As Hades trotted beside Artemis, he relayed the message Reina had sent. Lain wasn't the happiest of people when he was told Reina was taking time alone, and didn't want anyone to follow her, but of course,e her fellow knight understood all too well and did not retreat to join her. Lain thought back to when his parents had been killed, sure, Reina had not seen her mother taken from her, but the fact that she was gone was sure to be just as damaging to the young knight.

Eldric guided them toward a pub and inn, walked in before them and said a few choice words to the owner, and then bounded out the door, more than likely in the direction of his home. "Thank you Eldric, for all your help. We will aid against the Saxons if they return for the duration of our stay.."

At the word of Saxon ELdric turned and looked upon Lain and the others as if they had no clue what they were getting themselves into. He approached the group, his aged face looked almost mythical in the bleeding moonlight. "The Saxons? The Saxons themselves did not do this, but their beasts, that is who we fear, men are flesh and bone but, the dragons, those are the real threat now." Eldric turned on his heels and headed back down the path, deeper into the town.

"Dragons?...." He looked over his shoulder at Ryn and gave a quizzical look. "Since when do they use beasts to do their dirty work?" He spoke while removing His and Reins supplies and saddles from the horses, and then let them trot off into the night, giving them instruction that if they felt anything amiss, to retrieve Reina and bring her back to the Inn.

The bar was quiet this time of night. No doubt all the patrons were asleep for the night, either that or watching guard over their home. Anya, the inn keeper, lead the men to their rooms, and informed them that Reina's was just down the hall. Lain didn't feel too safe with everyone sleeping so far from one another, but it would be good for all of them to have some private time away from everyone else's eyes.

"Dragons... DRAGONS!", Ryn shouted once he was in his own room. He kicked the bed in anger, knowing full well that a dragon would be far harder to kill than a Saxon. He heard a plip, as if water was dripping, and looked down, to see blood trickling out of his palm. He sighed, and pulled a small strip of fabric from a pocket and wrapped it around his hand, to keep from bleeding all over everything.

Carefully he stashed his blade back up his sleeve, and began to investigate the room, when he heard a thunk behind him. Spinning he spotted a man there, holding a knife in his hand.

"Your not a very good assassin are you?", Ryn said, a cruel smile spreading across his face, as the man charged him. Ryn deftly stepped aside, flicking his own knife out, and ramming it into the base of the mans skull. With a gurgle the man fell to the ground.

Ryn left him there, as he stepped out into the hall, knocking on the door to Lain's room, going to tell him that if someone was trying to kill him, then Reina was no doubt in danger.

Reina's thoughts passed through her mind in many confusing questions she asked herself before. Why was she a Knight, because that is what she wanted or what her father wanted for her? No doubt, that if she could change her mind now, she wouldn't, she was loyal to her fellow brothers and to Camelot, her new home, her new family. Though much of her blood was erased, her family was not, and would always be there for her.

When she left this place at the age of five, and arrived at Camelot to meet the knights at seven, she had learned that this was her chosen destiny for her. Sir Lancelot was very generous to her, letting her join them despite her disposition, and the King, well, he himself treated her as any one of his Knights, with utmost respect. She grew up with them, learned from them, bathed and ate with them. They were her family, and all she had left, there was no way she would let anything happen to her comrades.

The night was misty, and silent, something she had grown used to over the years, and something she needed for the moment. She lay her head atop of the ledge on the balcony, watching the people move about with their every day lives, most of them returning home for a good night's sleep. Reina felt tired, sleepy, she needed to rest her mind and body if she was going to protect the people against the saxons. Two days they would rest, and hopefully, she would meet up with her other Knights, or, be faced to go into battle again. Only time will tell.

Lain had placed Reina's things in her room so they would be waiting for her when she finally arrived. His own belongings were stacked against the North wall of the room, and he disrobed, lying down in the bed on the East wall. It was warm enough inside that Lain did not need to cover himself with blankets. But the heat did not keep him from slipping into a daze, somewhere between being sleep and awake, and he was just drifting off completely when he heard a knock at his door. He pulled himself out of bed without hesitation, unlocking the hard wood plank from the inside, only to find Ryn on the other.

"Yes?" He asked. He was tiered, and wanted to rest before the sun rose in the next few hours so he could take care of supplies early and then help with rebuilding some of the town, and helping with any chores here and there. "Did you come to tell me Reina's back?" He stepped into the hallway, side by side with the assassin.

He highly doubted Ryn was there for idol chit chat though, and once again let his gaze fall upon the young boy. "You look like you've seen a ghost or worse even." He crossed his arms, his upper body was bare form the waist up, seeing as how he was dressed down for the night and even barefoot.

"Worse... A rather useless assassin was sent to kill me, and I suspect that if an attempt was made on me, then everyone else in this small group is in danger as well. Reina isn't back yet, and an assassin would have the best chance against her when she is out on her own.", Ryn said, quickly explaining to the best of his ability, why he was bothering the knight. Slowly he rubbed his knife against his clothes, to clean off some of the blood, while waiting for Lain to say something.

"This place has obviously changed since they were last here, and I doubt an assassin would be trying to kill me for doing my job when I am going by my real name", Ryn thought, blood still trickling out from under the small bandage on his left hand.

Reina was dozing off, the scenery and everything that happened withing the past day and a half was taking it's toll on her, causing her to become very tiresome. Though in her state of sleep, she could still hear the creatures play their music of the night, and it was a very lulling sound. True, Reina should have headed back already, she did not want to worry her friends anymore than they were already.

She did her best to lift herself up from the ledge, but she felt heavy, and way too tired to want to continue walking back down. If she could get a few more moments to herself.

Reina cought at the corner of her eye, someone, or something moving through the shadows underneath the tower, after looking her way. She drew her bow from her back and took her arrow, aiming it beneath her, watching the figure steady. She could rule out two obvious people, it was neither of the Knights, for they were told to keep at bay, nor would it be any of the Serionians, they knew it would be against them to act suspicious.

The figure ceased to move, it now blended completely with the shadows of the bushes and trees. Weather it was a beast, or Saxon, she didn't want to take that risk.

Lain only looked at Ryn, he was obviously concerned for Reina's safety, but it was ill founded. No one had been in Lains room, and Reina could handle herself, their best bet was to simply check her room for any intruders, and if it was in fact clear of any danger, he did not see a reason to worry. Ryn obviously thought Reina could not handle herself, but then again, he had not served with her to see her in battle.

"We can check her room, but I assure you, anyone who decides to wage war against Reina has made a grave mistake indeed." He gave the assassin a once over, noting his blood splattered clothing and his wounded hand. "Maybe you should really consider cleaning yourself up before you head to bed tonight." He retrieved his dagger, which was much longer than a dagger, but shorter than a sword and headed down the hall to Reina's room.

It was apparent that Ryn held little respect for the knights in his thoughts that they were feeble enough to be assassinated, especially by someone incompetent at that. The Knights of the Round table were Elite warriors, capable of handling themselves in any given situation, regardless of whom the enemy turned out to be. He knocked on the door of her room, calling her name. Nothing responded. Slowly he opened the door of the room, talking in as if he were looking for her, no one was there. Her room was just as empty as Lains had been.

Ryn watched Lain walk down the hall, and followed, looking into Reina's room after him. Under his breath he muttered,"They know nothing of the art of the Assassin, and so do not respect the fact that even the very best warrior can be killed, without anyone knowing the person was in fact in danger."

He entered the room, glancing around, searching for any hint that someone had perhaps set a trap, or even been in the room. He doubted that anyone had, and was quickly proved correct, as he knew that a good assassin did not strike in a place like this unless they were very sure of themselves. The one sent against him wasn't a good one, but that didn't mean that all of the assassins that might be sent were.

He turned to Lain and said, before walking past him back to his own room,"I did not think someone would enter her room."

((Ryn, just a warning, you've pissed off Lain.))

Reina knew it was time to head back, whether she wanted to or not. Heading down the dark set of stairs, she walked unafraid, because when one sense was disabled, another grew stronger, and that was where her elven ears played a part in here. Each step she took, she could hear it echo against the wooden stairs, and as she fell to the ground, she saw the area light up from the moonlight.

Reina knew someone, or something was following her, she could feel it in her bones. Reina stopped amidst her tracks, she could not see this enemy, but knew it was around, she closed her eyes, asking the trees to guid her to the intruder. Now, the trees and plants did not speak with words, but with motions and for a special trained eye and ear, one would understand their response. Reina continued walking, being very quiet until the threat would reveal itself.

Hades turned about the corner comming towards her, nuzzling his head into her shoulder. Reina tried pushing her horse away, but he would not, he knew better than to leave her behind, especially when someone was around.

There it was, the sound of the wind splitting, the sound she knew far too well. Reina could hear the direction it was comming from, taking her sword out and held it so the flat side would guard her shoulder.

DING

The sound of the sharp arrow hitting the blade vibrated and the arrow had fallen to the ground. Someone, an archer somewhere was trying to one shot her from afar. "Cowards," she murmured, holding the sword, and looking around. She could hear more arrows comming from either side of her, and she threw her sword around, hitting the arrows away with them.

"Look, Ryn, I don't care much for your kind. The type in fact who could care less that this kingdoms Queen is with child and being held captive by the Saxons. maybe you can be indifferent, and not care, and just want a big fat payout at the end of it all. But you will not underestimate the kings closest guard, the guard of the people and the Knights who act with justice and a free land in their hearts. You have yet to see any of us fight, I have served beside Reina since she was inducted into the Round Table, and I assure, no assassin, regardless of their skill, will best her, do you understand?" Lain was annoyed that this boy, who still had breast milk on his breath.

He didn't trust him, and it was for apparent reasons. "There are things about Reina you do not know, and she has killed plenty of your kind during her service to the crown." As much as Ryn knew about fighters, he knew nothing of the Elite. The Knights of the Round Table were the best, he just needed to see it for himself. No doubt the assassin had targeted him because he was more confident he could take out one of his own without a hitch.

"One of your...." His voice stopped. What was he hearing, the trample of feet, foreigners were here, he could feel the vibrations of their heavy boots on the hard wood floors of the Inn. "Get your stop, stop worrying about Reina, she's not your ordinary women, but rather, worry about your own a**, we have company." He looked toward the stairs, a blood curdling scream ascended them before even the first boot hit the stairs.

Lain made haste back to his room, throwing on light armor, planting his bow onto his back along with a quiver of arrows, and wielded his half sword with confidence. It didn't take long for him to hear people slamming up the stairway, and he was perched at the ready, his elven eyes flashing a dark green, and his right hand glowing a pale and mystical blue.

((Sure thing... I don't mind if the Saxon has something to do with me biggrin ))

Ryn listened to Lain calmly, taking it all in, and yet knowing with all certainty, that even the best could fall. His mother had been the best, and she had died, like any ordinary person, at the hands of thirty men.

A smile curled onto his face as he heard the men below. He stood there, calmly, in his leather clothing, the only armor he ever wore, and watched as the first of several armed men took a step onto their level of the building.

The instant his head was in view, Ryn flung one of his hidden knifes at the man, piercing his throat. With a laugh Ryn ran forwards, flicking one of his combat blades into his palm, and charging up on the second man. The other man swung his axe at Ryn, and he sidestepped it, plunging his knife into the mans forehead, before leaping back, and shouting,"Better hurry, or there won't be any left for you!"

((just making sure I've got the right health and all... razz ))
