"Yes, I think I did," said Caster, suddenly worried he had been talking about himself too much. "My magic isn't Goblin Magic but it's closer than dragon magic so Eerinna, Princess Eerinna, was the best teacher for me. Helps that she loves down the mountain from us so I can go home at the end of lessons if I want, but I have a bedroom in the Palace and in the mountaintop.
"I suppose the brooms do move... probably at night when everyone's asleep."

Bree thought about the idea for a bit. "Actually that sounds pretty interesting. Now if only they made brooms that do that then I could have one clean my den." She chuckled a bit. "Although I guess everything has its own place." She stretched her wings out. "So...you sure they won't mind a dragon like me staying for the night at least? I would love to meet them too."

Caster blinked at her. "No," he said, "I don't think they care what you look like or who you are." He remembered something and smiled. "In fact, I think my teacher would have adopted my dragon brother if he spent any more time in the palace. He even looks a little like you. He would just roley poley around on his claws with his fat round tummy and cuddle up to people and follow them around. Eerinna loved him, very much I think."
He cleared his throat. "Shall we go? You can't miss it, it's at the foot of the last mountain before the sea."

Bree listened as he described his brother. "He sounds adorable." Bree followed after Caster. "Alright. I'll take your word on it then." She took to the sky and flew off. "I don't mean to sound nosy and what not, but what is your dragon brother like? Is he friendly?"

Caster swept down to hear her better. "Some would say he's a bit standoffish, but they don't know him well. He's just really quiet. He doesn't look people in the eyes. But he's the best person to go to when you want someone who won't ask you any questions. He gets used a lot. My other brother, the botanist, would take him to make him fly up and get herbs he couldn't reach." He yawned widely. "I am completely exhausted. I will be wanting dinner and then bed. Feels like today lasted half a year!"

Bree continued to listen to Caster as they flew to the palace. "I see. He seems really nice than. Quiet and noisy are both nice in their ways." She thought for a second. "Although I guess too noisy might prove annoying to some." She shook her head. "Yeah I agree with you. When I'm tired I tend to ramble more than usual."
Eventually once they got close she pointed at the castle."Is that it?" She touched down looking at it up and down. "Wow! This really is something."

"Yes, this place is incredible," said Caster, landing beside her. "One day, I will make something as wonderful as this. Anyway, we should scout out some dinner."
He took Bree to the kitchen and found a note from Eerinna, his teacher, and Zared, her mate. They were out for the evening; apparently her father was having a get-together dinner type thing to reopen the Kaiba mansion.
"We're fending for ourselves, I guess." He made up some sandwiched. "I'm sorry," he apologised, "but if I try something more creative, I will just pass out face first in the saucepan."
Afterwards, he showed Bree to the bedroom wing, or one of them. "I sleep down here," he said. "You can have..." he opened a door. "Oh, this one looks fine. You can sleep here, and I'll be down there if you need me. Goodnight!"
Just wanted to hurry past the pleasantries and onto the good stuff!

Bree nodded her head and followed after Caster. She ate the sandwich he offered and went off to the bedroom offered to her. "Thank you and it's fine. This will do just as nice." She watched as Caster walked off towards his bedroom. She just sat down on the bed wondering what type of ponies they were, but it didn't matter. She was so tired and Caster definitely seemed exhausted. Bree laid her head down and fell asleep. Hoping she wouldn't be a burden.
*time skip*
Once early morning had come she quietly got up and for a second completely forgot what had happened until she realized she was still in the ice palace Caster had graciously allowed her to stay the night. She quietly got up and walked down the hallway to Caster's room. However, she stopped herself. "Maybe I better let him sleep. He did seem tired." She looked around the quiet hallway. Perhaps she should leave, but she wanted to leave a note for Caster to let him know where she disappeared to. "Dear Caster, Thanks for showing me around Nightmare Valley and getting to know each other. It was fun and I really enjoyed it. I have gone back to my den one more time. Surely there must be something I can give you to show my appreciation. Sincerely, Bree" She slid the note under the door hoping no one else was awake before heading towards the door to leave.

Caster woke up and battered away some creeping rose vines, the way he did every morning. With his hair a glorious mess, he stumped to the door and suddenly heard something whcih was not the sound of his feet on teh floor, but a crunching noise. He picked up what he had trodden on and found it was a note from Bree.
"Oh," he said in some surprise. "I hope she didn't think I was going to do something... ungentlemanly." He finally settled on the word because skeevy sounded wrong.
He decided, because he didn't want to seem too forward, to wait for Bree to visit or write or something. He really didn't want to come off as a creepy stalker...

*time skip yet again* (by the way just so you know. She has no front horns atm)
It had been some days and Bree had wanted to see Caster again. Besides after all that help from Abraxas and Eden she was positive he might like this gift. "Now where did he say he lived again?" She landed on the mountain nearby scratching her head. "Oh that's right! He said in an ice palace." She bit her lip wondering if Caster was there. It had been a couple of days, but she was looking forward to giving Caster the book since it was really important.
She eventually flew a bit farther until she saw the ice palace again. She hesitated at first wondering what to do. She flew down and raised a hoof to knock on the door hoping not to come across as rude. Bree had a wrap around her head hiding where her horns had been. She didn't want to worry Caster or make him feel uncomfortable so she kept it on. However she did get some pangs of pain every now and then.

((OMG!!))
"Just a minute!" called Caster when he heard the front doors being knocked on. "Bugger... Hmmm" He concentrated very hard on the doors and they unlatched and swung open.
"Please come in!" he called out again. "Just take your left and then continue down and you'll find me! Sorry!"
Caster was very sorry he couldn't go to the door. He was currently hanging upside down by vines growing from the ceiling and it would take him too long to get free. He swung there, waiting for whomever it was to find him and say hello.

((Yeah, just wanted to make that known since she's wearing a head wrap and it's kind of obvious incase Caster notices.))
Bree watched as the doors swung open. She heard Caster's voice as well calling out for her to come. "It's me...Bree. I wanted to come back and give you something special I think you will like." She walked down the hallway still admiring the palace in all its splendor.
Bree eventually reached Caster's room to find him hanging. "Oh my goodness! Here let me help you!" She put her belongings down before heading over trying to untangle Caster from the vines. "I see you're the same just as ever. I'm glad I could get to see you again."

"Ah, wait!" he cried out as she headed for the vines. "Sorry, I'm very glad to see you, Bree; I have something for you also, but I'm training at the moment."
He coughed, the blood rushing to his head. "Well, I opened the door with my powers, because I'm stuck, right?" he explained. "I realised that I've been spending all my time and effort trying to control the vines, but if I didn't and tried to do other things with my magic, I can work around them. I had a... you know an... an epiphany." He coughed again and focused on Bree as he swung back and forth. "You look different," he said.
He sucked in an unsteady breath and one main vine became loose. It slid out from around the others and then all of a sudden all the vines became slack and Caster fell heavily. "Ugh."

Bree breathed a sigh of relief as she watched Caster release himself. "That's good." She watched as he fell down towards the ground. "Then I guess my gift for you will be worth it then." She smiled cheerfully so happy she could give him this. She went over to her sack and pulled out the green book. "I got this from the most powerful mage I knew of." She brought the book over. "It's a book that you can keep your spells in and it's blank so you can write them down." She handed him the book. "I think he said it also has a magic lock so others can't go snooping in it and also apparently it's pretty valuable." She stopped herself as she realized Caster definitely could tell. "Oh...well it's a long story. My head doesn't hurt as bad as it did."

As soon as Caster was right-side-up again and his vision returned to normal, he had studied Bree to see what exactly it was that was different about her. He realised the silhouette she cast, even with her scarf cover on, was a little strange, it wasn't sitting where it should be. He immediately considered what his mother would look like wearing that scarf and he laughed a little internally because the scarf would immediately be torn by her- oh!
This investigation had only taken as long as Bree had talked to him and he took the book from her numbly. At her last words he tore his eyes away from her face and looked at the book- he had not meant to stare, but his mouth was so dry. He wondered if it had been her decision, and if it was her choice it was no business of his, but to him it looked like some kind of terrible thing had befallen Bree, and if she didn't want to tell him about it, that was none of his business, either.
"Thanks, it's wonderful," he said automatically. Then he sniffed the book and expelled the breath from his nose sharply. "It is very powerful," he said, in a more interested tone. He opened the book and saw the pages were mottled with different stages of age. "I wonder why he protected it but never wrote in it... Oh!" He looked more closely at the pages. "I see! There was writing in it once, but some kind of protection spell wiped them out." he looked up at Bree, focusing on her face. "People do that, sometimes, to preserve their secrets. If a magician dies, a powerful one can erase his spellbook, the way a lot of magic is uncast when a normal magician dies. It's tricky, though, because you can't do it with a spell, which would uncast itself, all the writing has to be a spell itself... Or it can erase if you remove the spellbook from a specific place, or even if the person touching it has foreign magic... And to have the protection spell live on... That's a very powerful wizard, to have done it." Caster nodded at the book and then put it aside.
"I do have something for you," he said, and then realised his gift would probably not do Bree any favours if she wanted to cover her head. Well, he had got it for her, and she had hair on her tail... He opened his hooves in front of him and thought. A flash of rose light appeared in between his hooves and the comb was there. "I'm sorry I didn't think to wrap it," he said sincerely, offering it to her.
