Demyx immediately quieted down, staring at Bax with a rather hurt expression.
"sorry....."
Man, they really had grown far apart. The young one sighed, staring down at the table.
"Sheesh, moody much?"
Bax flicked a few bangs out of his face, glancing at the thief beside him.
"You do realize that if you hurt the kid, I'll have to hunt you down and kill you."

"You know this kid?!" Herman asked in an incredulous tone. Why would an assassin befriend a hyperactive runt like this? Unless....maybe the young audio was even more important than he'd guessed.
"I'm not going to hurt him," the thief smirked slyly. It was the truth of course. He wouldn't hurt him...just use him to get a crapload of money, but the assassin didn't need to know that.

"I wouldn't try ransoming him either...he's powerful, and his friends are even stronger than he is."
Bax shrugged it off, relaxing in the seat.
"He helped me..when I lost my memory..."
"Yeah, but you have others to care for you now. I don't have to babysit you further."

"You don't think they'd pay to have him back?" Herman growled, annoyed that the assassin had guessed his plan.

"These are more the type to kick your a** and take him back forcefully. I'm sure you've seen his water powers by now, yes? Well the others are even stronger than him...in fact, from what I gather, he's one of the weakest of the thirteen."
"Saix is really strong..."
Of course, Saix wouldn't want him back, but that was another story.

The thief frowned. He must admit, he hadn't considered this. "They can't take him back if they can't find him! And they wouldn't kill me if I was the only way to lead them to him," he reasoned, trying to salvage the plan.

Demyx, lost in this conversation, looked around the restaurant to entertain himself.

Herman thought a moment. "All I have to do is lock him in a hotel with candy and toys. He should stay long enough for me to get the money....after I find out how to get to the castle."
Smiling at Demyx upon her approach, the waitress quickly crossed to their booth and slid a large bowl of cookie dough ice cream over to the youth. Setting down Herman's order as well, she suddenly took notice of Bax's presence. "Oh! Can I get you anything sir?" she asked sweetly.

Demyx perked up at the idea of candy and toys, grinning over at Herman and Bax. That sounded like fun! But just a few more seconds and suddenly there was ice cream in front of him. Thus the toys and candy were forgotten.
"Thank you!!"
The young one happily squeaked, soon digging into his treat.
"I'm fine..."
Bax sipped at his Sprite, keeping quiet on Herman's plan while the waitress was around.

"Thanks," Herman grunted gruffly, grabbing the beer and taking a swig.
The waitress smiled. "Enjoy!" Winking at Demyx, she hurried off in the direction from which she'd come.

Once the waitress had left, Bax returned his gaze to the thief beside him.
"From what I gather, that castle can only be found by Audios from the Organization, or those they choose to take there. Besides, even if you did find it, and led them to Demyx, you do realize they could just kill you and take him after they know where he is."
Demyx, preoccupied with his ice cream, stayed out of the current conversation.

"But I wouldn't lead them to him myself. If they caught me, I wouldn't tell them unless they let me go..with the money. I'd give them the location after I'd gotten away," Herman smirked, his concern over being caught easing away with the aid of the liqour. Eyeing the pizza hungrily, he quickly took a bite. Mmm...he loved pizza. "Mmph....and if I can't get to the castle, maybe we can lure one of them here. Like his dad, the rich one." The thief grinned greedily, satisfied with his new plan.

"The kid doesn't have a dad."
Bax eyed the thief, annoyed with Herman's plan to toy with any family the kid had. Such a plan just hit the assassin wrong, seeing as his own family had been manipulated around him oh so long ago. Of course, he had done the same to many other families, but then again he was, at times, protective of Demyx.
"Luxord's my daddy, but not really...I just call him that."
The youth piped up in between bites of his ice cream.
