Remus nodded thoughtfully. "That's not half bad. As for your coughing...might I recommend the pink punch?" he asked, pointing at a glass. "It's much better than the orange."
Sirius raised his eyebrows under the mask. Now she was distinctly avoiding her gaze. He could tell. It wasn't hard; she was looking very pointedly away from the balcony. Kailyn! It had to be her. Feeling triumphant, he walked back in, ambling casually over to the punch. He bumped into her with his award-winning, practiced bump. Light enough to not make them spill anything, but solid enough to demand an apology. "Sorry," he told the girl, looking at her quickly. The glance wasn't enough to insure that it was Kailyn, but he was almost certain anyway. "I didn't mean to run into you."
Remus, meanwhile, drained another glass of punch for fear that he would burst out laughing at Padfoot's attempt to woo this girl. It was always funny, even when Padfoot succeeded. Which, granted, was most of the time.

Luke nodded at the Slytherin girl and grabbed a glass of punch. After draining his glass, he set it back where a house elf could find it. Turning back around to face the dance floor, he seemingly made a quick mental descision. Walking up to the girl he gave a disarming grin and held out his hand. "Would you care to dance?" he asked with a smile that looked a bit more like a smirk playing across his lips. "Once they put on some decent music that is..." he added quietly as an afterthought, more to himself then to the girl in front of him.
{{Quick thing... what music is going on right now? I'm a bit confused about the whole "Hoodlums" scene and all that. I want my character to ask someone... but I don't know what songs are playing right now! @_@
And sorry for the boring post. >.<}}

"Could have fooled me." Gwin muttered tartly under her breath. (OOC: MAN, I wish I could do THAT!) Any observer could almost see small cracks forming in the glass in her hand. She glanced sourly at her punch, and then at the young man who bumped into her, and felt like flushing for some reason. She was being rude. Gwin desperately pulled at staws.
"Er, no, it's all right." she murmered, putting a little more space between them. Gwin glanced at Remus, for she was almost sure that was who it was, and gave a small nod. "You're right, maybe I should just stick with the pink." she chuckled a little, and with a flick of her wand, emptied her cup, and reached for the pink punch's ladel.

Padfoot grinned at Moony, and each could sense that the other was grinning right back. "Pink?" asked Padfoot, getting an empty glass. "Not my favorite color, but could you pour me some anyway?" he asked, getting himself right next to the girl and holding his glass out. Moony burst out into a small fit of coughing.

Gwin consitered flat out denying him when all the lights went out. Behind all the screams that errupted, Gwin could faintly make out the spell, "Sonorus." chorused by a few others.
"We are the Hoodlums, and Hogwarts, we have just entered your world." Adina snarled into the darkness.
From corners of the room, magical fireworks shot up, lighting up the room with neon light. The sparks showered down (Disappearing inches above everyone's heads.) as they streaked across the room. The lights slowly faded on, and standing on stage were the Hoodlums.
Originally, Adina had planned on being on world tour by now, but this was good enough. She, her twin, Rockelle, and Talos (in disguise) were now all on stage, their instuments at the ready, and starting a musical introduction. "This first piece is called 'Striking out for Paradise'."

Kailyn grinned. She had sharp enough ears to have heard an inkling, and had been expecting something..... Unexpected, so to speak. Nodding to Gwin, she disappeared behind a curtain. When she came out, she had a roguish smirk on her face, and her dress was no longer floor length, but to her knees. Kailyn was ready to party.
Leah whooped, almost tripping again. "All right, rock on Hoodlums!" She yelled, making her way to the front and tripping into someone, effectively starting a mosh pit.
James carefully made his way over right next to Lily, and 'accidentally' bumped into her. "Oh goodness, I'm sorry!" He apologized over the music. "Let me make it up to you- Care to dance?" He smiled dashingly.

Moony somehow crawled away from the stage and punch bowl, and came up only at the balcony. He wasn't suited for these sorts of shinanigans.
Padfoot, meanwhile, was seriously impressed. These Hoodlums, whoever they were, had potential. Maybe even talent. He looked around for Kailyn now. It seemed like a decent enough time to ask for a dance. He set down his glass and squinted. He didn't want to get the wrong girl, after all.

Gwin gave a small "Thank God." into her cup as she drained it, and, with a small glance at Sirius, made her way into the pit of dancers. She swayed with the music, bobbing to the music amicably. She knew they were good, appreciated their music, and was going to enjoy it, even though the rest of the night might suck.
The Hoodlums held nothing back, pressing showmanship, while keeping the music well-done. Adina pumped her fists in the air in the chorus,
'We are striking out for paradise
To bedlam below-
The mad parade is comming home!'
The music itself was rocking, electronica, and totally unconfirmed. (TSO, Shawn Luke Baunte, Pink Floyd, and Curious kind of a mix.)
Alysson stumbled out of the crowd, totally wiped. She leaned against the wall, socializing.
[OOC: Yes, I know, I changed the name of the song... I didn't know the actual name at the time!]

Kailyn had figured out who Remus was, and she grinned Cheshire-like as she came over to the balcony and grabbed Remus's hand. "Come on, Mr. Wallflower, you gotta live a little!" She laughed, pulling him into the dancing area and sticking him with a pretty Ravenclaw. She snickered, pleased with her matchmaking and amused at Remus's attempts to leave.
She ran into Leah in the front; Leah was a bit stuck in the mosh pit, as unsteady as she was.
"Hey Leah, having fun yet?" Kailyn asked jovially.
Leah cheerfully knocked someone off their feet and smiled cheekily at the newest Rogue. "You know it! I've already given three people bloody noses, including Brain Chang!" She said triumphantly. "Any sign of the annoying thing?"
"No, I don't think so." Replied Kailyn. "But I'm sure keeping my eyes open- Did you see Remus? I dragged him in to a dance, and he is looking distinctly uncomfortable!"

Nadia had made her way towards the punch bowl. After she had gotten her fill, she made her way over to the mash pit to Kailyn and Leah. People kept bumping in to her and elbowing her. She tried to ignore them but her happy charm was wearing off very quickly. Finally she lost her patience but still trying to be polite she shouted "Excuse me please!" as she jabbed multiple people with her elbows. When she made it over to her friends she noticed Kailyn's peculiar grin. "What's with your face?" Then some one bumped into her and she whirled around yelling "Watch where you're mashing, punk." Suddenly she froze. raising her arms in a quick defeat she plastered a peaceful face on mumbling to herself. "Happy, happy thoughts."
Meanwhile, Rockelle was jaming on the drums. Tossing her hair singing along with the soloist. Providing excelent harmony as Adena screeched like a banshee!

"No, I don't..." began Remus. "I don't dance. I'm not being humble, or shy...I really, really don't..." He started to move away, and was seized by the Ravenclaw, who was energetically dancing. Much too energetically for his taste. When he spoke next, he sounded almost afraid, and he cursed Kailyn for getting him into this mess. "...I'm going to get some punch..."
Sirius cursed. Kailyn--or at least, the girl that he thought was Kailyn--had evaded him. Deciding to give up (for tonight), he resigned himself to moshing.

Slowly making her way though the crowds, Gwin saw Alysson wildly motioning to her, and thus, her mad elbowing, jumping/dancing to the other side of the Great Hall. It was much more of a feat than she thought, and when, finally re-emerging, she reached Alysson, was panting, and out of breath.
"You know," Alysson said brightly, patting Gwin on the back, "You could have just gone around the pit and walked over." Seeing Gwin's glare, she pulled back, glancing around quickly.
"Anyways, I just wanted to ask you if you were ready- I couldn't help but see your little run-in..." she trailed off with a flirtatous giggle.
Gwin cut her off with a glare.
"Okay, fine." she answered sourly, straitening up, and still a little breathless. As the two headed out, Gwin bristled as she heard a distinct 'basket case' and a hiss behind her. Normally, she would have turned around, claws already out, but instead cracked her neck viciously and continued moving. With Alysson in tow or not, she was out of here.
