Sirius looked up, quirking an eyebrow under his mask. There was something distinctly familiar about that voice. Sirius assumed that the girl was in one of his classes, and he shook his head goodnaturedly. "I'm not such a fan of dancing. Besides which, I'm afraid I might kill half the school if I tried."

Kailyn laughed slightly, although something was bugging her. "I'm not sure how you'd manage that, but I'll take your word for it." She said, grinning more widely. Okay, so socializing isn't that hard. Wonder who it is though? His voice is SO familiar!

Sirius grinned. "That would probably be best." Her laugh seemed familiar too. Not directly familiar, of course, but the kind of laughter that you overheard at lunch or in the halls. She was probably Gryffindor, then. Maybe even his year. Merlin, what was her name? "Considering that a demonstration would be positively lethal. So what about you; why are you out here? I won't believe you if you say that your dancing is as dangerous as mine."

Kailyn shrugged. "I'm not so terrible at dancing, I'm just...." She paused, hoping she didn't sound snotty. "...Bored, honestly. The most interesting thing that's happened so far was finding someone hidden behind the drapery!" She laughed. "Okay, so that was pretty entertaining." Kailyn was pretty sure she had seen that grin before, but she just couldn't put her finger of it.

Sirius laughed. "It sounds like it. Care to explain why they were..." He cleared his throat before breaking into slight laughter again. "Hiding behind the drapery? Is that the new 'cool' pasttime? Disappearing behind ancient, moth-infested cloth?"

Kailyn smirked, waving a hand airily. "Oh, to be sure. Or I suppose that said person was simply made to come, and didn't want to socialize." She sympathized, too. The Gryffindor would have rather been sitting in a tree somewhere, drawing or reading, than attend a dance where she knew no one in a school where she knew few anyways! Ah, well. Can't be helped. Besides, there were a few people who caught my eye. One in particular, but I wonder where he went off to....

Sirius shrugged. He was thinking about Remus. Remus was now still at the punch bowl, making conversation only with the house elves that were going to refill the bowl. Moony looked rather miserable. "No reason for them to hide behind a drapery." He fought off a smile. "Really, now. Come on. Think of it. Hiding behind a drapery?!" he asked witheringly.

Kailyn shrugged. "Hey, I never said it was original...." She replied, raising her eyebrows at his tone of voice. This conversation was going nowhere, anyway. "Pleasant talking to you, but if you'll excuse me, I am going to continue on my merry way." She said dryly. Nodding her head to him, she stepped away, towards the wall and punch bowl.

Sirius saluted to the girl and leaned back again at the balcony, looking up at the moon. It was almost full moon, and that was exciting.

Remus yawned, slumping onto his arm. He had had his fill of punch, and was still counting the minutes. He straightened up slightly when Kailyn came towards the bowl, and he shifted out of the way. "Sorry. Didn't mean to be in the way."

Lily flattened herself against the wall, trying to go as unnoticed as possible. So far, she believed that no one had spotted her. She inched herself along the walls, hoping to be asked to dance if someone saw her... as long as it wasn't James Potter. Oh dear... what if I don't recognize him and he asks me to dance?? What then? Ack... that would be horrible. But surely I would recognize him... he is always pestering me. I can't miss him. I'm sure of it...

Luke walked to the refreshment table and waited for a chance to take a cup of punch. He gave a sigh as the girl in front of him took her time; he wasn't particularly patient, and it was showing a bit. Twitching one of his wings, he took note of the girls costume. She must be a Slytherin, probably Narcissa or Andromeda Black. There are few that I can think of that would be so proud to wear the colours of their house. Cocking his head to the side, he continued his mental monologue. I rather like the costume though. I would just never wear something so obviously..... Slytherin. Looking around, he tried to pinpoint the young woman that he had set his eyes upon earlier, finally spotting her. He turned back to the refreshments, planning to ask her for the next dance.

"No trouble." Said Kailyn, smiling at him. Obviously, this one didn't want to be here either. She selected a pre-filled cup, and turned to find a rather interesting, perhaps intriguing individual. "Cheers." She said dryly, taking in his unique costume.

Gwin scooted along the wall, painfully making her way to the punch table, making sudden ducks and lunges, apparently trying to keep an eye on Alysson, and get a drink at the same time. The second time she tripped over someone, (a particularly nervous gypsy-looking girl), she finally muttered, "Sorry." in an abashed tone, and quickly pulled a cup of punch, making a few quick glances between Luke and Kaylin. She then shrugged a little to herself, and settled a few feet feet away from Remus, sipping at the tangy punch. Gwin couldn't help glancing out at the swirling couples, and, catching a glimpse of Alysson swirling with a dashing young man, choked a little on the punch, sending herself into a minor coughing fit. She batted her hand infront of her mouth, her watering eyes scuttling elsewhere. To a balcony, to be precise. She looked at the lone figure there, and felt a fimilar heat creep up her neck. Something about the way he was standing/leaning was-
Gwin shook her head, turning away from the figure. It wasen't him. That would be almost impossible. She took another sip from her cup and sighed, wiping a choke tear from her cheek. Gwin gave a small chuckle at what her appearance must be, almost crying over a mis-swallowed gulp of punch.

Lorian eventually bumped into Rockelle, mumbling to herself about some girl's dress. She couldn't help but roll her eyes.
"Rocky, you should know better- You don't gawk at someone else's guests at their party. Bad karma." she nodded sagely before tapping on Rockelle's shoulder.
"Ten minutes until show-time, are you ready?" she asked casually, her voice a touch quieter than usual. A wicked smile began tugging at her lips, and she raised her eyebrows. "Are you ready?" she repeated, a bit dramatically.

Remus smiled wryly. "Cheers." He lifted his fourth or fifth cup. He took a long sip, and looked up at the girl a little wearily. "How long d'you think you can stay without going mad?"

Sirius rumpled his hair with his hand, studying the room. He almost laughed out loud. Of course. All the girls were with Moony. The one fellow in all of Hogwarts who couldn't appreciate his unbelievable good luck. But it wasn't all the girls. Only one was talking to him, the same girl that had been on the balcony just a bit before. And another one was apparently choking. She seemed a bit familiar too, but again, Padfoot was unable to put his foot on the semblance. He looked straight at the choking one, trying to decide whether she was going to be alright or not.

Rockelle put on her twisted smile. “You bet. So where is our position during this whole thing huh?” She replied, raising her hands in a shrug. Rockelle was not the one who was good with plans. She was the one who always asked questions and then it goes right through her ears. She honestly tried hard to remember but didn’t always get it.

Nadia has stopped at the door way to the hall, breathing heavier than usual. After catching her breath she made her way back to the punch bowl. She helped herself to a cup and walked past every one out to the balcony with out a word. Nadia didn’t know what to say. So she said nothing at all.

Lorian loudly smacked her forehead, giving a gutral, frusterated sound.
"Are you going to go mad on the drums or not, Rocky?!" Lorian shook her head, causing the brunette's hair to bounce. She gave a sigh, swiveling her close friend towards the stage, where some wanna-be's were playing onstage.
"You'll be on the other side of the stage, ready for your entrance with the rest of the Hoodlums, and when it suddenly goes black, you do whatever you need to do to get up there and make fireworks. That'll signal me to get the pyrotecnics started, and then all you have to do is rock out!" Lorian grinned.

Gwin gave a little cough and tried to smile at the young man sitting in the chair nearest her.
"Oh," she gave a small, ungraceful sniff. "Give or take twenty minutes." she shrugged, recovering from her spaztic choke, and fanning herself with great embarassment. Gwin continued to gaze at the dancers, refusing to acknowlege the eyes she felt on her.

Kael spun around with Andromeda in his arms and grinned. In another moment, he would let go, he promised himself. This is the last dance. Last one.... Any minute now.
It wasen't often that the Shakelbolt had trouble sticking on task, but for tonight, he couldn't help but be a little happy. No Talos illiminating the other dancers, he and Andy were finally dancing together, what else could the night possibly bring?
Talos wriggled to the music, bobbing her head and swinging her hands. In all honesty, she didn't know how to dance, and that was OK. She liked to watch, more than dance, but every moment had it's own (moment). This was her only dance, and she was going to make the most of it.
Giving a grin as the song ended, Talos backed off from the main body of dancers, deciding to be ready for the grand enterance a little ahead of time.
"Five minutes." she mumbled to herself as she dashed to the bathroom. She changed her hair to an unrully strawberry red, and thew on a positivly wild Loeta-steele dress, and pulled on tall black boots.
They weren't called the Hoodlums for nothing.
