Just remember Dave...all hospitals will bargain with you. They would rather get something than nothing. So if insurance does not pay for it all and you have something left that is higher than what you can pay, just tell them that they get such and such an amount from you or they will get nothing.

Ugh what a nightmare that was. And many since!
The latest is how badly I sunburned myself this past Sunday morning. Not able to move because the natural rustling of socks and shirtsleeves when I walk or perform a function are just too painful!
But now I have aloe vera and this is becoming tolerable!

Oh you poor thing. Isn't aloe vera a miracle? I once broke a bit off of a plant and I put it on a cut and I didn't scar at all.

Gah, stupid pharmacy. Either the automated refill line isn't working correctly, or I go through a ton of medication each month. Really, it's both, but it's a pain having to call everything in each month when it supposed to automatically refill. *sighs* At least my insurance doesn't give me problems over the five vials of insulin in 20-25 days thing...

Even more fun news, this time from my insurance company. It turns out they need my doctor's authorization to be on the insulin I'm currently taking. What the hell? Like I'm gonna shoot up insulin to give me the jollies, 'cause that TOTALLY happens everyday. It's not even a new insulin, I've been taking it since it came out, and that was when I was what, eleven, twelve years old? that's a mighty long time for a drug, seeing as how I'm pushing 24 now. *groans* I hate insurance companies, the one I used to be on was so much better, I didn't even have to pay a copay with them. Stupid medicare...*kicks things* I know that a doctor's authorization for this kind of thing isn't hard, what pissed me off was the letter saying they don't cover it AT ALL. I had my mom help me (cause if I had done it I would have yelled and screamed and had a breakdown) so she told me to have all my docs send in the authorization because if this one isn't authorized, none of them will be. *kicks medicare* Stupid stupid stupid.

Oh now that is a drag. But I am sure it can get straightened out. They are forever changing things on me too with a couple of my stomach meds but oh well. Insulin is different though. You started it rather early. No pump? Or are you not a tight control person? Or maybe your control is good without a pump... I'd be so worried, I'd probably check my glucose like 5 times a day. However, see, I need to lose weight and then I won't be borderline anymore. My HbA1c was 6.5. I have not had it taken again, but I should since I eat a lot of sugar/starch items. *sighs* The last thing I need is a peripheral neuropathy and or maybe a nice retinopathy. I swear...as soon as I get home I am going on a low glycemic diet.

Luckily I found out that they will cover it, they just need my doc to fax them some stuff. My docs want me on a pump, but they want my blood sugars in better control before they do it or it could shock my system apparently. It's not like I don't try to control it either, it's just that one of the meds I take for bipolar disorder makes it harder to control blood sugars. *sighs* Sometimes it seems like it's two steps forward, three steps back. But I am doing so well on what my psychiatrist put me on my endocrinologist doesn't want me off of it, so he's compensating with more insulin, we just have to find the right doses and when to take it. So I'm getting there, slowly but surely.
