"Sh, sh, sh, please miss you're too weak, you're going to hurt yourself. Allow me, if you would. Dr. Harold Surflue. You've taken some blows to the head and they won't heal unless you allow yourself more rest. If you feel a slight dizziness to the head it's because you fell into a seventh floor apartment and have probably gone for hours without a sip of blood. Please, don't make this hard on yourself. I haven't seen anything this bad for a while, but I know how to treat you all the same." I picked up the glass of blood and stirred it with a few drops of medication to ease the pain. I handed her the glass. "You're alright. Maybe you should go back to sleep, ma'am." It hadn't been until that moment that I realized what a spectacular face she had.
"I've missed you too." I sighed and looked east for any sign of the girl. Nothing. "But times are different. If I leave now..." I couldn't give her too much information, I needed to keep her oblivious for as long as possible. "Don't worry about anything. I'm going to find you a nice place to stay, far from here. A mansion by the forrest where you can hunt, and people to watch over you until the war is over. You're parents, too." I gulped quietly. "And then I'll send for you to come back, when the time is right. And we will have that beautiful wedding by the beach, just like you always wanted. After that we'll move as far from here as possible, to a place where there is no war or fighting of any kind." A tear tried to edge it's way out, but I wouldn't have it. The lie was drawn out so well that I could almost believe it was true. The first part was true, I would send her somewhere safe from harm to a far away town up north. But whether or not I would ever make it out of the war alive was a mystery, one that would probably have a horrible ending. I imagined my sweet Lillith, gazing out the window looking out to the drive, waiting for her dead fiance to come home and give her the fairytale ending she'd been waiting for. Instead, a four wheel jeep would pull up and one of my living fellow soldiers would hold a little blue envelope that enclosed the words I am horribly apolegetic to inform you that...

Alexia took the glass but watched him closely. "I have to go." She said and gulped down the glass in her hands. "Wait, why are you doing this?" She asked, her eyes skeptical of his intentions. She set the glass down on the floor next to her, and put a hand up to run though her now short hair. She sighed softly, and closed her eyes. "What was in that blood?" she asked. She could feel something tingly running though her veins, but could not place whether it was good or bad. It did not hurt though. "Where’s Asher?!" She bolted back upright, and though the blankets off of her, she pushed her legs off of the couch to stand, only to have her body give out, and drop her backwards onto the waiting couch.

Lillith nods her head. "I can't leave... not yet... too many other people need help... getting out... first..." she told Tommy. "and... I know... you might not... come back... from the war..." a single tear ran down her face. "Just... remember me... when you are... out there... alright...?"

"Why did I help you?!" My English accent choked on the words. "Well sorry, miss, but for a woman to fly into the window of a professional doctor is coincedence, but for him to take a look at her mangled body on his rug and walk out without a care is madness. And there is cough syrup in your medicine, I'm not poisoning you." I looked her up and down, a little disoriented by her bloody ingrateful manner. "Asher?" I wondered if she belonged in the mental ward at first, then realized that she had just fallen into a seventh floor window. "By the way," I said, "If you're trying for the whole spider-man thing, it really isn't working out for you."
"You will leave in five days, do you hear me? That's two days before the first battle will take place in the square, and I can assure you that you will be far enough to never have to hear the first cannon fire. Ever." It broke my heart to watch her endure these raids, I would not allow her to put up with the actual war. "And who else could I think of?!" My voice held a slur of rage. "The day I forget you is the day that I forget to breathe, Lillith! You will be my last dying wish, you will be my light toward heaven, and you will be in my final thought before leaving this world!" I shook her a little, then loosened my grasp and stroked her face. "You are everything, Lillith. But the best part is that you could have a future! If you were to just listen to me and leave with your parents, go away from here, you would live! You could come back when all is said and done, if that is what you wish, but not until then." My eyes didn't leave her's for a milla-second. I gulped. "And if telling you that I do not need you, even if it were a lie, would make you leave and save your life, I would do so." I looked to the sky at the stars looking down on us, realizing that I'd be up there not long from this moment, hopefully watching my love live her life on the streets bellow.

Alexia Sighed and rolled her eyes. "Asher, The man who practically pushed me off the roof." She said though gritted teeth. She closed her eyes momentarily to regain her focus the cough medicine made her a little 'off'. She laid back down, but now on top of the blankets a little more comfortable. "He... Kidnapped a girl I was caring for." She looked towards the window to see that it had been cleaned up but not repaired yet. "I need to find him." She said in a pathetic now hopeless tone.

"Ma'am, this really isn't the right side of the city for you." She couldn't belong to this side of Tamatha, anyone living here had to know it was no place to raise a child. "The medicine may cause a bit of drousiness, but it will pass." I added. "How old is the child, nine, ten? What is this 'Asher's' last name? How much of a threat would you say he is? Oh and is he, well..." I looked down at my feet and thought of a foul werewolf tossing the small girl in pig-tails around the city, "werewolf...?" The situation would be far worse if the kidnapper weren't a vampire...I think. "Bloody foul creatures of the night." I murmured beneath my breath.
I looked down at the man I was about to kill from the terrace of a five story building. He was all alone, staggering down the street after at least five glasses at the bar two blocks over. Foul. I took out a little broken vanity mirror from my pocket and made sure I had just enough make-up on to lure him over. My lips shimmered slightly and my lashes were just curved enough to draw attention. Human, I was sure. It wasn't too hard to find them, even in Tamatha. Usually vacationers who had horid travel agents or buisnessmen who passed by very often. Buisnessman, I thought. His tie was loosened and hung lazily around his neck, swinging as he stepped across the cobblestones. I could almost smell him from where I crouched, his quickly dabbed on cologne and whisky breath was pungent in the air. I swooped down into an alley and stepped out in front of him, not trying to very subtle considering he wasn't very aware of the world around him. He stopped short a foot away from me. "Hey there," he said, forcing back a belch. Gross. "You all alone, hon'?" I took a step up. "Sure looks like it," I said slyly, trying to seem like I was flirting. "You wanna go for a drink, sweetie?" he smiled and walked closer. He smelled horrible. "Sure," I said pulling a fake I.D. out of my back pocket. Dusk had gotten it for me in case anyone questioned us when in a bind. He took my arm and guided me to the nearest bar.

Alexia shook her head. He did not understand at all. "No Asher never told me his last name, I never asked. He is a vampire, and he is in the military" She paused and looked down at her bandaged hand before looking back up at him. The girl's name was Dusk*, She is seventeen, maybe sixteen I was never told." She sighed and looked up at the ceiling. I Help run a safe house and was entrusted with her safety before the house was found and we had to flee or be captured. My partner was captured and I don't even know if he is still alive." She Rolled over to look at him with pathetic eyes.

"F-five days...?" Lillith replies. "B-but I've... just found you... again..." she stops and coughs up blood painfully. "And where... would I go...? And the others... that survived the fire... I can't just... leave them..." Fresh tears welled up in her eyes as she clung to Thomas tighter.

I looked back from Asher to the man who stepped out of the car, unsure of what to do. I took a few steps towards him, making sure to keep at least a foot in between us. 'How about I slit your f***ing throat and the rest of your buddies over there go on their merry way." I smirked, pulling my dagger out of my right boot.

"Dusk," I said, and appeared by her side. I put my arm around her waist, casually holding her back from doing anything irrational. "Look, if you tell us where your friend got the blood on his knife we can be on our way and allow you to continue waisting your corrupt lives on the streets of scum. Otherwise, perhaps I'll let the girl do what she wishes with you. Trust me, we are not ones to toy around with our enemies." I stared him down, his baggy pants caressing the filthy street. "Maybe if the girl wants, we could all go for a little ride, I know this great bar down the street where we can all discuss exactly where my buddies found the blood. If you're interested that is," he said, looking at my bare chest with wide eyes.
"Lillith, damnit!" I scowled, wanting to shake sense into her. Her eyes were wide with confusion, but there was nothing to confuse her! How couldn't she understand this? "Forget me, forget them! You can live, damnit! You can live through one of the worst wars in the history of Tamatha! When you look back at it someday you'll be happy! That's all I want! Who would tell your story, if you were to die in a raid, or be shot in the head, or burn in a fire! If I cannot live through this then you must! The others will find a way out! It's being arranged all over the city, and you will be exactly fifty miles away, far from here!" I was crying now, my tears connecting with her's on her beautiful face. "What can I do to get you to understand?" I murmured under small sobs.

I raised my eyebrow as the man looked over Asher's sleek form. "Sorry, he doesn't roll that way." I slid my hand over Asher's chest and watched the man's face turn red. "A few drinks does sound pretty good, though,"

"Shall we, then?" I grimaced at the man who had so willingly eyed my body with a slight compassion. He smiled and raised a quick eyebrow. I couldn't bare to watch the rugged vampire man flirt with me. "We won't be taking the car, we can walk from here. I assume your friends will wait there for you?" I said, gesturing toward the convertible full of seventeen to twenty year olds all staring at Dusk's figure. The three of us walked to the bar. Just to get on the nerves of the men in the car, I tightened my grip around her waist and bent down to plant a kiss on her smooth forehead.
"So..." I said, watching the man indulge in yet another glass of beer. I reached over our table and twisted a lock of his messy hair. "You sure you don't want anything to drink, honey? It's on me." I giggled, trying to seem like I was attracted to him. "No I'm fine," I whispered, giggling. Maybe I should have gone into acting. I looked down his slender body, definitely one of those high ranked businessmen that was always going to the gym to keep up the figure. I wanted so badly to roll my eyes when I saw his wallet open up to a picture of two little children and a woman by their side. Of course I felt no affection toward the man, he was hitting on a woman who was not his betrothed, which sickened me. "Crap..." I murmured as Dusk, Asher, and a man who was smirking girlishly at Asher walked in. I turned my head, praying they wouldn't see me and get the wrong idea.
We took a seat at one of the booths, the man sitting across from us. "Is that...crap!" I muttered to Dusk, noticing her sister flirting with a scruffy looking human six feet away from us. "What the hell..." she was twisting his hair, putting a look on his face that told me that he definitely wasn't looking to make friends tonight. Her tube top definitely wasn't helping.
I tried to cover up my embarrassment by leaning in on the man, hoping I wouldn't be recognized. I winked at him and did the only thing I could think of to get him wanting to be out of the bar in an instant, racing toward his hotel room. I kissed him affectionately, but the worst part was that he kissed back. I almost couldn't stop, his smell lured me in wanting him more and more. I stopped and pulled away a little, watching him gasp for air. "What say we leave, after I just have one more glass. I've got a room at one of the nicest hotels in town." I smiled, a little anxious to leave as soon as possible. "How about we leave now," I suggested. I wondered if he would argue, then saw the look on his face. "Okay," he said.
I watched Dawn please the man to a degree where they were both picking up their jackets and preparing to leave.

The sharp tone addressed to her made Lillith inhale sharply, and she bit her bottom lip to keep from crying anymore than she already had. She didn't even want to say anything else. She could feel nothing other than coldness, and prayed that Dawn hurried with whatever blood she could find. "I'm not going... unless... you kiss me... goodbye..." she finally whispered, tilting her head to look up at him, the tears flowing freely in long streams down her face again. She wanted one last kiss, just in case Dawn wasn't fast enough.... or if he really did get killed in the war.

I could tell how much I was hurting her, it killed me horidly. "Kiss?" I asked. All she wanted was a kiss. "Have it your way," I said and leaned in to kiss her softly, then quickly pulled away. Her mouth was dripping with her cough of blood. The smell drove me crazy, I couldn't hurt her. "When you are better, we will kiss for as long as you wish. But not until then. I can't bare enjoying the smell of my loved one's blood. Sick." I murmured into her ear.
We walked down the cold street and I remembered the time. One-thirty, I prayed Lillith would still be holding on after half an hour. The hotel was a few blocks away, we were almost there.

The darkness came back once more, but quickly returned, faster than it had other times. My eyes were tightly closed as a sharp pain ran over each of my limbs. I clenched my fists together as if it could ease some of the agony. it didn't. I repositioned myself so I was sitting up and gradually started to open my eyes. A long narrow ally lay in front of me. I guessed that the unknown group of people no longer had a use for me...
I took a seat next to Asher. My attention was immediately drawn to a couple who seemed to be getting a little too close in a bar. Once their kiss ended my jaw dropped. Dawn. The image of the last time we spoke returned to me. Her face stricken with pain and sorrow. I shook my head to rid myself of the awful thought. I wanted to run over to her and embrace her tightly but at the same time I knew I couldn't. She was busy...with a man. I didn't know how to deal with her doing something like this, but I guess it was how she felt when I was with someone. I wish I knew how she felt about him, was he for real, or just dinner? I continued to stare at her as she began to exit the bar with him and my instincts kicked in. I had to protect her, even if she didn't need it. I slipped out of the booth and made my way over to her. Just as she started to cross the threshold I grabbed her wrist and pulled her back to me. "Dawn," was all I could manage. I clung onto her tightly as I tried to think of what to do next.
