"Yes. Let's," replied Sirius, a little stiffly. It wasn't his fault that Kailyn had fallen in with the wrong lot. When they'd gotten into their seats (and he and James had been amongst the last to enter the classrooms), a loud bang resounded, and it seemed as though the lights (if there had been any) had gone off. Sirius straightened, staring at the unusual silohuete that he assumed was Professor Trenway. "Is this one bonkers too?" he muttered to James.

Lily skidded into the classroom at the last minute. She flew into her seat and got out her books just in time. "What's gotten into you Lily? You're always early. Snap out of it!" she reprimanded herself. Lily took out her homework and set it in front of her, smoothing out a slight rumple in the corner. "There... perfect," she breathed with a small grin.

Suddenly, inches away from Sirius's left ear.... "Oh no, Mr Black. I am much worse than bonkers..." Professor Trenway whispered. She stood up, the lights came on again, and the windows opened as she walked back to her desk, 'tsking' as she went. "I am somewhat disappointed by the lack of positive reaction, but at least only a few of you screamed like girly cowards." She smirked. "But again, only about two and half of you figured it out. So that is rather frusterating. I heard not a single 'Lumos', either!
"Oh, well. I suppose I will have to work with what you are, and beat some sense into you silly sixth years. Now, I need a few volunteers...." She said, looking around the room with wand in hand.

Sirius attempted to swallow as he heard Trenway whisper into his ear, but found that he was quite incapable. He exchanged glances with James, and watched Trenway interestedly. This clearly wasn't your average teacher. When she asked for volunteers, Sirius smirked, raising his hand nice and high, and expecting his friend to do the same.

Lily, being the perfect student as always, raised her hand into the air calmly. She looked around to see who else was volunteering and saw Sirius. She sniffed arrogantly and turned her attention back to Professor Trenway.

James looked at Sirius, and shook his head. You gotta be kidding me....

Gwin took head of the crew, muttering under her breath, "Screw the brave and fearless leader, I think I know this teacher!" ash she sped them down the tunnels. Gwin bolted from a tapestry of a unicorn and a maiden, shaking her head violently free of any possible critters that may have lodged there while the foursom moved throughout Serpent's Pass. "The door should be right down this hall-way." Gwin reminded herself of where she was. Navigation was always a necissity when Gwin worked in the darker tunnels. Not that she had a problem with the dark. She smirked as she practically dragged her friends to the door, that should have been open. She stopped.
Sure enogh, it was the Defense Against the Dark Art's classroom.
Gwin turned to the only orginized one in the group (or, to her knowlege)- Nadia.
After a brief moment, Gwin shrugged, and turned to the door, rolling up the arm of her right sleeve as she did so. She and Leah's older sisters had this teacher and warned to be ready for anything. Anything.
Gwin tried the door-handle. Nothing. It wouldn't budge. Not locked, but un-moving.
Gwin gave a little huff. Okay, see if knocking would admit them. She knocked. Again, nothing.
Inside, the knocking was not heard, but the small mirror on Trenway's desk showed the four girls gathered outside the door. Gwin stepped back. So, knocking wouldn't work, the doorhandle was under a protective spell. "So...." she turned to Leah. "Ahlamora, and then knock it down? Or should we-"
Reason got the better of Gwin, and she didn't even finish her sentence. "Nevermind." she muttered, and pulled out her wand. Thankfully, she still posessed her mother's wand, and had been using it ever since Rhea had gone haywire.
Gwin prodded at the (presumedly) locked door. "Alahmora." she whispered. With a little more than a second of pulling her wand back, Gwin seized the door-handle, and gave it a vicious twist. Her hand felt as if it had been burned, and she heaved back, hissing. Simutaniously, her hip stung.
"Alright. Whoever rigged this up knows we're here." she winced, turning back to the Rogues. She glared at the door before saying to the other three girls,
"Now can we knock it down?" rather sarcasticly.

Leah rolled her eyes. "But of course! Why not try to make a good impression on our first day of DADA?" She snorted. She too remembered to good-humoured warnings of graduated siblings.

Kailyn shrugged. She'd rather not make a negative impression on a teacher on the first day, but then, it might be fun... Would it hurt to make a little scene?

Sirius was semi-surprised to see James's response, but he kept his hand outstretched anyway. Being at the front of the class, with almost infinite possibilities to disrupt it, suited him very, very well.

Prof. Trenway looked at Sirius, mentally deciding that he would a fine vict- er, volunteer. Heh. Evans? Nah, not this time. Hm, what about our visitors outside? Speaking of which.... Trenway looked around the room, seeing about four other hands. She put on an indecisive expression. "Hm, so hard to decide." She remarked. "Give me a few more seconds, eh? You, with the face." She said to a random sudent, who happened to be Arthur Weasley. "Count down from 7, please."

Arthur looked non-plussed, but started counting Slowly and clearly. "Seven, six, five, four...."

"...three, two, one."

At that exact moment, the Professor waved her wand at the door. Gwin, Leah, Kailyn and Nadia came bursting in, as they had just been trying to break in anyways. With no resistance, they almost fell to the floor.

Professor Zatanna Trenway smiled. "Right. Nice of you four to join us, ladies." She waited for the laughter to subside, then clapped her hands. "Okay, I've decided. You," She pointed to Sirius. "You, you, you, and the four of you upstarts, minus Miss Morano. Nadia, you may sit." In the end, she had selected Sirius, Remus, Talos, Kailyn, Leah, Gwin, and Brian Chang.

Remus furrowed his brow. He wasn't used to being a volunteer. Or really having any attention at all drawn to him, for that matter. He rather enjoyed being part of the backdrop for Prongs and Padfoot's pranks. Sirius, meanwhile, smirked. Well, it wasn't as though I really was a volunteer, Moony consoled himself. I hadn't had any say in the matter at all.

Trenway motioned them up to the front of the classroom, where was a reasonable space to work. The professor wasn't quite satisfied though, and with a definite swish of her wand, all the chairs (With the students in them) moved back several more feet, until there was a large space in front of the classroom.

"Now, the rest of you pay close attention to what your brave fellow classmates are doing, please." She lined them up so they couldn't get in each other's way, then faced them, wand in hand. "Defend yourself!" She barked, and Swish! Flick! Went her wand.

Kailyn, having good reflexes, stepped forward and deflected the tap dancing jinx and nose growing charm. "Quick, group togther!" She hissed, seeing that Trenway was moving, and about to fire another salvo. Gwin, Leah and Kailyn jumped together, back to back, wands up just as Trenway started again.

"Quick, to the left!" Trenway said, grinning as she fired to the right and caught Brian Chang off guard. His hair slowly started to fall upwards, eventually standing straight up.
Now the Professor was having fun. She sent another five jinxes to the Rogues, and then three towards Sirius and Remus. "You see class, change these spells to deadly hurtful ones, and it's practically like if someone was attacking you! See how the girls grouped together. Good! Brian was distracted though, and if it was a battle, he could be dead. Take note here, class." She instructed, still moving around to fire off jinxes at differant angles. Zatanna Trenway loved her teaching style....

Sirius warded off the spells a little late, and he heard his heel give the floor a defiant clack before he was on his guard, throwing out his wand and shielding himself against the next three hexes.

Remus, meanwhile, was wide-eyed as he let years of experience bouncing around with Padfoot and Prongs take hold him. He dodged the first two spells, purely by luck, and his knuckles turned white around his wand as he ground his teeth, shielded himself, and attempted to convince himself that he was not being attacked by his Defence Against the Dark Arts professor. That would be unnatural.
