Nessa stood before a graying centaur, his herd ringed around, ready to kill her if she attempted anything. "Lower you weapons! That is no way to treat the Blue Lady!" the cheiftain bellowed. His herd reluctantly complied. "How can we serve you. m'lady?" he asked, bowing to her. "I request a favor." Nessa said hesitantly. "And if you can't do it, it's alright." "We can preform whatever task you wish us, Lady Beltane." the cheiftain replied. Nessa smiled. "I need your herd in the Great Hall of Hogwarts in a week's time." shouts of outrage filled her ears, and it took several minutes to quiet them. "May we ask as to why you require this?" The cheiftain said skeptically. "The woman called Umbridge is there." "Who?" the cheiftain asked. "You'll hear me refer to her as Umbitch." She said nonchalantly. the cheiftain grinned. "It is done." Nessa nodded and turned to leave. "My Lady?" Nessa turned back to him. "Will Lady Samhain walk among us this harvest moon?" Nessa smiled. "My cousin is present this year. She will most definately walk among you." The cheiftain nodded. "All you must do is Wisp us in, My Lady. We can do the rest from there."

Samantha scanned them over quickly again, and stood from her seat, leaning on her desk a little, as if she needed support to keep her standin. Her long black cape overflowed off of her petite body. "Why thank you.." She said softly, her tone wasn't exactly kind, though it was rude either. "May I inquire as to what your names are, ladies?" She asked, again neither rude nor kind.

Sunrise looked around quickly, making sure the Professor wasn't speaking to someone behind her, before responding in a small timid voice.
"I am Sunrise Addams, ma'am."

"Well, it's very nice to meet you, Miss Addams," she replied, her voice cool and gentle; semi-kind. "And your name, Miss?" She asked, looking at Iris.

The Slytherin raised a brow at Mrs. Snape as she inquired about her name. She blinked and pushed her long hair behind her left shoulder before letting her eyes settle on the Professor.
"I am Iris Nightshayd. Pleased to meet you. My father works for the Ministry of Magic, something to do with keeping an eye on Muggles or something. He's well known among the Ministry."
With that said the Slytherin glanced at Sunrise and smiled a bit, tilting her head to the side. Not every smile was nice.

"Greatful you told me so, pleased to meet you as well." She responded quietly, her eyes remaining on Iris for a little bit more. She broke her stare and looked around the classroom at the rest of her students. So many of them just sat silently, probably wishing they were still abed... "As all of you should know, the most important ingrediant to Magical Potions... is the ability of magic. Be that as it may, witch or wizard, not all of you have the gift of wonderous magical abilities. Hogwarts was created to inform and perfect any amount of magic in you, however small or large that amount is," Samantha said coolly, putting her slender hands into her rather large cloak pockets. "Before we begin on the interesting and dangerous potions, we need to cover the basics, and perfect your basics, as best as we can." She paused, only slightly, once again looking them all over, taking in their appearances, their responses and their attitudes. "How many of you have used Snake Venom, or even seen Snake Venom?" She asked. Inside of her pocket, she twirled a small, glass test tube between her index and middle finger.

For the second time that class period, Sunrise's hand shot up in the air. She used Snake Venom in a sleeping draught the year previous.

Riane fought the urge to nudge Sunrise in the side. She didn't want the attention drawn anywhere near herself. But she kept her arm down by her side. What if he notices the hair? she thought frantically.

Nessa walked down the hallway in a daze. She had gained the centaur's alleigance in her plan, but she had also promised her cousin's appearance at the harvest moon. She didn't know whether or not her cousin would agree, being recently married and all. She stopped in front of the potions classroom to see Madame Proffesor Snape twirling a vial of venom between her fingertips. "You already give them basalisk venom, cousin. You rush into things." She mumbled, and sat against the wall, waiting for class to be finished.

Samantha looked past the class out the door to see Nessa waiting for her. She smiled politely, but continued on. "Yes, Miss Addams?" She asked; indicated towards Sunrise. She lowered her arm slightly; it was getting tiring holding the stupid test vile. She finally put her arm down, slowly, to her side. She had her face towards Sunrise, but her eyes kept darting towards Nessa. Eventually, she stopped looking at her, and concentrated fully on Sunrise.

"Well last year I was experimenting with a few more advanced potions in my textbook, and neutralized the venom to make nothing more than a powerful sleeping draught. It is also used in antidotes, which I find slightly ironic, but you can think of it as you will," Sunrise said quickly, the last part with a small shrug.

"Very well done!" Samantha praised, her voice a little bit chipper. She was only slightly surprised, though, since the girl looked to be an 'experimenter'. She smiled at her kindly. "This year, we will be doing a bit with Snake Venom. It's the first subject we will cover. However, first we may do the Sleeping Potion, and maybe by next week if I feel you all are ready... we will do more serious solutions of it." She paused only slightly, her eyes leaving Iris and sweeping over the whole class. "I know your Houses have their own Point system, however... we will have a Potions point system as well. It will not be done by Houses, rather by groups, or individually if you'd prefer. On a weekly basis, you will compete against each other to create an accurate potion, and antidote. The potion will differ week to week, and I will not tell you how to make an antidote, but the antidote must be made first, naturally. Today, our classes are just beginner-welcome-back-to-school classes and our very short, so they will not begin tomorrow. But starting tomorrow morning, you will be starting your first assignment. Your points will allow me to give you your grades. Any questions?"

Iris sat silently for a bit, listening as Mrs. Snape questioned the class on the use of Snake Venom. She couldn't say that she had used Snake Venom for it's rightful purpose of creating a sleep draught or as an antidote. Instead a slight smirk played across her face as Iris thought of the many possibilities the venom could be used for. She wasn't as evil as many people thought, but the idea of using venom intrigued her and she continued to listen to Mrs. Snape and Sunrise dicusses the ways in which the venom could be used to make a sleeping draught.
The next idea made the Slytherin's eyebrows raise as Mrs. Snape mentioned a sort of competition that would be taking place between the Houses in Potions class. Now this was interesting! Iris blinked and smirked again, settling her eyes on the professor.
"I think this...competition idea sound intriguing. I believe this is how it should be with all of the Houses, to see who comes out on top in which subjects." Iris said curtly, glancing towards Sunrise. "This ought to be fun, don't cha think? Are you up for a challenge little missy?" Iris said to Sunrise in more a whisper, winking her way.

Samantha smiled, though it was more like a devilish grin. Her eyes flashed a quick red, but when she blinked, it was gone. She glanced towards to the door, searching for Nessa, who was still standing there, but she turned her eyes back to the class. She was suddenly very serious. "Competition... is a dangerous battle. It's not quite like dueling, but people do get hurt. Our people will not get hurt. We will not be competing like it's for life and death, however much a grade seems to be life and death for some of you. Someone even threatens another classmate, naturally I have to send you to detention and the HeadMaster... but for my class, it will not be a fun class anymore. I like hands-on work, I love competition.. someone ruins that for me, and I ruin it for all of you. We can go from doing potions and having fun, to straight textbook material. You learn the same stuff you're supposed to learn for your O.W.L.'s, most people just tend to prefer hands-on. Am I right? We want hands-on and fun?" Samantha finished, scanning over the classroom. This class would not be a problem for her... they seemed to actually like Potions, so they wouldn't dare screw it up for someone else, because they then screw it up for themselves too. No, her students liked Potions, and they were selfish enough to not care about the other students that much to do something stupid that could get her into trouble...

"Did you really just call me 'Little Missy?' My goodness who are you, my grandmother Betsy?" Sunrise whispered to Iris out of the corner of her mouth. How ridiculous would this stuck-up Slytherin prove to be?
