James snorted. "Not kidding! Just a mask to add to our already overwhelming charm, and Bingo! Instant success." Not to mention that silly Lily might actually give me a chance if she didn't know it was me....
Kailyn shook her head, slightly bored. Sighing, she rummaged in her bag and pulled out a notebook and pencil. Flipping it open, she quickly started sketching out a costume and how to create it. Black widow? Nice, but not very original. P'raps a snake? Quite Slytherin, but also quite appealing....

Gwin shoved her brocolli into her mouth, causing her to almost choke. She managed to to spit out the brocolli ("How'd this rubbish manage to get on my plate?!"), but unfortunatly, the fork was missing. She looked around for a minute, and then, with a sigh, came up from the table.
"Who's ever heard of a disappearing fork anyways?" she grumbled unnecissarilly. She heard a mild laugh from behind her. She groaned. She knew that laugh.
"Alysson."
Alysson smiled at Gwin, doing her regular routine. She had been an admirer of the Rogues, but for some reason, Gwin had always refused to let her join. Picky old Gwin. Alysson thought with a smile.
"I've heard of a disappearing fork. Watch." and without further ado, pulled the fork in question out from behind Nadia's ear.
Gwin rolled her eyes. Same old Alysson. Still obsessed with becoming a Rogue, Muggle magic illusions, and whatever else pops into that emty bulb she calls a head.
"Tada!" she neatly handed the fork back to Gwin with a broad smile. She shrugged after a moment of staring (Gwin doing like-wize) and started casually.
"I've found something great for the ball." her eyes glinted mischiveously. "I found it during Experamentations, and I think it'd make a great prank." she glanced over to Leah. "It's a bit complex, but if it worked-" Alysson shuddered with a grin.
"It'd be amazing!"

Leah raised her eyebrows. Alysson was different, that was sure. A year or two ago she had been almost a Rogue, but Gwin wouldn't agree. Knowing that the decision had to be unanimous, Leah let it go. Alysson wasn't the fourth, and that was that.
But even if she wasn't the fourth, sometimes she was a brilliant ally. For instance, what was she talking about now?
"Oh, it's you again." Leah said mildly. "Hello Alysson. So what's all this?"
[To the ball, of course. We have plotted, and things are going to speed up here, so any asking to ball action needs to happen ASAP!

Sirius had been waiting for an opportunity to find Kailyn alone, but the opportunity never came. And so, after History of Magic one day, he leapt to her side before the Rogues could begin talking, and he very confidently asked (er, demanded), "Come to the ball with me."

Kailyn looked at him incredulously, opened her mouth to speak, then closed it firmly. She knew that many girls would have killed to be on her present position. Therefore, there was only one obvious reaction for her to take. She frowned at Sirius, and quickly gave him a hard punch to the face. "Dream on, loser." She said disdainfully, as if it was a pain even to speak to him. And then she kept walking.
{HOBURN!}
James too, had been waiting for the perfect opportunity to ask Lily to the dance. It came that same night; Lily was up late studying in the common room, and almost everybody else had left. James conjured up a white Tiger Lily, straightened his collar, and walked up to her. "My beautiful Lily," He said, going down on one knee. "I have come to ask if you would grant the dearest wish of my heart." He offered the flower, a suave and slightly pleading expression on his face. "Give me the honor of escorting you, my precious flower, to the Hallow's Eve Dance." He smiled winningly, still offering the Tiger Lily.

After getting a fork pulled out of her ear, Nadia’s eye twitched. She didn’t like cheap magic tricks and wasn’t in the greatest of moods. She had the dream again that night. Heaving a small sigh, she turned back to her plate full of buttered rolls. “So Alysson, what’s this prank, you speak of?” Nadia said with out even looking up from the roll in her hand. She took a bite and looked at Alysson from the corner of her eye. “Is it worth it? To pull of this amazing yet complex trick?” The tone in Nadia’s voice was dense but covered with a tranquil tone. The dream was bugging her but she didn’t want her friends to worry so she tried to sound calm.

Sirius tutted. "Tactless," he told her easily, following her. The fact that he had narrowly avoided being socked made no difference. "The Roguish thing to do here would be to say yes to get me to shut up, and then lock yourself up in your room on the night of the ball. Or," he added, "lie to me about what your costume is, and I won't know any better."

Kailyn spun on her heel, getting up in Sirius's face and looking him in the eye. (She could do this, as she was about his height.) Kailyn put on her most intimidating, stiff-as-steel glare- This guy was actually starting to bug her, although she wasn't sure why. She'd dealt with overly persistent, good-looking... WOAH, wait just a minute! Where on earth did THAT come from?! Kailyn was more than a little perturbed at this train of thought, but she quickly came back to the matter at hand.
"And how would you know the 'Roguish' thing to do anyways? Look, you're starting to annoy me, so I'll make this clear as possible, so your tiny brain can understand." Her practiced glare never faltering, she stabbed Sirius in the shoulder with her finger to emphasize her point. "Leave me alone, or I'll smear you liberally with fire lotion and push you down an endless flight of stairs.
"To Hades with expulsion and rules! You bug me again, Sirius Black, and you will pay."

Sirius gave Kailyn his coolest, most genuinely irritating smirk to date. "What, you think I don't know that? You've done the fire-lotion bit, and it was good, I'll admit. I'll be sure to use it on someone I don't like in the near future. My best friends push me down the stairs at all hours; that makes no difference to me." With a great show of impatience, he dug out his wallet and offered it to Kailyn, still smiling. "I'll pay. Now will you go with me?"

Kailyn took a deep breath, and dug even deeper into her well of patience. "Am I not making this clear? Maybe you don't understand English." She rolled her eyes, and launched into the following tirade:
"You idiot with no regard for anyone's feelings but your own! How could you be so selfish? You Idol of idiot worshipers! Do you lack the brain capacity to understand that 'no means 'no'? That maybe you aren't going to get your way? Calling YOU stupid would be an insult to stupid people! Freaking deal with it, you dung-sucking insensitive Ereshkigal!"
This, of course, was all in Italian.

Sirius blinked, taken aback. "Well--I actually think maybe the English was a bit clearer," he answered. He wasn't sure precisely what Kailyn had bellowed at him, but he got the general gist, and it did nothing but encourage him further.

Lily jumped at tehe appearance of a white flower in front of her face, which reddened slightly. She blinked in shock for a moment, her mouth agape. Wait a second... I'd know that hand any where. It pops up every dance. No.... scratch that. It pops up somewhere almost every week! Lily narrowed her green eyes and sharply uttered one word. "Potter," she said flatly. After his query registered in her brain, she continued to stare at him stupidly, as if he hadn't asked her every week for the past few years. "No," she said in a bored tone. Lily turned back around and continued what she had been doing before.
Luke was once again found in the common room alone. He had already been asked, multiple times to the dance, turning down each one politely. Again, he was asked... laughably, by a first-year. He gave a small, mirthless chuckle and shook his head. "I'm sorry, but I may not even go," Luke replied to the crest-fallen girl in front of him. Throwing her a tight-lipped smirk, he stood up and moved to another chair.

James (with some difficulty) kept a smile plastered on his face. Hey, it wasn't as if this didn't happen all the time, right? Hm. So, to go for the sad, pity digging sort of reaction, or keep a straight face? James thought he had been quite eloquent this time. AND he offered her flowers! What on earth did this girl want?
....Aha! Logic perhaps?
James put on a humble-yet-wise expression, and smiled gently at Lily. "Ah, but you see my dear, no matter how many times you turn me down, I will be here. Only when you were married and buried would I give up! Perish the day. So you see, it is in your best interest to say yes- At least then I wouldn't bug you! Please Lily, give it a try. Just a try."

Kailyn smacked her forehead. "Dear Lord! Do you people have to deal with this all the time?! How are you not driven mad!" She whipped out her wand, its tip tickling his throat. "I regret having to do this," She said in a deadly calm voice. "But just remember it's your own fault for being so bloody stubborn. Petrificus Totalus! Rictusempra, Locomontarali!" She said, smiling slightly as Sirius was caught in the full body-bind, tickled, and sent flying down the hall. "Oops, my bad." She said mildly. "Oh well, let's go now." And with that, she walked away to catch up with the rest of the Rogues, who had been watching from a ways away.
(If you don't remember, Petrificus Totalus is a Full Body Bind, Rictusempra is a Tickling Charm, and Locomontarali is one I just made up; It pretty much sends you flying.
Okies, whoohoo for speeding it up. They can argue later at the dance if you want.)
