Pandora watched on, curious as to what would result from all of this. She moved in slightly closer so she oculd hear better, but she oculdn't see very well, seeing as she was trying ot keep low in the grass.

He had expected as much, though in the back of his mind he was hoping that he had come for another reason. He sat back again, his head held high as he looked to the other as his name was offered. "King Ling of Calm Karma." He sighed. "I am hoping that you are willing to negotiate a trade from Leanna. I'm certain that you know I will not let her go for free. I have few females in my pride, and to lose one would cost me dearly."

"If I had a female willing to take up her Queen's stead here, I would ask her to do so." Mika closed her eyes, thoughts drifting back to his Kingdom. "However, I only have one female, a teen. You would understand why I could not trade?"
Rose eyes swept over the foliage before returning to Ling. "There is only I, Kish'ya and a newcomer Red XIII. My mother is staying for a short period of time and my second sister...I have no idea of her whereabouts."

"Then...perhaps there is another deal to be had..." He did understand that the other had little to nothing to trade him, but the fact was, that Leanna held a high rank in the pride, he could not let her go for nothing. "I have no want for this to end in violence...I am still recovering from my last battle...perhaps..." He thought for a moment, his eyes closing. "Leanna is...with cubs...perhaps a trad eto be made with them..." He opened his eyes once more, the dark chocolate brown shimering in the growing daylight sun.

The others words caught the Desert King off guard. "Leanna...my Queen is with cubs?" The thrill in his heart was quickly crushed by the others words. "What do you mean?"

Ling was rather amused by the younger male's response. At least Leanna had not been lying, he did not know of the cubs she carried. "Your queen...my Leanna, is pregnant with your cubs Mika'il. She told me herself just last night. If you will not trade a female for you mate...perhaps you will leave me a child in her stead."

Pandora was shocked as this, and took in a sharp gasp, imediately quieting herself. She doubted she had gone unnoticed, so she put her belly to the ground and kept completely still, not even breathing.

Pastel seemed to quiet quickly, her sleep lasting through the night in the gentle circle of Nuri's strong body. She purred and nuzzled against him, her head under his nuzzling into his mane. She was content like this, her nightmares kept at bay, and her body warm, her fear gone. As the sun rose the next morning, Pastel yawned, her eyes fluttering open with the first rays of sunlight hitting her fur.

Nuri felt the slow changes in the lioness next to him as she awoke. He raised his head and yawned, blinking the sleep away, before looking back at Pastel with a soft smile.

Pastel felt the male above her wake, her head shifting so she could lick him under his chin before smiling at his handsome face. "You stayed? All night?" She seemed surprised by this, half having expected him to leave her alone for at least the latter part of the evening. She blinked her eyes to clear away the fogginess and rolled her body, laying on her back, her bulging belly out for all to see as she stretched and near purred at the male.

"Well, no..." Nuri rose and stepped back, giving her room to roll over. He stretched and yawned, still standing, before he could explain. "I patrolled the area for a little while soon after you fell asleep, but when I came back you were shivering and having some kind of wild dream. So, then I stayed." He smiled at her again, still feeling a bit sleepy until his thoughts turned back to Ling. He had not heard the sounds of battle, but he still worried about their king. He was torn between watching over Pastel - and the king's unborn cubs - and aiding the king himself. Without meaning to, his eyes strayed in the direction Ling had disappeared off to.

Pastel nodded, so, he was not the perfect male that she had thought. That was a blessing in a way to her, perfection often became flawed in the end, it was best to have flawed and make it better as time went on. She sighed and rolled her body to her side and then to standing. "Nuri...?" She noted his far off glance. "What is it that troubles you? Has something happened that I do not know??"

Nuri sighed softly. "I didn't want to worry you... but last night there was that intruder in the oasis. That was why I went out patrolling. Ling seemed to have handled everything - there was no fight or anything, and nearest I can tell it was a lioness but she did not go back to the cave. Then later, there was the scent of a strange male... Ling went to investigate and he has not been back. There has been no sign of fighting that I have heard." He did not tell her how worried he was. Perhaps it was his job to worry, as the King's Advisor, but he had a more immediate duty to Pastel... No undue pressure or stress should be placed upon her shoulders, no moreso than she already suffered. He sighed and shrugged his shoulders. "I suppose if he felt he needed help he would have brought someone, or will call to them. So my question for you will have to be, do you think you are ready to go back to the cave? If not, perhaps some water or food?"

Pastel's expression shfted, her eyes filling with worry at the thought of two intruders in one night. "The king could...he could very well be hurt, could he not?? Could not the intruder have taken him off guard?" The female's eyes were large now, though she feared the king after what had happened, she was worried, worried for his queen, worried for the cubs. "Nuri...I...I will be fine...you should go..go and hold up your post...the king...he could very well need you more than I."

"I must see you safely back at the cave first... maybe you'll feel uncomfortable, but you'll be in good company. If we explain your situation I'm sure no one will think ill of you. If not, I'm afraid I will have to stay by your side." He wore, as he spoke, an expression of concern focused solely on her. Understanding was out of the question right now for him, but she seemed to calm whenever he was around. Probably, he reasoned, because she knew he could be trusted. Alone or among others she could not readily trust, she felt nervous, which could only risk her advancing pregnancy.
