"Eat... your... taco." Zac said scowling at him over a nacho and flushing in the cheeks. He refused to admit that he had indeed wanted demy to be anything but the silly over energetic 'crack gerbil' that he had found him to be when they first started out as roomies. "Things change"...he did say at last. "People don't... or shouldn't..."

"People change, in little ways." Nope, still not shutting up. "We're still us though! I'm still me and you're still -you-. I'm glad you grew to like me though, it wasn't much fun having a roomie that didn't.'
Wait...he realized Zee didn't like him and still went along with his oblivious playful ways? Acting like he never noticed?..
It was only then that he hushed up and dug into his lunch, content to let Zee think on that for a while.

"..." Zac gazed at him from across the table for one, long, cold, moment.
"Right..." he said bluntly and fished in his wallet. "Here... " He put money on the table and stood up... "See you on the playing field..." He said, whatever that meant. It didn't sound good... and it probably wasn't, because he was gone before the words even had time to sink home.

"...Zee?" Didn't matter, the other was gone before the word could even leave his mouth. Acid eyes blinked in confusion. What the hell had he even done? In just a few minutes he'd gone from having Zee and Toki for company to having no one.
He felt horribly lonely.
Demy added his own money to the collection on the table and left, no longer really having the heart to try and finish even the best of meals. The boy left the restaurant with a sad little whine, turning to trek his way back to Heather's house. Hopefully he wouldn't say something stupid to her and drive her away too.
