Sherry came to and found herself not on the ground and dead or covered in insanity beast remains or whatever would happen to someone who didn't make it out of the blast radius.

Instead she was nice and warm and pressed against her favorite person. She could handle that. Jake got a hug, or as much of one as she could manage. "Thanks."

She paused for one heartbeat, her brain still registering things, and then she leaned up (sorry for the weight shift) and kissed him on the cheek. Yes, Jake. You are her hero. Don't drop her.

There might have been a moment of stunned silence brought on by the general fear of falling and not really being able to stop it (though she did grab a hold of Jake), and further brought on by the impact and the wind being knocked out of her.

After that, however, she laughed. It was a happy sound. She also did her best to hug her hero, despite the fact that he was laying a little awkwardly upon her. "You alright?"

Sherry shook her head and chuckled slightly. "Don't worry about it."

Then she winced and exhaled, relaxing upon the ground. She was going to have a headache, she was pretty sure. And it might hurt to laugh for a bit longer. "Good work though, with the titan. And thanks again." She gave his head a soft pat.

She just needed long enough to catch her breath. That and the concern from Jake was more than enough; she was genuinely touched by his suggestion. She might have used the affair as an excuse to lean on him a little bit.

"We should probably see if there's anything salvageable first," she said, looking at the titan remains. "We can swing by the infirmary after the labs, though I'm sure I'll be fine. I'll just take it easy the rest of the day."

She smiled at him, even more touched, though she told herself that he probably forgot and not because of her. ... When she thought about it like that, though...

"I'm fine, really. Maybe a bit sore, but I'll live." She didn't think it had hit her head hard enough to cause a concussion or anything.

Her gaze ran over the titan rubble, then back to Jake. "Are you sure you're alright?"

She had to admit, she liked being carried. Made her feel special and protected. Even if Armagnac scoffed at the thought.

"Whoa. What?" Nothing but protest in her voice as she very firmly put her feet on the ground and looked at him with a mock scowl. "You wouldn't. Would you?" That was just plain unfair.

Sherry might have been a little banged up, but she was sure it wasn't that bad. "I don't suppose you'd come down to my room then?" Being pretty sure that she already knew his answer, she didn't wait long before sighing, "Okay." There was a pout and a hug. "But then I plan to nap in your room later."

She wasn't going to admit to being a little tired.

Armagnac was pretty sure this was behavior that should not be encouraged. This somehow made her a hypocrite, but she certainly didn't care.

Sherry on the other hand found it difficult to stay even pretend-grumpy, let a lone actually grumpy, in the face of cuddles.

"Deal," she said, grasping his hand in a firm deal-making handshake. Then she placed her head on his shoulder. "I still say I'm just as fine as you are."
