I clung onto Asher tightly as he leap from building to building. I sighed, hoping he was right about Al. I wouldn't know what to do if her death was on my hands. I looked over my shoulder to see if she had gotten up. Nothing. The scent of her blood still lingered in the air. I buried my face into his shoulders and tried to stop worrying about her for at least a few minutes.
The next time i raised my head the outline of the fort could be seen in the distance. "How much longer?" I asked feeling my knees stiffen from remaining in the same position for awhile.

"A while. We still have to wait until it is at least twelve, otherwise the tougher guards won't be off duty yet. We don't want to have to deal with them, trust me." Once on the ground, I set her down and placed her on the sidewalk beside me. "Are you thirsty?" I said placing my hand on her cold forehead. Alexia's blood scent still stung the back of my throat, I imagined it probably had the same effect on Dusk. I knelt down next to her and picked up a shard of an old beer bottle that had been laying behind us. I scraped it across the skin above my elbow and watched the tiny droplets of blood venture down my arm. I held the arm up to her face, offering her the drink.

"I wouldn't do that if I was you," but my words were too late. He was already slicing his skin with glass that could have been who knows where. gradually, I closed my eyes and took in the sweet scent of the crimson liquid as it was placed close to my lips. I softly licked the few drops that made their way down his arm until I found the gash. My teeth involuntary sunk into his arm and I drank.

Screams echoed through the room. I couldn't tell whether or not if they belonged to me or another prisoner. All I was sure about was the constant pain in the back of my head. I clenched my fists and tried to pull free of the leather belts that constrained me from what I found to be my death bed. I needed to get out, but how?

I leaned back by head to see the overcast that hung above us as she sucked from my arm. A few police sirens were blaring a few miles away, probably another wear wolf attack. I pulled my arm away, beginning to feel slightly light-headed from the loss of blood, and pulled her head onto my chest, hoping she may fall asleep. As we sat on the cold hard sidewalk, a few cars passed, mostly a bunch of crazed teenagers that had managed to get away from the cops. One of them was holding a blood-drenched dagger in his hand, licking it slowly. The smell was distinct and familiar, much like that of the girl I knew from the safe house. What was her name? Lilly? Lilac? Oh, wait, no, Lillith, I believe. Odd. Dusk's breathing quickened slightly, as if she was sharing my thought.

"Blood bank?" the man with the chocolate eyes shook his head. "Too far, Lillith, we wouldn't make it in time. Plus, moving you at all could strengthen the flow of your bleeding, dear, we wouldn't want to do that." How wasn't he crying? Instead of tears, his face was drenched in a hidden sorrow, covered up with something that looked like a feigned faith of some sort. The kind of look that a pediatrician would give to a child that was expected to die in 20 days and there was nothing he could do, but he still wanted to look hopeful. The expression raised a flame inside of me. "Lillith, we will figure something else out, just relax, you're going to be fine," I glowered toward this Tommy person, hoping he might notice that I knew exactly what he was thinking.

Alexia tried to move, she begged her broken body to stand and jump right back out the window after them, but still it did not respond. She could smell her own blood, and felt the warm wetness of it on her back as the glass cut deeper into her flesh. She would have yelled out but she could not. Slowly her eyes opened to see a dimly lit white ceiling above her. She focused all her energy into moving her neck, and it worked just barely. She turned her head to the side, but her vision blurred and the darkness seemed to close in around her.

"Sorry," I mumbled, "I hadn't realized how thirsty I was." I reopened my eyes and caught what Asher was gazing at. I couldn't remember the last time I had smelt this much blood. It was no long that of Al's that stuck to me but another's; it was quite familiar. I pulled away from his hold and immediately stood up. "Lilith." I spoke quietly hoping the thugs across the street wouldn't hear or see me. Panic-stricken, my hands began to shake along with my knees, feeling almost as if I was about to fall. I looked to Asher to see what we should do and whether we should even do anything at all.

Before either of us could do anything, the car pulled up slowly next to us. A few of the men were pointing at Dusk and grinning. I stood up immediately, catching them off guard. "Hey, man, how 'bout we take your lady friend there for a little ride, tour the city," one said, winking.
"No thank you, gentlemen," I said, glaring at him.
"Ah, come on, dude, maybe she wants to," The man stepped up and looked in back of me where Dusk stood on the sidewalk. He was at least seven inches taller than me, with bleach blonde hair and a crooked smile.

Lillith sighed and nodded. "Tommy... I'm so confused... I saw you die... your mother paid for the funeral... how can you still be alive? And why did you never tell me?" she asked weakly, tears welling up in her eyes as she started to shiver, her body going into extreme shock.

"I know, I know, calm down, it's alright," his face was stone now, "The funeral was arranged by a one of my commanding officers. The bullet was only a tranquilizer, dear. Do you remember how there was no viewing? I was on the other side of the city fighting by the time the funeral service was over." i watched his eyes reminisce and suddenly understood. How didn't anyone think of it? Men were being drafted all the time by any means necessary. I remembered a death threat that was sent to our old neighbor from a few years ago, Billy Tonks, who had refused to go to war. The next day his funeral service was being held at the church tweo blcoks down the street. I wondered if his was arranged as well...

"But... it's been..." she stopped to cough, her body shaking with the chills from going into deep shock. She closed her eyes slowly and lifted one hand to him weakly. "It... doesn't matter... I'm just glad... to see you... again..."

{Any one want to play Doc. Surflue? Or Should I?}

{feel free to play Dr. Surflue, if you want. however, if you want me to do it I suppose I could.}

The chocolate eyed man smiled and propped Lillith's head up on his lap. "We'll figure something out," I promised. My gaze turned soon to a furry creature that seemed to have been listening from behind a dumpster about 7 feet away. "Hello?" I said, my voice cracking. "Is someone...there?"
