seamlessly Inese responded "I don' know but it wont be long, and no good can come of it when it does. Anything we can do to slow it?" Taking the relitive peace of the run towards eminent danger to ready herself she was running through her pockets and patting herself down, unbuttoning the straps that hold her knives in and making sure her hair wont get in her eyes.

((Go read the first post, you'll see what I mean. Oh, and sasuke, please fix your post. This is literate RP, and it hurts my eyes...))
"No, we came by land." Bronwyn replied. She glanced over at Rori. "I'd guess about thirty minutes, but I'm no sailor." She replied. She squinted at the ship, then shook her head. "I'm not sure my magic is strong enough to bring them down." She said. "Not sure I'm brave enough to try it." She muttered to herself. According to the scrolls she'd read, powerful spells like that tended to draw energy from the caster. She didn't particularly want to try it unless necessary. Yet another reason card-users are dominant. She thought to herself.

"All card and magic users come with me. We need to strategize. Everyone else, arm yourselves and prepare for battle."
Leo gestured over to a nearby clearing and waited for the others to follow him. He looked up in the sky, trying to see the dragon man.
Where are you?

Marael gave a shrug and followed Leo. "So do you have something in mind?" She asked when they got to the clearing. Her eyes were likewise scanning the sky from time to time, looking for Mahna.

"Yeah, I do. But you guys aren't going to like it."
Leo looked around the clearing. There weren't as many card and magic users as he'd hoped. Not counting himself and the rest of his friends, there were maybe 50 others. Most of them didn't look like they'd ever seen real combat. They would have to make due, though.
Leo turned and faced the black ship. "Ordinary soldiers aren't going to stand a chance against that thing. So it's up to us."
Leo turned back to face the rest of the group. He knew his plan was insane, but there wasn't anything else tehy could do.
"I suggest that half of us form a covert strike force and attack that ship before it reaches the docks. We'll have the element of surprise: they won't expect such bold tactics. The rest of us should stay here and help with defendng the town."
Leo didn't state the other reason why only half were attacking the ship. It was obvious by scanning the peoples faces that they knew why.
In case we fail...

Rori had followed Leo and the others to the clearing. He looked Leo over. "Your plan has potential, but how do you propose we get to the ship to launch our attack. I'd try to steer clear of the shadows on the waters and already they're hemming in the exit from the docks. Also while we're on the subject of that shadow, what do we have on the table to slow it's approach? If we split into two squads those left behind should make it their main concern..." He trailed off, looking at the small gathering of card and magic users. They were in for a rough time of it, he was sure.

"Forget slowing it down: We don't need to kill whoever is causing the shadow. We just need to break his concentration so the shadow shield drops. Besides, I'm betting that shadow will repel any long range attacks against the ship." Leo stared at the shadow ship. It was moving slowly through the water. That was one good thing, at least. The shadow seemed to slow the ship down.
"If we manage that, the soldiers can concentrate the cannons on the ship. Once the first shots hit the ship, we leave. If he manages to put the shadow back up, at least we've killed some of his crew." Leo was open to any other suggestions. His plan was to vague, and he was pretty sure there would be weak points in it. He never claimed to be a master tactition. But they didn't have much time. They had to get on the ship before it hit the docks, or this whole conversation was pointless.

"That still doesn't tell us how we're getting to the ship to launch our attack. We don't have wings like our Lizard friend." He glanced up at the sky as though looking for Mahna.
"Think we can commandeer a boat, manage to get it out of the harbour unseen and beat the shadow before it closes in? Cause on the off chance that works we'd best hurry. It'd probably help if we had an illusionist to hide us."

"Actually, I was hoping Bronwyn might be able to do something about that little problem. And I've got the perfect ship in mind."
Then a thought occured to him. It was insane, but if it worked...
"Wait, we new plan real fast. We don't even need half of our guys to bring this ship down. We can do it with just you, me, Bronwyn, Inese, V, and Mahna."
Leo gestured towards the dock. He already had the perfect ship in mind.
"Okay guys, follow me while I explain."

Mahna moved back and forth across the water, his pearly White skin somewhat hiding him from sight. He had spent that last few hours watching the boats from behind, staying in between the main body of the Armada and the Single ship out in the distance.
He decided now was the time. He flew full speed over one boat, slicing the mast off with his Halberg, and throwing a man screaming into the blackened water. He turned, and as he did dozens of Card powers shot in his direction. He dodged what seemed to be a shadow, and a light blue beam of light before turning and moving full speed towards the people left in the Harbor.
As he made his way back he noticed about 20 small canoes with armed soldiers heading towards the harbor under the cover of the Shadow. He braced himself for a possible card attack, but none came. "Non-Magic Soldiers?" He said in his mind, before dodging a few arrow with ease, as they seemed incredibly slow from his high advantage point. His thoughts now gathered, he made his way to the harbor, folding his wings as he landed while he searched for the others.

Bronwyn, who had been staring at the shadow ship, thinking, jumped as Leo said her name. She started to reply to the illusion idea when Leo suddenly changed his idea and was running off. She gave a shrug and followed.
"Alright, we're listening. But you'd better talk fast...we're wasting time." She said, pacing Leo fairly easily. "What do you need us to do?"

Leo started pushing the ship into the water. As much as he wanted to wait for Mahna, they didn't have the luxury. They didn't know where he was. For all they knew, he might be on the shadow ship already.
"Okay, we've been assuming that we need the cannons to take down the ship. We don't. We don't even need to attack the card user. We just get onboard and start poking holes in the ship."
Leo smiled. The plan was insane, and it could get them all killed. But it was simple, and a lot easier. He liked it.

Rori chuckled, moving to help Leo get the boat in the water. "That's so ridiculously simple it just might work. We still have to get there to do it though... Bronwyn, you were saying something about illusions?"

Bronwyn nodded, staring in the general direction of the ship.
"We're not going to be able to just row up to them and start poking holes in their ship. We'll need an illusion of some sort, so they don't see us. I can do that, but it'll take a minute." She said, moving over to stand near the boat. "We'll have to get in, so it affects us as well as the boat."

"We don't have time to wait for Mahna. We've got to go now. Everyone aboard."
Leo didn't look back to see if the others were following. He jumped into the small boat. It was a fishing ship: not exactly a frigate. But it would do for what they had planned. As they climbed aboard, Leo continued to outline the rest of the plan.
"Bronwyn, just keep the illusion up until we get to the side of the ship. Once we get there, everyone just start blasting away at the hull. We need to move fast or we're dead."
Leo quickly examined a couple of rowboats. There was enough room for all five of them.
"Once we've done enough damage, we'll escape in these."
