"Congratulations, its twins." Jeff thrust the girls in Holly's arms. Kyle just made it into the kitchen tried not to loose his cookies at the sight of Yakov.
Jeff was already at the sink filling a large bowl with water. He came back with a cloth in his hand and started cleaning the wounds. "Yakov, what happened?"

"Take one." Holly handed one of the girls to Kyle and quickly made her way to the living room.

Yakov started to laugh and the stopped abruptly as pain shot up his side. "I forgot the fun cardinal rule about not being black and alone on the streets at night."

Kyle followed Holly out to the living room where he held the baby like it was a something gross. "Um..."

Jeff felt Yakovs sides. "You have two broken ribs on your left side, and one on your right." His voice was soft but gritted through his teeth.

Holly rolled her eyes. "Oh honestly, its just a child."

Kyle held the baby a little closer as she yawned and blurbled at him. She reached up and grabbed Kyles ear and yanked. "OW!"

Jeff didn't respond but just went back to cleaning up the blood off of Yakov.

Kyle groaned as the baby reached for his hair. "They are demon children!"
"No, sorry to disappoint you honey, they just like you." Kat sad from the basement doorway. The babies cooed and wiggled their arms at their mother.

Jeff wanted to hug Yakov and keep him safe, but seeing his broken ribs, it was probably a bad idea. "I told you I would have done it." His voice was now quivering.

Kat laughed with Holly and knelt down next to the two. She smiled and made baby noises back at the girls before turning to Holly, "So I smelt blood from downstairs, what is going on up here?"

"Stop squirming! I can't go back in time and keep this from happening, so at least let me fix you up the best I can!" Jeff hadn't meant to yell, but the world was certainly taking a turn for the worse and if something didn't go right soon he was going to crack. He couldn't stop the tears that escaped his eyes.

Yakov blinked at Jeff then looked down at his hands and sat still for Jeff.

Jeff finished cleaning him off quickly. The bowl of water was now red as he set it on the table. Jeff slumped in the chair next to Yakov. "I'm sorry..." he mumbled at the ground.

Kat frowned, "This doesn't bode well." Kat could hear Yakov and Jeff and decided to give them another minute or so before she went into the kitchen.
Kyle, who was now wrestling for his hair with one of the girls, looked up at Kat, "Aren't you worried about all the blood?"
Kat smiled,"I've already eaten tonight, twice actually, since Curtis showed up."

Yakov looked up at Jeff, about ready to cry. "I could have stopped it. There were only three of them. I could've stopped them and not broken a sweat. But...then...they...they might have know...so...so I let them."

Jeff carefully put his arms gently around Yakov. "You did fine Yakov. It...it was probably for the best...at least they thought you were straight." He said with a sad excuse of a smile on his face.

Kat grinned, a little too much, showing fang. "Yes, but it can be controlled. If I would have known that though, these two wouldn't be here." She gestured to Kimberly who now had her hand wrapped securely around Kyles nose.

Jeff half sobbed half laughed. "Same here."

"Yeah I'm not looking forward to the whole, 'Oh by the way girls, the first time you die or taste another's blood your DNA is going tot warp and you are going to become blood thirsty leeches of the night just like your mama.' Goodness." Kat shook her head and finally relieved Kyle of Kim. She held her close and Kim fell asleep almost immediately.
