was she to complain. "So, you have other children as well?" Remy sat still as a stone as he was sniffed, his eyes dancing with fascination. So it wasn't a toy, it was an animal! A sniffy animal! Setting down his plushie, the baby reached out and touched the animal's nose, then his ears. Beaming from ear to ear, he looked from the animal to the girl, then pushed his plushie towards Nila as a sort of offering. Maybe Turtle didn't move, but he was still very nice. Lenachan358 Ranjit grinned at the statement and watched the small boy. Perhaps he was just more intelligent and was able to hide the emotional inside. As he listened to Cajmera's words it was obvious that he was amazed. "Really ? Oh, we totally didn't know about that. So yeah - seems very possible to me." Phew, if it really was like that Ranjit was very relieved. "Yes, but Nila is our only natural born child. The other four are adopted or let's say they have been found." He shrugged. "Is Remy your first child ?"
Nila was a bit worried as Russel was touched, but as she noticed that the animal was calm, she felt alright. Although she hated talking she wanted to let the other one know what the pet's name was. "Russ-el." Accepting the plushie Nila smiled and examined it in a typical toddler like way. She tasted it quickly. Cajmera "Don't quote me on that, though, since I'm not totally sure; but I have heard it's a sound theory for quiet younger children." Which of course meant that she would be wildly concerned if Remy turned out to be a silent child, as Kaja was remarkably sedate. "Actually, my situation is slightly like yours; Remy is my first natural-born child, but I have an adopted older daughter, Kaja, who's 13. But since I've only had her since she was 5, all this infant stuff is unfamiliar territory." "Usl." Not a very clear mimicry, but Remy wanted to let the girl know he knew things, too. Not as much as Kaja did, or Mama...but he knew things. "Turl." As he gurgled the second word, he pointed at the plushie, then reached out to Russel again. "Usl!" Yes, it was a proud moment; he was so pleased with himself that he took hold of his toes and rolled over. Lenachan358 "I'll check on it when I get home or I guess I can simply ask the doctor." Ranjit smiled. Finally one sorrow less. "Thirteen sounds like a very difficult age. Our oldest son, Jacosa, just ran away. Luckily he just visited his grandmother. I guess puberty is about to start or something." A small sigh escaped his lips.
Nila listened. She was used to listen to things and so she just nodded. Remy seemed to be alright. Looking at the plush she realized that it looked a bit like her brother's pet, which appeared to be a turtle too. Why did everyone like turtles ? Patting Russel's side she watched Remy roll over. Was that fun ? Quickly she tried to imitate it and giggled. Cajmera Ah yes, puberty...that wasn't really something that Caj was looking forward to dealing with, either. Kaja with hormones??? "I'm sorry to hear about your son, but it's great that you know where he is. Kaja has a knack for vanishing from time to time, but she can almost always be found out in the marshes. That child lives and breathes for turtles...but I think that's less stressful than it being boys." Sighing, she ran a hand across her brow. After all, one just couldn't be sure that a good child would be a rotten tempered teen! As Nila rolled over as well, Remy squealed in babyish delight, then began to roll over again. Someone else rolled! Kaja and Mama never rolled, although Mama's pets would, sometimes. But people never rolled before; talk about a remarkable breakthrough! Lenachan358 "Turtles ? I guess she'd like to meet Otieno then. He's one of my sons and owns a turtle-like pet called Bom he always carries around." Ranjit liked the flow of this conversation. A bit of small-talk, the usual stuff, no stress. The giggling children were awesome. Perhaps Nila was finally able to make a friend.
Nila continued to laugh and bumped into Russel, who snorted in response. The giggling grew louder and now she tried to roll sideways. That was funny too, but it made you dizzy ! Cajmera "That sounds like it could be the start of a conversation that lasted for an eternity. Kaja has three pet turtles, all of them pygmy turtles that she takes with her everywhere. They sleep with her, eat with her...it's crazy. I mean, I'm no hater of reptiles...but that's a little much." Cajmera chuckled, remembering Kaja's reaction when she'd learned she was going to have a brother or sister: 'Whatever it is, it better be ncie to my turtles!'. "Kaja's not much for socializing, but those animals can inspire her to great feats of conversation for her. Maybe it would be good for her to meet Otieno." Though the topic had shifted from the younger kids, she was still keeping a parental eye on the chikdren and had to laugh at the sight of the two little ones rolling like wheels. "Looks like they don't hate each other, at least!" Giggling in a high-pitched fashion, Remy tried to roll sideways as well, but all he wound up doing was flopping on his side. Not very effective, so he went back to rolling the other way. "Grl!" Lenachan358 Ranjit suddenly had an image in his mind which made him grin. "Wow, but you still allow her to sleep with them ?" Andraste would have killed Otieno if he had three of them, she was already angry about Bom. "I'll bring him along next time. He's usually a bit - grumpy. But he loves turtles, perhaps they would get along." Watching the rolling babies Ranjit agreed. "Indeed, Nila's incredibly active today."
Said girl was about to roll right into Remy and laughed as she bumped against him. She didn't know that being larger and heavier was probably a bad thing for him. Giggling loudly she clapped her hands together. Cajmera Grinning ruefully, Caj rubbed her head once again. "Well, I tried to make her put them in the tank at night...but she'd just wait untill I was asleep and sneak them out again. Or get mad. And she's a violent mad child, not a peaceful mad child...not I finally decided that it wasn't worth getting riled up about. "Kaja was going to come along today, but then decided it was a good day to go swamp diving." A thought that naturally caused her mother to cringe, as swamp diving was a literal term and when Kaja came home she'd be caked in mud, algae, and swamp muck. "But she might be more interested if she had another turtle fan to talk to that wasn't a baby." Remy was taken off guard at the bump and that, caused with him already being off balance from spinning, caused him to tip over and hit his head against the floor with a 'clunk'. For a moment, he just lay there, surprised, and a couple large tears crept out of his eyes. But rather than burst into tears or cry out or anything, he pulled himself back up to a sitting position, sniffled a couple times...then started to roll again. Lenachan358 "Bom doesn't have a tank, unfortunately. Sometimes he swims in the bathtub, but usually Otieno wears him as a mask." Seing how strange this had to sound to Cajmera Ranjit grinned a bit embarrassed. "Well, the turtle is some kind of alien pet. Just like Russel is." Watching the animal he noticed the clunk and appeared to be worried. As Remy got up again he smiled though. "Seems like you've got a tough boy, too."
Nila heard the sound as well and stopped rolling. What was that ? Did something happen ? Oh...did she hurt Remy ? Quickly she crawled over and touched the other one although he was rolling again already. "Ouchie ?" Cajmera As Remy hit his head Caj had half risen from her chair, ready to race over at the first wail...which never came. That was certainly different. "Huh." Blinking, she lowered herself back down into her chair, her gaze still on her son as he righted himself. "Guess that he didn't want to stop whatever it is that he's doing at the moment; yet he doesn't mind making me drop what I'm doing!" She laughed nervously, the sort of laugh one makes when they're not really sure how they feel about something. When Nila touched him, Remy paused in his rolling and looked at her curiously; then he broke into a wide grin, reached over, and touched her as well. This must be a new game! "Ou-ie?" Ok, obviously Remy was fine. "I give up; children are far too complicated for me to even begin to figure out." Cajmera raised her hands in a gesture of dismissal, then smiled over at Ranjit. "So you have a bit more variety in your pets, I suppose. Kaja's turtles are the ordinary kind, but she has them pretty well-trained. They like to ride on her shoulders, or on top of her head, or in her bag; and they swim with her in the swamps. It's very odd." Lenachan358 "The problem is that they are all different.." Ranjit laughed and watched the children. "I'm glad they get along. I wonder why the doctor is taking that long." Looking at the reception Ranjit wondered if Nila was willing to wait longer. Remy was so funny. Shaking her head she looked at her arm. No, she was alright. Quickly she picked up a strand of Remy's hair. " ouuch." Cajmera At that moment, a nurse slipped out into the waiting room. "Sorry for the wait, we were just getting a few things in order after our last patient. Next?" "Well, I guess that you guys, then." Smiling at Ranjit and Nila, Caj nodded towards the receptionist. "I guess that we'll talk to you later, then; have a good one!" Remy burbled happily, still thinking that it was a game; so he just poked back gently at Nila. Maybe he'd figure out why, eventually. Who knew?
