”How many?” Luthe asked quietly settling himself on the ground. Perhaps he talked too much, but he could tell a bad situation when he saw one. And this was not good. That was indeed a dagger she’d been holding before…and he was pretty sure it wasn’t for gathering samples.

”You said you wanted to be an only child, that implies that you have siblings…many of them. How many?” he asked again. In response to her look of confusion and annoyance he offered, “I have…oh dear, how many is it now? Six were the first, all earth, fire, ice, and of course fare. Then were the four, that’s my sister and I – both of ice and the twins, well, the first set, they’re of fire. And now we have the little ones – two of light and dark, one of glittering ice, and two of earth and ice…how many is that?”

”Too damn many by all accounts,” Azura gave him an incomprehensible look. “15 children…what is wrong with your parents?”

”It’s not a family,” she corrected sharply. “My mother had 6 children. I know not and care not the fate of the others…and soon I’ll kill Auberon so I won’t have to worry about him either,” she said smiling a wicked smile. “I just need my magic back first so come along…apparently I need to get you to the bog…I might even throw you in once we arrive…” she started down a path that Luthe failed to notice before.

”Damn it, dragon,” Azura gritted her teeth as she hovered menacingly over the creature. It had been less than an hour and she was ready to kill him 10 times over. “I’m in a bit of a hurry, you know, that whole ‘lost my magic’ thing is starting to get to me. Do you REALLY have to stop every 10 feet to investigate something? It’s just another rock…just like the last one…and the one before that…which wasn’t that different from the bricks in the other part of the labyrinth.”

”I swear we’ve been here before…” Luthe said stooping down watching the stone in the path intently. “But if that were so this rock would have a claw mark in it…speaking of swearing, a lady like yourself shouldn’t do it quite so much.”
