Dreams:
In the mist of night, the world seems to have been swallowed up by ones we see only in our dreams.
This world is the one that bears all our fantasies, nightmares, Embarrassments, Fears, and Escapes.
A group of watchful guardians keeps an eye on us as we dream, careful not to let the dreams take us into an absolute death. Some might call them angels.
Can anyone help me come up with names for the guardians, the terrors (the ones who threaten everyone and try to drag them into the darkness) and the types of dreams?
So far for the dream types, I have:
Nightmares
Embarrassing Dreams
Fantasies (Things people dream about that they like a lot or dream of having or doing)
Hilarious
Adventure

Wow! We have quite a hefty list of theme ideas. I think its about time we started to narrow down? When I look at some of the suggestions, I try to envision a really good plot.

Perhaps there are a few select characters who are dreamers and these are the ones the night terrors are after...?
And the nightmare guardians have a hard time getting along with the other dream guardians...?

I'd just like to say how glad I am at what a quick start we're getting on the theme and everything, Angel. It should really make things easier this year!!!

Really? surprised It's been forever since I've seen Buffy. The full idea is the dream idea combined with a story idea I've had in mind for a while about imaginary friends being guardian angels.

Kala Kirya I'd just like to say how glad I am at what a quick start we're getting on the theme and everything, Angel. It should really make things easier this year!!!   Thanks dear! I'm trying to keep momentum up as much as I can. You guys are all so creative though, having a killer theme isn't going to be hard at all.

Oh!! I had a great story idea for the Seven Sins thing.
What if we have a character(s) that are banished to Hell. We could use the model from Dante's Inferno for the levels of hell.

Currently there 9 levels of Hell + Purgatory, so that's ten. But Purgatory and Limbo are like the entrances to Hell. Then you start with the levels, so that goes down to 8 levels of Hell. And there's Seven Deadly Sins.
So what we could do, is to escape Hell the character(s) must make it through each level of Hell and defeat each Sin that is represented by a demon or personage. Not necessarily in battle, but we could do battle, wit, morals,etc.
Then the last level of Hell, is where our character(s) must face the mirror image of themselves, the worst of themselves, defeat them, and then escape from Hell.

ah, i posted this in the official theme suggestions before posting in here to see what you guys think! sorry! i just wanted to type it fast before i forgot the idea and i guess i put it in the official one sweatdrop
well i quoted it so:
Red7227 COLOR MY MONOCHROME WORLD!picture a dreary future. a corrupted world where everything is black and white. a future drained of color. the monochrome future.
the people who live in this future live under the command of father. they do not know what emotion or feelings are. they do not know what color is. all they know is father and his rules. the people wake up each morning to work whatever job the committee had assigned them when the graduated from thirdschool. but in this dull, sadistic world, one person dares to be defiant
it all starts out when one person (the host) was going home from work. she had managed to find a few minutes extra for herself, so she ended up wandering around, when shee saw something weird. it was no bigger than her hand, with two big, flat arms that had no hands, a big pointy nose and its mouth was on the pointy nose. what was this thing? was it some new defense weapon father had ordered? it didnt look like it. she reached out to grab it, when it started to go up in the air, like the peacekeeper planes. but this thing flapped its big fat arms, and it didnt look like it had an engine. she followed it, with this strange sensation flowing through her (curiosity). she followed it up until it landed on another strange thing. it had stiff, skinny arms, a fat,stiff body, and pointy round hair coming out of the arms, but no face. but that wasn't what awed her, for under the big strange thing was a box, and inside the box were these things that resembled writing sticks. but these writing sticks were weird. they were bright, and they each looked different. she looked at what was written under the writing sticks. it said "color". what were these "color"?. she picked one up, and used it like any other writing stick and scribbled on the box. the box then got the brightness of the "color". this concept of "color" both amazed and confused her, and she looked at what was written on each "color". there was one that was named "red" and one that was named "green". there were about 6 of the "color". she had to go show her friend (co-host) these "color".
somewhere, fathers cameras caught the discovery of "color". on video. "this is bad. i must consult the grandfathers about this" he said. he turned on a big monter, where 5 elders where joined around a table. "grandfathers" he stated "it looks like somebody has found the color. we cannot allow this person to tell anybody about the color, or they will become defiant. we must eliminate the color!" father said. the grandfathers only uttered four words: "call in the siblings..." and with that, the screen turned off.
from there the plot goes on...
we will have rooms made after the colors. there will be six rooms- red, yellow, blue, purple, black, and green. each room will have a different mood (example: blue=calm) and will be hosted by people of the color of the room. guests can help color in the monochrome world and join the resistance against father. every now and then we can have somebody roleplay as one of the siblings (big brother, big sister, little brother, little sister) and invade one of the rooms, having the members of the resistance fight them until the sibling leaves. the sibling will droop "loot" which could eigther be gold or a prize. each room will have different types of "loot" that can only be found in that room. to win the loot, guests will use the random number tool and try to get a number that the host of the room chooses. loot can also be won in contests like art and poetry.
i havent figured the rest out yet, im still working on the plot and such sweatdrop

o.o You know? I hadn't thought about this till I saw a furry avi, but what about a wilderness theme.
There could be parties in places like the Jungle, Desert, Forest, Rainforest, Mountain, and Ocean with the theme of taking care of the Earth or Gaia. The hosts could be animals who were given the ability to talk to people for the duration of the ball.

There could be parties in places like the Jungle, Desert, Forest, Rainforest, Mountain, and Ocean with the theme of taking care of the Earth or Gaia. The hosts could be animals who were given the ability to talk to people for the duration of the ball.
