Cloudy days seemed to be a ideal time to fly.. exspecially when there was mischief making afoot. Not having the strength to change others for a while, it grinned broudly at the prospect of changing someone. But.... to find the right one is the question.
See, the being wasnt a god of anysort. It mostly did did the change, and fled for long periods of time to sleep it off. It might be a godly power yes... but it caused a lot of strain.
Soaring leasurly it decided to take its time choosing, though this peace didnt last for too long. Grinning it swooped down with a flutter of its wings and landed on the window ledge on Kaleb's apartment. It wasnt kalebs window.. or even near it, at the moment it would be virtually invisible to him if he tried to seek the being.
Words didnt need to be said, a new skill was learned by the being. Overriding the audios headphones, a scratchy voice spoke into Kaleb's ears. "Does thou seek power? "

Kaleb had been in the process of reaching into a dark drawer in his desk in search of the coupons, but he yelped and wrenched his hand backwards when he heard the creepy voice in his ears. With a scramble and a loud thud, he tripped over a stack of books on the floor behind him and landed on the carpet in the middle of the toppled pile.
The scrawny mage scrambled back to his feet and fidgeted nervously. He was pretty sure the voice didn't have anything to do with that dark desk drawer, but he quickly reached over and slammed it closed anyway as he looked around to see what might be responsible.

Outside, the being facepalmed and shook its head.

Shifting its body the being seemed to purr softly.

Back on the street, Demyx stared at the spot where his friend had been rather blankly. Had...had his friend just teleported? With a portal? It hadn't looked the same as the Organization ones...but...still...
"Well..erm...I guess it's just us?"
Green eyes shifted to blink at Riley, the body of the sitarist shifting nervously.

Kaleb nervously adjusted his glasses as he wandered into the next room, since he couldn't seem to see anything that could be talking to him. At least whatever it was, it didn't sound particularly hostile.
"Y-you a-asked if I w-want power?" he stammered, still looking around his apartment with frightened glances. He really just wanted to portal out of there and go back to the safe company of his friends, but it would be rude to just leave, and it was awkward to try and converse when you couldn't see what you were conversing with. Eventually he wandered out onto the balcony to see if it were something outside his apartment that was talking to him.

"indeed." Tapping its fingers on its shoulder a muffled noise was made, it had a slight hint or irritation now. BUT, at least the audio replied!
"I did ask for you see, i have a way to give you power if you crave the need. Stronger powers will bloom so its up to you... so reach for your voice already and choose!" There was a bit of flare added to the end for added effects.

Kaleb winced and gripped the balcony rail tightly to keep himself from fidgeting nervously. Whatever it was offered power, but there wasn't enough information. Would it be power he could use to help his friends, and at what cost would he receive it? Nothing was free, and all his strength at that point was from hard work and long hours.
Still, he had made a promise to himself, that he would get stronger so he could help those who needed his help. He swallowed a bit before he found his voice. "W-will it let me help others?"

It was the truth, afterall. Ths 'change' would give Kaleb stronger powers, because he would be considered one of the highest of the alignments.. if not -the- highest. But with great power comes great responsability, and yes i had to use this over-used quote sue me.

".... i hate it when he does that like that." He stared at where the portal had been and shook his head. "Yea .. guess it's just us." He grinned at Demyx. He really didn't know what to say to Kaleb's friend now that Kaleb was gone.

Kaleb bit his lower lip. He was awfully afraid at that moment, because he could either pay whatever price was required to gain the strength he wanted, or refuse and possibly spend the rest of his life wondering if he would have been strong enough.
He turned around and headed back inside, whatever it was seemed to be able to speak to him and hear him from any location, so he might as well be inside where he felt less vulnerable. Surrounded by all his books, he knew what choice he would make. If it meant he would be strong enough to help everyone, the cost was irrelevant.
"I-I'll pay whatever price you want," the little healer replied after several long and painstaking moments. His voice shook slightly, but it was backed with the same determination that kept him working at his magic day after day.

Demyx was still pretty curious about the portal, but hey...if Kaleb could teleport himself, it'd be easier to visit each other more often.

"You can do that too?" He was starting to wonder why there wasn't Materia that could make portals like that. He wouldn't want to use them any more if there were Materia but still.
