Like the bodies themselves, the possessions they carried had been charred and mangled, rendering chips and circuit boards melted and scarred. Here a withered hand held a bubbly chunk of keys; there, the sole of a boot had been blown off and curled in on itself at the ends like a Scolipede.
There were some salvageable bits, however, including some Pokeballs that had escaped with just badly cracked or charred cases that still protected what was within.
Any scent of Aulus or the other Rockets was overpowered by the stench of burning rubber, plastic, and what was best left as 'organics.'

Frost did not expect to find clues around the edges of the blast zone. As socially unaware as he generally was, he also did not expect most of his fellows to be willing to search corpses. As such he moved from body to body collecting up all of the pokeballs and other miscellaneous valuables they possessed, passing them over to the Metang that had let itself out of its heavy ball to follow him around as he went.
Xander was not here.
There were not clues as to where the Galactic base had flown off to.
Frost looked down into the face of a young woman.
Her eyes were still open.
He took her pokeballs and moved onward, leaving her to stare at the sky.

Despite the overpowering and nearly sickening smells assaulting her senses, the determined puppy did not - would not - give up until either she accomplished her goal or until Claire told her otherwise. She had a Command.
While scanning the area, Claire couldn't help but notice Frost moving around inspecting.. ...wait were those bodies? What was he... oh. Oh dear.
While more than likely an important task, she couldn't imagine ever being able to do it herself. The fact her fellow agent could - and so dispassionately, but really, should she be surprised? - made her stomach turn. Yuck.
After a few minutes of searching, Zeus bounded over to Faleen with a half-burnt booklet of some sort. He stopped near her feet and pawed at her boot with one paw, the other holding the remains of what he'd found. Upon closer inspection, Faleen would find it had once been a book of logic puzzles.

In all honesty, Seth had no idea what they were looking for either. What remained here was nothing more than a charred wreck from what he could see. Could there possibly anything they could salvage from this? Any sort of clue? He was determined to find something, and since his expertise was with machinery... he stuck to that. They had to find -something-. Anything.
Bypassing corpses, he came to the leg of one of the destroyed mechs and started to survey it. But the strange "toast shaped" device also caught his attention, so he moved to that instead, attempting to figure out what it was. It was still smoking though, thus it was hot, so he was cautious.

As a tall figure exited the helicopter, he couldn't help but make an obvious (and tactless) observation. "Man! They got PWN'D 4RLZ!" He laughed, which seemed relatively inappropriate for the current serious scenario he found himself in, but it wasn't the first time he had ever shown himself to be inconsiderate.
"...They got so f*cked up... man, sucks fer them!" Rather than immediately set to scouting the area like a good little Rocket, the computer hacker instead sent a message to his superior who was missing from this excursion.
Mechs and dead bodies everywhere at the site. No surviving Galactics that can be seen so far. Will send more info as it is found!
Of course, when Seth declared who was going to be investigating the mechs, 1337 grinned as a 1337 always did. Allowing two Pokeballs to get chucked out from his collection, soon enough two Virtual Pokemon were hovering nearby. As the pair wobbled in place, the hacker sent the duo a quick set of instructions via his handset.
01000110 01101111 01101100 01101100 01101111 01110111 00100000 01110100 01101000 01100101 00100000 01000101 01101100 01101001 01110100 01100101 00100000 01000001 01100111 01100101 01101110 01110100 00100000 01100001 01110100 00100000 01100001 00100000 01100100 01101001 01110011 01110100 01100001 01101110 01100011 01100101 00101110 00100000 00100000 01000111 01100001 01110100 01101000 01100101 01110010 00100000 01100001 01101100 01101100 00100000 01101001 01101110 01100110 01101111 01110010 01101101 01100001 01110100 01101001 01101111 01101110 00100000 01110000 01101111 01110011 01110011 01101001 01100010 01101100 01100101 00100000 01100001 01100010 01101111 01110101 01110100 00100000 01110100 01101000 01100101 00100000 01101101 01100001 01100011 01101000 01101001 01101110 01100101 01110011 00101110 00100000 00100000 01000100 01101111 00100000 01101110 01101111 01110100 00100000 01100001 01101100 01101100 01101111 01110111 00100000 01111001 01101111 01110101 01110010 01110011 01100101 01101100 01110110 01100101 01110011 00100000 01110100 01101111 00100000 01100010 01100101 00100000 01100100 01100101 01110100 01100101 01100011 01110100 01100101 01100100 00101110
Whether the pair of Porygon-Zs understood their directions or not was not clear, for they wobbled from side to side in a nearly unsteady manner before seeming to zip off.
"...now... let's see here..." If it was possible to see his eyes, they probably would have been looking up, for his head was leaning back as if he was trying to look at the sky in thought. When he finally seemed to figure out which Pokemon to call out, he chucked the respective Pokeballs out.
In front of the hacker stood a Jolteon and an Alakazam. It made no sense to pull out the Metagross, since it was so bulky, and the Rotom would have been quite useless at this point too.
Pointing a finger to the Jolteon, he stated "You... see what you can find..."
With his other hand, he pointed to the Alakazam. "You... stick with me... I need your assistance in moving debris."
Both Pokemon nodded their heads, and soon enough, Battery had zipped off as well to tend to the task she had been given. She couldn't help but pause and sniff at the air, her nose twitching as the smell of burnt materials filled her nostrils. It felt like it was burning the insides of her nose! She had to pause every so often to rub her snout against her own leg in an effort to sooth the vague pain. Eventually she came to a pile of debris which she figured she could search through manually. Placing a paw upon any random object, she pushed the pieces to the side, almost as if she was trying to search for a hidden treasure that even she didn't know about.
1337 and HaXX0rz went off on their own direction, tending to a different pile of debris in a similar manner. Except HaXX0rz did all of the grunt work, moving pieces of debris away, and 1337 being the one to look over any newly revealed sections.

The site offered up a wide range of clues. Clues about what had happened to the airship. Where it had happened. What kind of losses Team Galactic had suffered.
Seth and Faleen's investigation of the mechs was pretty telling. After inspecting one or two of the machines the reason so many of them were scattered around was clear. The explosion hadn't just come from inside the airship. It had come from inside the mechs. Every single one of the ruined machines had been blown up from the inside. Some still had remaining bits of casing from the explosives that'd been packed into them.
Sierra's, Claire's and 1337's Pokémon were treated to a wide range of unpleasant smells as they circled the area digging and hunting for signs of their lost teammates. The blast area contained all manner of inorganic debris, everything from machine parts to burnt paper to the ominously-smoking sandwich maker Seth had found. Their hunt would turn up plenty of dead Galactics, but no sign of Rockets. While not as exciting as finding their friends alive and well waiting behind one of the shattered mech pieces, not finding any indication that the Rockets had been in proximity to the blast was very good news. It meant they still had teammates to save.
Taking to the air, Claire would find no sign of unusual activity in the sky. From her vantage point she could be sure that the police weren't on their way either. Everything was calm and quiet.
Investigating the bodies, Frost would find nothing unusual. It was worth noting that none of the fallen Galactics appeared to be clutching weapons, nor were any of their Pokémon deployed. Whatever had happened, it caught them off guard.
Of the salvageable poké balls, there were just enough to divide up among the present team. Why not? It's not like they'd be any better off left here and Team Rocket certainly doesn't have any moral objections to confiscating pokémon that belong to someone else.
Working together the group had uncovered about all there was to be seen. Sadly there was no indication of where the Galactic ship had gone or where their lost friends might be.

[OOC: Well.. that's kind of a bummer. D: But on the bright side, you guys each get a normal color Pokémon! Huzzah for looting corpses.
You may roll a D6 in your next post to see what new friend you'll get to go home with. If you roll a pokémon you don't want you may decline or give it to someone else. (PM me whenever with certing info) (Staff may roll too).]

Seth gave the sandwich maker a swift kick as he realized it was completely useless. He then went back to surveying the mech parts along with Faleen, which yielded some very odd results. Although it wasn't exactly exciting since it wouldn't help them find Loreven or the other missing Rockets.
When he decided there was nothing else to find, the elite used his Rocket Dex to contact the others.
"Report back to the helicopter. We're leaving."
With that, he headed back for the chopper and waited for everyone else to arrive and pile in before getting in himself. A head count was done to make sure each Rocket was present.
"Report your findings, one at a time." He said as soon as Faleen got them back into the air.

Perhaps no news was good news? It was all they had to cling to at this point. Sierra solemnly made her way back towards the others, calling her Pokemon to her with a short, low whistle. While it was disappointing not to have found good news, or even a clue of where to go from here, at least they hadn't found any sign that their teammates had been involved in the explosive blast.
The most interesting, or at least the most encouraging discovery that Sierra had stumbled across had been a charred Pokeball. Blackened, yes, but the device seemed to be otherwise still intact. Even among the wreckage, something survived. Without hesitation, she picked up the device and attached it to her belt before moving on. Investigate that further in time; not now.
Returning to the others and reboarding the chopper, she nodded her head politely to her superiors, then directed her brief report towards the Elite. "Sorry, sir. No sign of the missing Rockets, for good or ill, nor of which direction those Galactic cowards fled." Her tone took a harsh turn, her eyes icy. Damn those dirty sons of Houndoom...

It wasn't until they were back in the helicopter that he noticed his boot was plus one decorative toothpick. He stared at it for a moment before pulling it out and holding it up to scrutinize it.
"What the hell?"

Back at base, the comm room had fallen silent. Everyone was waiting to hear the news over the speakers. This had been their first and best lead so far into finding Galactic. After a period of silence and occasional radio transmissions explaining what was found as it was found, the report they had been waiting for came in. Had the team found the missing Rockets?
Negative.
Alba closed his eyes against his still steepled fingers. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Oh sure, plenty of damage and debris and no bodies of the missing people and hoorah for a blow to Galactic, but no new leads. No escapees, no rescues. Alba silently took up his crutch and stood, shaking his head as someone moved to get the wheelchair that had been brought down for him and stowed in the corner. "Don't mind me. I'm just... going to step out for a moment."
A moment later, several people jumped at a loud bang in the hallway as Alba pounded his clenched fist once against the wall and then leaned into it. Dammit...

(Not going to roll for any of the pokemon :3 But going to be using this opportunity for Faleen to obtain Nachtara)
What she was finding so far was... alarming and at first she thought that there was something she was missing... something she wasn't seeing right.
Gloves fingers slid down one of the edges of the broken mecha, looking at the piece that... was very clearly blown out from the inside.
She was hardly able to believe it, she really wasn't. At first she assumed that maybe it was somehow a malfunction or flaw in Deimos' design, meaning that the Yanmega Jet might be subject to the same malfunction, but the more she searched the pieces, she started finding traces of what she could only identify as explosives... she would have to bring some back to make sure though.
Picking up one of the pieces, Faleen returned to her feet from her crouch, glancing around when a small pokemon made a noise close to her, finding a Pikachu that was trying to get her attention. Hazel eyes blinked in confusion, as the little electrice type walked up to her and handed her something.
a curious frown tugged at her lips as she bent down to take the booklet that was handed to her. turning it over a couple of times as eyes observed the charred surface. "... a logic book." she realized, then her lips thinned. Yeah, she remembers these, apparently Deimos was kept entertained by them from time to time by his blue haired second.
She took a couple of seconds to flip through it though, instead of tossing it away, wondering if this was one Deimos had maybe worked on.
She didn't get a lot of time though, before Seth was calling for them to leave. Her head lifted up, looking over at him before glancing back down at the Pikachu, eyebrows arched. "uh... thank you."
It probably would have been something worth just throwing away, but in all honesty, she wanted to thumb through it first, for amusement sake.
Stuffing it into her belt, she made her way over to catch up with Seth, blinking down at something he was looking at sticking out of his boot. ".. Uh, is that a toothpick sir?" she asked, not sure where that might have come from, and trying to hold back a small amused grin.
Faleen got back in her seat, making sure everything was ready for when the others got on board. While Seth asked the others for their findings, Faleen couldn't help but think about what they had found... Of coarse she couldn't really tell what happened, but from where she was standing, it looked like someone had done this on purpose.... but why? Oh the other hand, maybe it was just an accident, and the Mech were being used to transport the explosives.
The Agent's eyes narrowed softly as she stared out of the front shield on the chopper, gaze locked on one of the broken mech silently. She couldn't say for sure... but is this was done of purpose then why? and who? Her glare only hardened.

As he continued to have his Alakazam do most of the work, 1337 gradually fed Kunai some data.
Everything smells like burning and death! ROFL, only dead Galactics around, no signs of any Rockets.
It was about that time that his standard issue Rocket Dex spoke up in a familiar voice. Though his face continued to smile in a nearly uncaring manner, he mockingly whined out loud "BUUUUUUUUUUUUT SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETH...I AM HAVING TOO MUCH FUN DIGGING!" He really wasn't, but why would he be completely cooperative?
A decent distance behind Seth and Faleen, two Porygon-Zs arrived at the chopper prior to their owner. The pair seemed completely content in staring blankly towards each other and hovering in a circular pattern, almost like they were playing an artificial version of "Ring Around the Rosy."
The Jolteon made her way back to her owner as she eventually caught the sounds of the other Rockets making their ways back to the chopper, only to get recalled before even getting a chance to greet the man. If anything was evident, it would seem the Jolteon was perhaps the least respected tool of the hacker's arsenal. The Alakazam was returned to his Pokeball as well before the hacker managed to make it back to the chopper, finding his other two Pokemon in their "screensaver" mode, so to speak.
Tapping both the pink and the blue Pokemon on the heads, he said in a nearly motherly tone "Wake up sleepy-heads... we gotta go back..." He'd easily be able to access the data he needed later from the pair. Their Pokeballs were pulled out, one in each of his hands, and soon enough they were sucked back up into their respective balls.
Once in the chopper, the Elite demanded the results of their searches. Sierra reported first, which didn't seem to bother the hacker at all as he seemed to lounge back in a relaxed manner. Yet, whenever his turn came around, he stated like a whining child "Found dead bodies and scrap metal... not much else... kinda borin' if ya ask me!" With a heaved sigh, he then proceeded to start typing with one of his gloved hands.
If it wasn't obvious, he was reporting the general findings to the Elite Kunai.

What had begun as a rush of chaos and excitement, the first whisper of news since their teammates' abduction, the first glimmer of hope that they might get them back.. had been reduced to a helicopter full of dejected Rockets. Except for 1337, but he was always in a good mood.
They'd found important clues today, but they hadn't found their friends. It wasn't the kind of news Lucere had demanded of Seth. It was disappointing. There was no other word for it.
As Faleen steered the weary team home and those in the back took turns reporting their findings to Seth, a signal embedded in the 'copters controls started beeping. The green-tinted radar screen to Faleen's left was flashing. It had picked up something pulling in immediately behind them. It was small and coming in fast.
A moment passed, then another light started flashing. They were receiving a transmission. Just four words.
"We need to talk."
The fast-moving dot crawling across the radar overtook the Rocket 'copter and pulled to the right, in view of the side windows.
It was a gray and red pidgeot being piloted by a spindly figure in a long coat and a metal helmet.

Seth listened in silence as the Rockets made their reports, although he chose to ignore 1337's obnoxious whining. That Rocket wasn't at all useful except as Kunai's ridiculous puppet. Which did not earn her any points in his book.
He too thought about the findings that he and Faleen had come across regarding the mechas. The fact that they had been blown up from the inside was certainly odd and perhaps a little disturbing, if only because it couldn't easily be explained. It made no sense really. Why would the Galactics destroy their own mechs? And if they hadn't then who did? Certainly not their own, otherwise they probably would have escaped.
However, Seth was torn from these thoughts as something was picked up on the radar. He leaned over to study it with a frown, especially as a transmission came through. Rolling down his window slightly, he flicked the toothpick out in annoyance, just in time to catch sight of someone riding a Pidgeot next to their copter.
"What the?!"
He'd never seen this man before, and yet he'd read the reports regarding the ambush on the Galactic base. Seth quickly withdrew a gun and pointed it towards the lanky man mounted on the bird.
"Isn't he one of them?!" He asked of Faleen, who had been on that raid.
