Kaleb nodded in a relieved manner, and sat up on the couch so he would be easier to pick up. They could go to bed, and he would stop feeling so tired and lost, and maybe tomorrow his ankle would even be healed enough to walk on.

He picked Kaleb up and lugged him to bed before dropping him down on the sheets. He went to go find them somewhere to wear to sleep hoping that once in bed Kaleb would feel better.

Kaleb snuggled back against the pillows as he waited for Riley to throw something at him. He found himself missing his own pyjamas, and once he realized it he was hit with a solid longing to sleep at home, in his own bed with his own pillows and blankets. The little mage's fidgeting started up again, and he sniffled a tiny bit before he could stop himself.

He looked up when he heard Kaleb sniffling. "Wha's wrong?" He didn't want his partner to feel bad or something.

Kaleb bit down on one thumbnail, hesitating before speaking up. "I-I th-think I miss home," he said miserably. He didn't want Riley to feel bad or think he didn't like spending time here, but he didn't want to lie or try and say there was nothing wrong.

He leaned back against his dresser and looked at Kaleb. "Ya can portal yerself home right? If ya didn't wanna stay here ya just had ta say so." He should have thought about that earlier. Kaleb couldn't want to spend all that time here rather than at home.

The way Riley phrased his words made Kaleb look even more miserable. "I-I do want to stay, I-I j-just want t-to go home too. I-I c-can come back tomorrow, i-if you want, o-or I could just stay here..."

He sighed slightly. "If ya wanna go home them go home. I'm not gonna like kidnap ya and make ya stay here." He didn't want Kaleb feeling like he was stuck at his place. "Already told ya that yer more than welcome to come over when ya want"

Kaleb fidgeted a little longer before making up his mind. "I-I th-think I should go home," he said miserably, sliding off the bed and opening a portal that would take him home. "Th-thanks so m-much for letting me stay, a-and taking care of me," he said, and then limped through to spend the night at home.

"Yea .. no prob." He went back to digging though his drawers until he found something to wear. Changing into a pair of pj pants he went about gathering up all his dirty cloths to shove in the washer. He stayed up an extra half hour until he tossed them in the dryer. Bed wasn't as comfortable without Kaleb there. He'd gotten used to having someone warm to curl around.

Kaleb felt well and truly depressed as he hobbled around his tiny apartment, brushed his teeth, changed into his pyjamas, and finally crawled into bed for the night. He really had missed his own place, and he was soothed by the familiarity and comfort of his own bed even if he wasn't entirely happy with his decision to spend the night alone.
After an hour of miserable tossing and turning in the dark while trying to get to sleep, Kaleb slipped out of bed and limped through a portal back to Riley's apartment.

He'd gone to sleep curled around his extra pillow. It defiantly wasn't as good as Kaleb and he kept waking up ever few minuets or so. By the time Kaleb came back to his place he was stretched out on his stomach with his arms flung out on either side of him.

Kaleb stood and fidgeted in the dark for a few minutes, before taking a limped step closer to Riley's bed and speaking up. "Riley... I-I can't sleep." He said miserably, not knowing what else to say or do.

He grumbled for a moment as he shifted so he could see who in the world was talking to him. "Wha .. Kaleb?"

"I-I c-can't sleep," Kaleb repeated, sniffling a bit. It wasn't fair, he was awfully homesick, but he couldn't go home without suffering another kind of homesickness since he had gotten so used to his partner being there to sleep with him.
