so it's a close combat cannon that moves? The point of cannons is to have them stationary.

"Cannon" I think, refers to the gun, not the mount, and they can be vehicle mounted, towed, or in turrets, really.
I mean, a ship has cannons, so does a fortified building, and so does a tank, but I mean...
