Hearing the soft knock on the door, the Brit glanced over his shoulder slightly. He watched the Japanese man enter his room, trying to push back the small wave of discomfort that his illness was causing. Ever since the nations under his rule declaring independence, he had been somewhat ill and weak. He had been trying to hide it through many different ways, most of all between his drinking and his attitude.

He was silent when Kiku placed his phone onto the bedside table. "Nng, it's all right," he murmured, peering up at Kiku. "Ah, Alfred's coming, then? Good... And he doesn't have to pay for my phone bill, my government covers..." He trailed off when Kiku asked if he was all right and placed a hand on his forehead.

Worry filled Arthur, although he tried to keep it at bay. However, there were times he was an open book. He prayed that this wasn't one of those times. If people were aware that he was weak like this... He couldn't imagine the things that might occur.

He resisted the urge to give a sigh of relief when Kiku halted, most likely realizing he had been drinking earlier. "Um... I'm fine..." A light blush marred his cheeks, a bubbling feeling of shame accompanying his drinking habits again.

"Um... I'll get your clothes from the wash.. Th-they should be done," he mumbled, getting to his feet. He didn't look at Kiku when he left, still feeling that shame stinging him. He was on the stairs when he heard the doorbell, raising a brow. "Who the bloody Hell is that?" he muttered, knowing that Alfred wasn't that quick at the best of times.

Opening the door, he gave a grimace at the sight of the frog. Resisting the very tempting desire to slam the door in France's face, he instead opened it a bit wider and flashed a dirty look. "Get inside. It's horrid out there..."

Gilbert shifted slightly as Roderich fell silent, feeling suddenly put on the spot. He probably didn't make any sense. He was most likely spouting out nonsense. He suddenly felt very self-conscious. He leaned against the Austrian, ducking his head as a light blush tinted his pale cheeks.

However, at Roderich's next question, he raised his head and blinked. He met the man face on, scanning his eyes for any explanation and finding none.

Ducking his head again, his faint blush darkened. "W-would I take comfort from some'un I hate? Sh-show weakness? Does tha' really seem like me?" he mumbled, giving a slightly shiver.

Ivan gave a small smile. "Okay, Yao. I'll take you up on that later," he murmured, deciphering the broken Russian without difficulty.

Like Yao, he was somewhat wondering about the lack of response from Greece. He had been so in his face as of late. To have him back down into the sidelines was, while nice, a bit concerning. It made him thinking that the Greek was plotting something. He knew he was paranoid, but it seemed so likely.

Blinking, he glanced back over at Yao and shook his head. "Nyet. Storm bad. Said take longer," he murmured softly, not wanting his broken English heard by the Greek.

'You make a fair point, Gilbert.' The Austrian replied with a little warmth in his tone, feeling... Well, rather good about that answer! Having spent years believing that the albino had picked on him simply because he didn't like him, it felt just so much better to know that it wasn't the case. The real reason -as far as the Prussian had told him- was that Gilbert didn't want to appear weak; and judging by the repeated results, the albino had proven just that. As childish as it was, knowing that Gilbert didn't hate him gave the aristocrat a warm, giddy feeling in his stomach.

'If it makes you feel any better, I like you too, you know.' He murmured, feeling the German's tremble. It wasn't too hard; after all, they were rather close.

----------

'M'kay...' Yao mumbled, opening his eyes to look up at Ivan with a rather violent shudder running through him. He'd not fallen sick in a long, long time... And he was sure that the immense amount of chocolate that he had consumed earlier was doing nothing to help him. In fact, it was probably making it worse. It made him feel dehydrated and his tongue felt thick... Which was probably why he was having such difficulty in speech.

'Could... Coulddah ask... Drink...? Please...?' He mumbled again in Russian, closing his eyes to block out the light. He didn't really want to tell his friend of his binge-eating episode just twenty or so minutes ago... He hoped that Ivan would just put his thirstiness down to the sickness.

Gilbert flashed a dirty look at the Austrian, although it lacked conviction behind it. "I never said I liked you, Specs," he argued, although it was obvious that it was more for show, than actually being honest. Especially when he shifted again, managing to somehow get himself so he was gently leaning his side against the Austrian's, his head on the man's shoulder.

Comfortable and rather warm from Roderich's own body heat, he felt blissfully drowsy. While he knew he'd refuse to sleep now, he was content to simply relax in the sleepy haze he found himself in.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ivan carefully shifted the Asian again, so that he wasn't facing the lights anymore. It meant that Yao was facing his chest more than anything, but if it helped...
"A drink?" he repeated in Russian, brows furrowing slightly as he pondered over how much more English currency he had. Surely, it was enough for a simple drink. He never took much with him, so he couldn't be positive.
Walking to the vending machine, he put the amount for drinks in and was relieved to note he had enough with some spare coinage, as well. "Pick what you want, Yao," he murmured.
PostPosted: Fri Nov 26, 2010 7:35 am
'Haha... I'll remember that for the next time you grow sick, Gilby-dearest.' The Austrian retorted playfully, glad to see some evidence that he was still the albino that he remembered with a little fondness in his heart. 'You can forget it if you think I'm going to be kind-hearted and take you in again, that's for sure.' Of course, he was only teasing the ex-nation... He really didn't want for him to get sick again, but if it did happen, he'd offer help if necessary... Then again, the rain wasn't going to keep Ludwig in London for very long, so sooner or later, the aristocrat was going to lose his companion.
Deciding not to think on their time together having a time limit, Roderich settled against the German, finding himself catching the drowsiness... As if it were contagious. Such fatigue made him want to crawl into bed... Then again, that bed was Gilbert's now and it seemed that the Prussian didn't want him to move anyway.
'Wanna make a move for somewhere more comfortable?' Deciding to throw that idea out there in a quiet murmur, the Austrian found himself feeling quite lethargic. Did he even want to summon the effort to get up?
--------
Something sugary wasn't the best idea. Perhaps a fruit drink would suffice... But Yao being Yao, and being sick, he groaned softly, lifting one arm to lazily push a random button without even looking at the machine. He was content to nuzzle into the dark coolness that Ivan's body offered him, and definitely felt no need to retreat from the haven. Sure, it was lazy and perhaps a little rude of him, but the Asian couldn't help it.
'Th'kyuu...' It was the best attempt that Yao could make at being grateful when in this state. One thing that he couldn't stand was a lack of manners and preferred to be gracious, even if it took much more effort than usual. Flinching at the sound of the can or bottle (he couldn't exactly see) being dropped with a clang, he squeaked and buried himself into his friend. It had hurt his head... His senses felt overly sensitive to the point of pain, but his reactions and thought patterns were numbed and unable to cope with the heightened amount of information that now bothered him.
Gilbert blushed lightly, keeping his head down and snuggling a bit more comfortably into the Austrian's side. He had the sneaking suspicion that there was a very good chance that he would never live this down, but he didn't care. He was too content and drowsy to particularly worry about something that may or may not happen. He supposed he would just have to deal with it when it came.
He gave a soft chuckle when Roderich claimed he wouldn't take care of him if he got ill again. "Mm, sure," he murmured, a sarcastic hint in his voice. "You'll always want to take care of my awesomeness, Specs."
He gave a soft groan when Roderich suggested finding someplace more comfortable. "That means gettin' up," he whined softly. He was finally feeling warm and rather human, again. He didn't want to get up and lose that. Not even a chance.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ivan blinked when Yao blindly pushed a button, hoping that it was something he'd want. Ivan wasn't sure what it was, since he near-often refused to read English words if he could help it. All he knew was that it had some fruit on the label.

Shifting the Asian again, he stooped and grabbed the drink from the vending machine. "Not a problem, Yao. Here," he said smoothly in Russian, standing straight and handing it to the ill nation he was carrying.

((Sorry that I didn't post yesterday, Dark. Was sick.~ And still am sick. Bloody China.))

'Tch.. What am I, your nurse?' Roderich retorted with a wry smile, unable to stop a chuckle leaving him. 'Oh, Mr Awesome... May I give you a thorough check-up?' He purred, drawing a little circle on Gilbert's chest with one fingertip. 'Just in case I find something... Intriguing?' he was unable to keep this little act for long, and began to laugh. 'Ahaha! Oh dear...! You and your awesomeness... It's so charmingly you.'

Reaching to ruffle Gilbert's hair, the Austrian couldn't help but whine 'But it's more comfortable there... We'll get backache if we sit here for too long.' in response to his friend's (if they were friends, that is) complaint. 'Unless you really, really, really don't wanna move...'

Truth be told, Roderich didn't exactly want to move, either. It was warm and comfortable, but... The idea of the bed was very, very tempting too. It was probably even more comfortable than this sofa, anyway.

----------

'Strong.' Yao commented in a softened murmur in regards to Ivan's ease in moving him around. It was odd, being lifted and shifted around as if he were just a slightly inconvenient object that could be juggled. Then again, he supposed that it wasn't very comfortable to hold him. He was wet, hot, and shivery, so it was probably like attempting to hold a live fish... Though he did not fight as much as one would. In fact, he supposed he was like a dying fish... Who was on fire.

Damn. His head was making the weirdest of metaphors. Taking the bottle with a trembling hand, he struggled with unscrewing the lid -where was his strength when he really needed it?- before downing a good half of the bottle in a desperate attempt to quench his thirst. It was sweet, sticky, and tasted of orange... Though he had a sneaky suspicion that it was fizzy. He couldn't exactly tell -he drank it too quickly to even care- but it was doing nothing for the uncomfortable feeling in his mouth. In fact, it was making it worse. However, he didn't want to complain... It was his own fault that he'd hit the wrong button and it was nice of Ivan to pay.

'Mn... I'll pay y'back, 'ru...' He mumbled in English, screwing the cap back on the bottle. He didn't want any more... Perhaps he'd drink some later but right now he felt sick.

{It's all right. The same thing happened with me when I first made Prussia ill. He got back at me...for nearly two months... -_-}

A light blush tinged Gilbert's cheeks when the Austrian teased him. He fought down the redness on his cheeks, biting his tongue to distract him. Once he was fairly certain that the blush was gone, he put on a bored expression and shrugged slightly. "My nurse? Maybe..." he murmured. "But I can't say you'd look good in the dress." A small smirk crossed his lips, and he glanced over at Roderich as if daring the man to argue it.

He shivered slightly, pressing back into the Austrian's side lightly. He closed his eyes and ignored his attempts to convince him to move to the bed. "I'm not movin'," he mumbled, stubbornly crossing his arms over his chest. He didn't care if he sounded like a troublesome child; he was warm, he was comfortable, he was not moving.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Strong? The Russian pondered over that, wondering if he really was as strong as people claimed he was. Well, he knew that he used to be. But...now? He had lost much of his strength now. But...he supposed there had to be some reason for his ease in carrying around Yao. And Natalia, now that he thought about it. It was just...they were both so light. It probably wasn't that he was stronger than most. "No. Not particularly strong. You are just light," he commented, giving a small smile. He hoped that Yao wouldn't take his comment as being rude. He...he really didn't think it over, actually.
When Yao offered to pay him back, there was a strong part of him that wanted to refuse. He supposed it was his pride. It was just a drink. It was shaming to admit that he was having trouble affording even such small items as drinks. But...it was the truth. It was the only thing that kept him from refusing. He was in serious economic trouble at the moment. It made him erase emotion from his face once again, and force an "okay, spasiba" out of his lips.
(Sorry i haven't posted, i just...fail at life xD excpecially with nobody to nag me cough )
Francis was rather startled at the brits reaction, but gladdly stepped in while using one hand to run fingers through his wet curls.
"Bonjour," He grinned using a formal tone. "Happy to see me?" His voice continued, switchign to a more casual tone as he looked the other up and down leasurly.
"Mon Dieu, You look horrible, did you by any chance get hit by a bus on your way home?"The Frenchman laughed heartily, taking off his shoes and stepping inside, he had been there enough times (though sometimes Arthur was not aware he was there...) to feel rather comfy here, protected from the rain.
"As I am quite sure you know, the meeting has been canceled and I am stuck in this dreary hell hole you call home, So I figured I would drop by and bring some sun into Angleterres evening, non?" France smirked leaning on the nearest wall. "Is Japan still here?"
Romano swept one hand over Antonios hand and shot him a quick comforting glance before turning toward Belgium again.
"Well, We better get going then," he grinned. "Everybody is starting to leave, then it will be murder to catch a taxi, Si?" he continued while using his hands to motion to the other nations and standing up, holding a hand out for Bella.
"Shall we?" He asked, raising one eyebrow questionably, waiting for Spain before starting to the door.
Alfred shook slightly as he reached England's door. He stuffed the bag full of different meds into the inside of his jacket and knoced briskly on England's door.
'Oh my...Answer the door please! I wanna make sure that Kiku's alright! The hero even got him some medication to help him feel better!' Alfred thought as he knocked on the door again. He shook him self as the thunder cracked.
'Hurry up, Artie, I'm cold.' Alfred thought with a pitiful look on his face.
He gave one last loud knock before letting his hand drop. Now he'd wait.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 30, 2010 3:44 am
Now, this was dangerous territory. He had two options; he could give in and say that no, he'd not look good in the dress and let Gilbert win, or he could argue that he would look fantastic... And still, Gilbert would win, simply because it'd be the reaction that he'd wanted to provoke from him. Roderich supposed this was just another example of the man's skill at strategy, and for the unknown time that day, the Austrian felt pressured. 'Damnit...'
Then again, there was always another option.
'Why, Gilbert...? I think you're not telling me something. That's the second time you've mentioned the topic of me in women's clothes today... is that a challenge, dare I ask? Or perhaps you'd rather like it if I did?' He questioned with a wry smile, deciding to meet the albino head-on in another one of their petty clashes. Then again, he'd not have it any other way.
'I suppose I could humour you in that aspect... If it's what you really want, then who am I to deny you your urges?'
It was indeed fun To get childish revenge.
----------
'M'kay, Ivan...' Of course Yao wouldn't take offense. It was nicer to be called light than to be called heavy, at the very least... And it wouldn't change his opinion. He just didn't want to argue with his friend right now. He certainly wouldn't win any such debate in his condition. Snuggling into the Russian, Yao closed his eyes with a soft tremble. 'Taxi... Izzere? Soon, 'ru?' He murmured, his tone muffled by the fact that he had hidden his face in his friend's chest yet again. It was cool and dark, and ever so soothing for his fever.
Hearing the forced reply from Ivan, Yao shuddered again. He knew that his friend wasn't happy at all with having to be paid back... He could sympathise. It wasn't easy for him to go from being such a strong nation to... To a state like this. His financial climate was terrible, he'd heard, and now he felt guilty for forcing Ivan to part with what little cash he had. Though he really did appreciate it... And he knew that if he offered to pay for everything from now on, it would only make Ivan feel worse. It was literally a choice between pride and suffering.
'Is... Gettin' late, 'ru... Sure taxi... Come?'
Arthur resisted the urge to give a shudder as the Frenchman entered his home. He slammed the door shut behind him and crossed his arms, glaring coldly at Francis. "Do not speak your frog language underneath my roof, b*****d," he muttered darkly. "As if I'd ever be happy to see you..."
Sighing, the Brit ran a hand through his messy hair, resisting the urge to become infuriated over the Frenchman's insult. He bit his lip and took a deep breath, just not wanting to deal with Francis when he was feeling as lousy as he was. He just...he didn't think he showed it on his outward appearance, so it concerned him a bit. So, instead, he said nothing at all.
Turning sharply, he continued to what he had been doing earlier. Carefully gathering Kiku's clothes, he paused. Giving a soft sigh, he grabbed a small towel, as well. He reentered the foyer, tossing the towel at the Frenchman's. "I don't have any clothes that you could wear, so you might as well dry your hair," he muttered, walking passed him and back upstairs.
Spotting the Japanese, he handed him his clothes and was about to say something when a loud knock filled the air. All this company was driving his near-nonexistent patience and, with a sigh, he went back to the foyer yet again.
He opened the door and gave the American a carefully neutral gaze. "You're here to see Kiku, right?" Why else would he be here? To see him? Hardly. Francis was only there to bother him, not see him. Nobody wanted to just see him, there was always another reason.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Gilbert blinked, not looking up so the Austrian would be able to see the faint dusting of pink that graced his cheeks. He gave another shiver, finding that the side not pressed against Roderich was feeling rather cold now. He pondered over what he could say, racking his brain for ideas. It was a slower process than usual, especially for these quick quips back and forth, but it wasn't what one would really call a long pause.

Giving a sly smirk, the albino thought of just what he could say. He gave a slight shrug and a flippant expression, looking as if he was near-relenting. "Well, you always behave so womanly. I'm curious whether you can look womanly, too," he commented, looking as if all he was doing was throwing a bored comment out there.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ivan tried not to shift the Asian anymore, wondering if Yao was comfortable now. It was a bit odd to have him snuggled into his chest, but the Asian was remarkably warm. Also, since Ivan was a frigid person both in personality and actual body temperature, his chillness probably had a beneficial plus in helping with Yao's fever.
Ivan was starting to get confused by the mixture of English and Russian. He didn't know when Yao wanted to speak English or when he wished to speak Russian. "The driver said he'd come in here to alert me that the taxi was here. So far, I have not seen him," he murmured softly, knowing that he'd see the Indian man if he came near. He knew his race since his accent was thick enough to make Ivan's already minimal grasp of the English language so much more difficult.
He also wondered when Greece would interject. So far, Ivan had accidently neglected to tell him which hotel they were headed to. While he knew it was a childish pettiness, he still found himself doing it.
Alfred let a small grin slide over his face as Arthur opened the door.
"Hey Iggy!" Alfred said with a grin as he slipped past the Englishmen and into the house.
"It's too wet. I hope it gets better soon. Anyways, where's Kiku? I hope--Arthur you look like you need a nap or something. Back to... I hope Kiku is felling better!." Alfred said in a bit of a rush as he shook his head, sending a few water droplets flying. He quickly took off his shoes and said a friendly 'Hello' to France.
"So, yeah! I'm here to see Kiku, do you know where he is?" Alfred repeated calmly as he hoped what was discreetly, checked to make sure his bag from the corner store was alright.
"Oh!" Alfred added as a forgotten note, "I'll take care of the phone bill me and Kiku caused, 'Kay?"
(Due to the 'severe' weather conditions here up at my uni -a little bit of snow frightens England, it seems- there'll be random closures during the day so I may not be able to post as often until the scare is over.)
That was insulting. Roderich's face flushed red, but he bit back the snappy retort that was dying to escape him. It was true, he admitted... In comparison to Gilbert, the Austrian was rather feminine, in the stereotypical way. He sewed, he baked cakes and he loved art... Though to be called out on his less-than-masculine behaviour was... Well. Difficult to accept.
'Fine. Fine. I'll take up your challenge.' He muttered darkly, brooding on what it meant to give into Gilbert's childish remarks. He'd somehow have to either get hold of an outfit such as that -and risk the embarrassment of having to go and purchase such a thing in his own size- or make it. Both of which he didn't want to do. Then again, he couldn't be cowardly and back out of the situation, or the albino would win, too.
There was no way he could beat Gilbert at this. He was stuck.
'Don't blame me if the sight scars you forever.' It was difficult to gauge how the ex-nation would react to seeing him in such an outfit... But if it frightened him or disturbed him, then it was a petty victory for the aristocrat... 'But if you take photos, I'll kill you.'
----------
'Mm'kay... I-I'll stop ask'n now, aru.' Accepting his friend's answer as the truth, Yao fell quiet for a few moments. He wanted to rest, sleep, but his wet clothes were making it difficult despite the fact that he was so drowsy. The prevention of sleep caused the Asian to give a soft whine of frustration in his throat, though other than that, he did not complain. After all, it would be fruitless to complain about something that could not be fixed until much later. it would only cause unnecessary stress and agitation, which Yao wanted to avoid; after all, he was being enough of a burden as it was. So, he kept his issues to himself.
Pawing gently at Ivan's chest, the Asian shivered. 'Mmngh... 'S Greece comin' with us...?' He mumbled, keeping himself firmly settled in his little refuge. 'Not stayin' 'ere...?' His words switched again from Russian to English. He couldn't keep a track of what he was saying, nor remember that he'd agreed to Heracles going with them to the hotel. In fact, he could barely remember what he'd said a few minutes ago... The fatigue and discomfort were getting to him.
'Taxi 'ere yet, 'ru...?'
PostPosted: Thu Dec 02, 2010 7:06 am
When Alfred was standing in the foyer, Arthur slammed the door again. It wasn't quite as rough as when Francis came, but still showed his slight irritation. He flinched slightly when some of the rain clinging to the American was splashed into his face as he shook like a dog. The Brit gave a slightly irritated look, but it changed slightly as he tried to mask the growing concern about his appearance. Kiku had thought he was ill, Francis commented that he looked horrible, and now Alfred thought he looked as if he was in need of a nap? Perhaps he was showing his illness more than he had previously been aware.
Pushing those thoughts aside, the Brit crossed his arms. "Kiku will come about when he wishes to," he retorted, deciding to give the Asian time to change and make himself otherwise presentable. "Remove the jacket while I find something to cover the sofa with so you two can sit down without soaking it."
Resisting a soft sigh, he walked passed them and back into the laundry room. Spotting a large towel, he carefully selected it and moved to the seating room. He laid it over the sofa, giving a slight nod of satisfaction when it covered the majority of the fabric. "There," he murmured, glancing over at the two nations expectantly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The bored expression on the albino's face morphed into a look of surprise, honestly having not believed that Roderich would react that way. He was expecting the blush, yes, and perhaps even a bit of brooding. He thought there would be an insulted anger. He didn't expect him to make it a challenge!

"W-what?"

Shaking his head, he couldn't keep his laughter in. He laughed softly, finding the situation hilarious. "I... I didn't mean it as a ch-challenge," he managed through his laughter. "It...it was a j-joke, Specs! I was t-teasin' you!"

"So, where are we going, anyway?" Having finished tending to Corporal Cat, Heracles once again joined the other two nations. Placing a hand over the Asian's forehead, the Greek tutted at how hot Yao was.

"We need to cool him down.."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Taking the Italian's offered hand, the Belgian continued to smile warmly. "You're right, we should hurry..I don't want to get caught in the rain." Allowing herself to be led to the door, Bella let out a happy chuckle..this was all so nostalgic.
