Kall nuzzled Whisper and gave Blare another pat before returning to his mate. He nosed the cubs, then licked Fayola's cheek, glancing into the lands once more.
Something told him he should patrol.
"I'll return soon, be safe, all of you." He rumbled, and trotted out of the cave.

The next morning saw the little family starting to awaken. Fayola was curled around her cubs, the little bundles sleeping against her stomach. She yawned, roaring slightly. Each of the cubs were given a nuzzle and a lick.
"Kall?"

Kall stepped out of his morning bath in the falls and shook out his mane, trotting toward the cave. He had heard Fayola call for him, and answered her with elation.
"Yes my heart? My only one..." He purred, rubbing his cheek against her's. "You slept well, I trust?"

The Queen purred, rubbing back against his. "Yes, King." She turned her gaze back towards the cubs. "Ours...our cubs..." Fayola still couldn't believe it. Her cubs -THEIR cubs- finally born...finally there.

"Yes... As beautiful as their mother." He agreed, glancing over his children with pride.
Dashira stood on woobly legs and gave her brother a poke with her paw, tumbling back into a seat with a squeak.
Kall laughed. "Entertaining thing..."
Ferrian glared at his sister and growled. "Grrrrowr!"

Fayola nudged Kall's shoulder with her head. "I'm not the only one they got their looks from." One paw went to Ferrian, resting lightly on his back.
Keyisha yawned, snuggling up closer to her mothers stomach. She watched her sibs with something along the line of curiousity.

Nuika bounded into the area, following a vibrant blue butterfly. It wasn't long before the butterfly fluttered just beyond her reach, she lept up, trying to grasp it in her paws, but missed, and tumbled into the hind leg of a green lioness.

Fayola blinked as she heard scampering paws and then felt something hit her legs. She tore her eyes away from her cubs long enough to see the other one. "Hello, little one." Glancing back at the newborns she nudged the distinctly marked female. "What're you doing here all alone?"
Keyisha scrambled over a pile of rocks, enjoying her first day out of the cave. It was certianly interesting to explore.

Nuika's eyes went wide, "Erm... I've been alone for a long time..." She said honestly. She didn't really remember the last time she was with someone other than herself.

The Queen crouched down, bringing herself level with the little cub. "Oh..." Her heart went to the little thing. "What is your name? Mine is Fayola."

"Nuika. I am called Nuika." She said with a smile. She was going to like this lion, she had a feeling she would.

"That is a pretty name, Nuika." A gentle purr started. "The King isn't here at the moment, but I think he will let you stay." She reached out with one paw and pulled the green cub against her chest.
"And you're dirty." She admonished in a motherly tone. She set about cleaning the cub.
The princess stopped playing as she noticed her mother cleaning a new lion. The cyan-marked lioness scrambled down from the pile and headed over. "Hello..."

Nuika purred as Fayola gave her a bath. It had been so long since she's had any motherly attention. "I would like very much to stay..."

"Then you can." The Queen chuffed at her firstborn. "This is my daughter: Keyisha, Nuika."
The green cub smiled and nodded. "Nice to metcha, are you going to be staying with us?"

Whisper awakened with a start, her eyes searching about her, unfarmiliar with the dark cave interior around her. Then she remembered the previous day, and the events that had happened. She smiled softly, stretching as she walked toward the mouth of the cave, where she say Queen Fayola and a small cub that she didn't recognize. Cocking an eyebrow, she stopped. Bowing her head to the Queen.
"Good afternoon Queen. Who might this be?"
She asked softly, hoping she wasn't being too blunt.
Blare stood slowly from where he had been crouched over by the river. He had been over there in the first place to fish, but then had noticed his newly-grown appearance. He was a teenager now! A wide smile spread across his face as he trotted briskly back toward the cave, where he saw his mother exiting.
