The addition of new figures to the field was unremarkable. Shehk turned her attention away from Mimsy to look at the dark figures that now littered the battlefield, giving them each a few moments before she tilted her head to look back towards the hunter. "You might want to leave." she said plainly. "Before they get you. Or perhaps I will decide to..." she chuckled, a low throaty noise which was particularly uncomfortable with the shredded state of her jaw, "though I can't imagine that would be particularly worthwhile."

An amusing moment, but the horsemen soon drew her attention back, and the black wolf turned her head to look towards them instead. Even as the humans began to flee, she stood still, taking in the scene as if she wasn't a part of it. Even when she was welcomed into it - an initiate who had given a part of herself to them to make it possible - she stayed put. The way the cookie had crumbled made no difference.

But when the priestess moved, the pricolici slowly picked herself up, walking towards the red portal to step after her without a word, a hound on the heels of her master. She had nowhere she wanted to go - so she would simply follow what made the most sense.


All roads lead to the same end.

Jaw clenched and strength found, Lex threw the German Shepherd sized beast off him with a snarl before time seemed to slow. Black branches made more...people? No, Horsemen, and they all began to charge. The Sun lead threw himself into the fray, buying them all time.

Dammit. Dammit all to hell.

He grabbed the pendant in his pocket and whispered the words as he ran from the oncoming black wave.

At once, Gene felt a pull in her core and a clouding of her head.

No. No no no no. She'd helped with this, belonged to this and felt like a part of this.

The warmth of acceptance felt wrong, disgustingly and twistedly wrong. SHe turned her head, shaking it violently. She didn't belong to this.

She ran through the orange portal, wanting to weep openly.

Jerry had been woken when the shout for a retreat came. He was still in pain, barely coherent as he was lead out of the way but in the distance, he could see everyone rushing- and Allan-taichou vanishing in the growing swarm of horsemen...

"Ah..." The world was spinning.

He had to help. He grasped for his pendant that sparked with green a bit but Roar groaned in the back of his head, grumbling voice gentle, We gotta' book it.

Jerry didn't care. He remembered Julie, crawling with insects- Killzone crumbling under the weight of his own shattering battier.

He had to help. He was a Sun.

His leg caved under him, his vision swimming again, consciousness ebbing, "Ah..."

He remembered H diving into the maw of a massive squid, only to return later with that same snarky expression. Caelius, broken and beaten down by the insanity creature, weapon snatched, broken, stolen... Only to return.

He remembered a softly smiling face, eyes betraying the sadness and severity of the situation as the youthful red-head assured him to have faith when the horseman had taken his friends and Jerry had felt at his wit's end.

Have faith.

Jerry closed his eyes, trembling, bloodied fingers wrapping around the pendant in his coat pocket.

"Awoowoowoo..." He whispered, and vanished.

"Until the day I die," Lizzy replied, holding Shun's gaze; she wasn't going to move towards the portal until he does.

The right portal.

Ami couldn't move. It all happened so quickly. Thousands of them. Horsemen, everywhere- her worst fears realized into thousands of bodies.

She panicked. Immediately she grabbed Ceres, who was holding Kat, and screamed Deus Ex Machina at her pendant.

Ying stood triumphantly above the crowd, eyes brimming with tears as she looked around at the sea of horsemen. All of their people returned. All of them. No, now she was truly crying.

She immediately squeezed her brother's arm, and looked at him with a smile so bright, so exuberant, so genuine that it could've cured insanity. She didn't need words to explain her happiness. It exuded from her very body, like an aura. They'd survived.

No.

They'd won.

Shun was still glowering at Lizzy right now.

"And what's the difference if I kill hunters on my own or with them?" he asked. The spider demon was very much against the horsemen. There was no denying that.

"You wish for revenge on the hunters, not mass genocide on the humans," She argued, "You are better than that... Also there is something off about Xiu." She remembered seeing what the ghoul did earlier... It was almost as if she was possessed when she attacked the hunter.

"Come home."
