Ante's blush returned with a vengeance. "Do you... really think that?" When she realized her emotions were showing, she suddenly shook her head and forced her poker-face back on. Why? Why was he able to get past her emotional mask so quickly?

Bruin smiled as he saw her composure slip, causing her voice to become a bit more feminine, but then she covered it all back up. "I do not lie." He said calmly.

Ante couldn't keep the blush from returning. It just appeared. She... didn't know how to respond to that, so she said nothing. She was happy for her helmet for hiding so much of her face, for she was positive that the rest of her composure was ruined as well.

"... I'm... unused to being talked to at all," Ante admitted softly, "by anyone outside of my family..." Vulnerable. Bruin was making her vulnerable. But she was too desperate for companionship to try and run away. In fact, her heart delighted in the situation. She scooted closer so that they were side-by-side, coats lightly brushing.

Bruin knew he radiated an uncommonly strong heat, so he tried to keep her from catching fire, the one thing he hadn't quite gotten control of just yet. "Ante... I won't run. Besides... I have a bet to settle." he grinned teasingly.

Ante draped her head across his shoulders, shivering at the sudden warmth. She wasn't used to it, but it was a pleasant change; being hairless meant being cold, after all. "... Good. Because I can't chase you. And I don't like being owed debts."

Bruin sighed and motioned for the female to follow him. "Come, Ant. Lets rest for the night. Besides, you are cold to the touch." he said, using that as an excuse just to spend more time with his pelt brushing hers.

Ante nodded and got to her feet to follow him. She stuck close to his side, wanting both his warmth and contact with another Azrien. It almost felt as if she was in a dream, with this perfect foil to her dilemma landing right in her path. But Bruin wouldn't be obligated to stay after he fulfilled her wish of children, not unless she convinced him to play again. But would he, after putting him in such an uncomfortable situation?

Ante happily nestled into Bruin's side, relishing the moment. And yet turbulent thoughts continued to rage just below the surface. "... Bruin? Do you believe in love at first sight?"

Bruin was quiet and considered Ante's question for a moment. Did he believe in love at first sight? His parents had supposedly fallen to this thing, so yes... He did believe in it. "Yes, I do believe in Love at first sight. Why?"

"Because I..." Ante paused, then shook her head and laid it across his neck. "... it's nothing. I was just curious." With how she'd obtained this time with Bruin, with what she'd asked of him... even if he did end up loving her, did she deserve it? It was better not to say anything...

Bruin watched Ante for a moment before shrugging and lay his head down on the soft ground. His forest green eyes closed delicately, though his ears still twitched, listening to the sounds around him, including Ante's breathing.

Ante closed her own eyes, sighing contently. Despite her conflicts about her feelings, she couldn't help thinking how nice this was. Bruin was warm and gentle. But, if the muscles were any indication, he was also strong. She felt... safe with the stallion.
