Deimos So, I'm not really digging Finger Eleven's latest CD. That might sound like a blasphemous thing to say, but I'm finding the album just.. lacklustre. It has all the energy of a Ben Stein commercial. Aside from Paralyzer, the lyrics of which have been passed around MSN screen names like a bong at a Green Peace convention, the songs have redundant lyrics and a nearly narcoleptic effect. Seriously, I don't think I can get through Window Song without yawning at least once. At the three minute mark of most songs I find myself waiting for them to end. Whatever happened to beats like Famous, Above, For The Ocean, Bones and Joints? They've gotten progressively mellow, mellow beyond mellow, so mellow they sound like they've just gotten lazy. I'm somewhat disappointed. Maybe I'm just moving toward more thrash metal (and in fairness, I sort of am; Soilwork, Disarmonia, Deadlock, etc.) but I've always considered myself a fan of FF11, since their inception after the Rainbow Butt Monkey days. Now it's all butt monkey. Where's my damn rainbow? stressed Oh, you're one of those people. I happen to enjoy the new album quite a bit. Granted it's nothing like the sound that made me a fan of them, all those years ago, but I can still find a place in my ears for it. I was really surprised at how many people I saw saying that they didn't like the new album because it didn't sound anything like the Greyest of Blue Skies. I found the last album to be pretty friggin different too, though. And I didn't like it as much as this new one. Anyway, I can respect your opinion, but what I don't like is how people just don't like it because it's different. It's not like these guys are the same as they were 7 or 8 years ago, I wouldn't expect them to keep writing the same stuff over and over again. And I wouldn't buy it if they did. I happen to think that a band that doesn't change it sound over a couple of albums isn't a band worth listening to.

I should "un-lazy-fi" myself and start taking lessons for my driver's lisence (I never knew where to put the 's' or the 'c' in that word). Ah! By the way, I know I'm being random but I work at a small outlet belonging to the canadian post office so if ever you happen to be sending something into Montreal, I'll make sure I read through it first before letting go of it! fufufufu
