Gage "stepped" aside as soon as the blue Frei headed in his and the female Raevan's direction. While Gage was sure he wanted to make Melisande smile again, he knew he would have quite the opposite effect if he really tried for it. He had focused on the dropping petals when the girl had first seemed to become upset, and the mere idea that his touch would harm Melisande or her flowers was quite disturbing. In hopes of detaching himself from the situation, the green Frei departed from that little group, fleeing to the rather popular hiding place at that moment. Namely, the kitchen.

Vyn carefully accepted the glass from Sevilin with a bow of her head in thanks. She stared at the clear crystalline glass with wide eyes--she had never drunk water out of anything other than a bottle before. Tasting a sip, she was surprised to discover that the water tasted better than anything she had drank before.
She was startled again when the other dark Frei she had felt a strange affinity to suddenly reached over and stroked her hair. However, it was strangely soothing and her eyes became half-lidded with pleasure, and Vyn would have purred if she knew how.
Lazarus at this point suddenly left, leaving a blazing path behind him like a flaming beacon for others to follow. Rivener followed after the Firey Frei, glancing back seductively at Vyn and motioning for her to follow.
Hovering in place in some uncertainty, Vyn wasn't sure whether she should go at first, but at length decided to follow them because the place they were headed to was out of the sun, and seemed to be darker and full of shadows as well. Leathery wings beating gently, she floated along after them and into the kitchen.

For a moment, as she hugged Sev, Melisande was happy. She could do this! The moment she pulled back, however, her eyes settled on Gage's retreating back. The same with Laz...and the dark one....and the girl with the roses. One by one, each simply left.
Eyes wide, Pasha stared...drifting backwards in shock. Only Sev was left, and even he glanced that direction. Bumping gently into Luka as she moved back, Meli gasped with a start, and her nerve finally broke.
Twisting with a snap of ribbon, Meli fled back out the door she'd just come through...leaving just a few petals and a single, sparkling tear. She knew beauty, and now, she knew pain.

Sev paused for a moment, shocked at how suddenly she few away, crying. He looked around, bewildered, and saw that no one was around. They had all left him -- her -- or rather, them. After a moment's thought, he realized fully why she was upset.
And he was mad.
Eyes widening slightly, he prepared himself to yell at them -- Laz, especially -- for doing this, and raced after the pretty Raevan that he didn't know the name of.

In truth, Vyn hadn't even seen the three Raevens near the entrance that Sevilin had approached. She had merely followed the others out purely because she had nothing better to do, and now she was lost.
Drifting along cautiously about the unfamiliar place, Vyn had paused here and there in the shadows, her curious yellow-black eyes wide as she took in everything before her. When she paused to gently touch a tinkling windchime, Vyn had glanced ahead only to realize that she had drifted too far behind, and that the others who she had been following had disappeared a long time ago. She had halted there for a moment, hesitant. Where should she go now?
She could no longer see the blazing trail Lazarus left behind, and Rivener was no longer in sight, either.
Lost, Vyn had decided to just follow the tinkling windchimes and bamboo planks and was surprised to find that it led her back to the opening near the lake where Shuura had dropped her off at the beginning. She glanced up and noticed an unfamiliar Raeven. He was pure white and blended so brilliantly into the pool of sunlight shining on him that she hadn't seen him at first. Curious, she approached him slowly, despite her usual disinclination to stay in overly bright-lit areas.

Rivener pouted and stopped floating forward. He'd lost Laz from view, and now Vyn was gone from behind him, too. He was all alone in the corridor, and wasn't sure which way he had to turn. He crossed his arms in annoyance and looked left and right as he inched forward, looking for a clue as to which door would lead to the kitchen. This was a house, not a maze; the kitchen should be easy enough to find.
Hearing something behind him, Riv spun around with a smirk, ready to "pounce" so to speak, but he deflated visibly when he saw that is was just Gage, following them into the kitchen area.
"Oh, it's you, Gage," Riv stated. Then, he perked up. "Do you know where the kitchen IS, exactly? I seem to be a little lost," he explained.

It was hard to say if Meli was still visible. Only the end of her ribbon peeked out of the branches, giving away her lonely little spot in the tree. She felt better almost as soon as she was outside...she was still getting used to feelings, as Aki put it, and sometimes they were a bit overwhelming.
Wiping her cheek with one little fist, Pasha wrapped her arms around the trunk and sighed. It was okay if they didn't like her...after all, Aki did! And Elle, and Levi, and the boy at the ice cream parlor that always blushed! Smiling a bit at the thought, Meli let her eyes closed and whispered a song to herself...unaware that the dulcet tones reached farther than the branches.
It was going to be a long night.
