Ebby smiled sleepily at the Deity for a moment before realizing that she had been given another task. She nodded once acknowledging that she understood her new task. She smiled as she recieved a pat from the Deity and a small purr resounded in her chest. She smiled at the bare spot where her Goddess once stood. "Well, dearest it seems I've been sent on another task. Why don't you go feast with the other bats while I go do this." Squeaker chirped softly, and flew off into the night to enjoy a large meal and other bat festivities. She stretched for a minute before springing out of bed and bounding down the halls towards her goal.
After one or two wrong turns she had finally made it to The Throne Room. She swallowed once and knocked firmly on the door. She paused for just a moment and entered. She bowed deeply to the Goddess, and then turned to face the other seated at the smaller throne. She strode up before him and stopped at a respectful distance. She nodded to him once before speaking. "I await your instructions Sir."

Vesira nodded to the zamphir that entered and smiled. She looked to her companion beside her. How nervous he must be! She put her paw on his reassuringly. She thought to him, purring slightly. She turned her attention back to the zamphir, keeping her paw on Malachi's. She had every confidence in his ability to command her race. He was a dark angelic, after all, powerful and cunning. He already sat at her side regally and without fear, and eyed her with an agreeable amount of adoration. She was very pleased, indeed. But one more task beyond this one would prove his worth to be her mate. Her grin widened.

Malachi looked at Vesira, feeling the touch of her paw upon his own gave him the last bit of strength he needed. Glancing at her once more she stared down at the Zamphire before him, his shoulders and chest held high, not at all like someone new to this job. "Your task is this, you must go to volcano that lies in this land of Hemlock, and come back with the stone that glows the most bright. Do not be deceived, it is not the stone that lies closest to the rim of this volcano, but the stone that lies the oldest. I do warn you, it is not to be touched by mere mortal hands, unless you find the sweet nectar of the golden bees that lies not a mile east of its base." He knew more than she about this stone, it would have to be a stone that no matter the age, still glowed red with fire. It was a stone that he himself had once owned the brother to, and he would soon, hopefully own the sister.
He knew well enough that it would be simple to ask of the bees an offering to any god or goddess, as it is what they fear the most, he just hoped she might figure to mention her own goddess' name in their presence. He was not one to over estimate, and by the look of this femme, she looked intelligent enough. "I leave you with one last thought. Keep your goddess, always in your soul, body, and mind." He nodded once more, most obviously done with his instruction.

Vesira's grin widened. She looked at Malachi with pleasure, purring her approval. She squeezed his paw gently and leaned over to kiss him upon the cheek. "You've pleased me," she whispered and returned to her position. She looked to the zamphir before them and nodded. "Complete this task and your rank will be increased. Serve us well." She flicked her twin tails with the dismissal and gazed back at Malachi. Her thoughts drifted to him.
((Hey Naru, I wanna rp them in a non-temple scene. Let's set up a special thread for them?))

Sterling sank onto his soft bed, feeling the gentle caress of the sheets on his fur. The room smelled slightly of lavender, and he breathed in the scent with pleasure. He crawled under his blankets, and drifted off to sleep, dreaming of the events of the day.

Vampirella ascended the short stairway to the entrance to the temple, marveling silently that the goddess had reached her from such a distance. Vampirella had met her goddess once before, briefly, but the deity had left a profound impact on the zamphir's life. Now to feel her silent call was a wonder. She entered the temple and made a quick survey of the area. Without delay she made her way to the Neophyte's chambers. The door became unlocked when she reached the hallway-certainly Vesira's doing. Vampirella found the door to Sterling's room and knocked softly. She was slightly puzzled at this errand, but would not question her Goddess.

Sterling dreamed of Zamphir surrounding him, each so beautiful, powerful, and seductive. He wanted to talk to them, to find out more about them, but each time he got close enough to speak, they vanished. He was just about to catch up to one when...
A soft knock at the door disturbed his sleep. He groggily opened his eyes, rubbing them with his paws before stumbling out of bed and to the door. "Yes?" he asked, opening the door to find a new Zamphir, just as beautiful as the others, standing outside his door. Realizing that this was probably Vesira's doing, he grinned and asked, "Do you have need of me?" He wondered why she was here now, after the feast was over. He assumed that he had met all the Zamphir that were coming tonight.

She smiled kindly at the baddie. "My name is Vampirella. I request your company, if you would have me?" Her voice was low and soothing, her demeanor calm. "My goddess has asked me to see to you, as she has become so busy with the patrons to the temple. I will see to your comfort." She gave a polite nod and offered her paw in greeting.

Sterling was astonished at Vampirella. She seemed so different from the other Zamphir. He smiled at her warmly, which was odd for him, and said, "Fine by me, then. If it's Vesira's wish, I would never oppose it. Besides, I would never refuse company as lovely as yourself." He took her paw and shook it, marveling at the strength of her grasp.

She accepted the compliment with a slight nod. She held herself with grace and utter confidence, her subtle charm underlaid by an overwhelming sense of power. She was one with a presence of mind and fluidity of speech, but she was a killer, a huntress, and she was very good at what she did. Still, a spark of sadness every now and again crossed her face, a deep thoughtfulness that brought shadows to her face. One such moment passed now for a fleeting moment, as though she wondered at the truth of the baddie's words. She gave a slight shake of her head as though to clear her thoughts and looked down at the baddie. "Vesira tells me you know very little of our kind. I will be happy to instruct you and take you around the temple. As we go along, feel free to ask me any questions you may have. My first lesson may be a harsh one, young baddie, so be prepared. I take you now to the outside of the temple, if you will accompany me?" She held out her arm for him to escort her.

Sterling was very pleased to accept her offer to instruct him in the ways of the Zamphir. Perhaps he could learn how to understand this proud race of huntresses. Sterling felt inferior to the Zamphir he had come in contact with. Here was his chance to learn why. "I will be pleased to accept whatever you wish to teach me...however harsh it may be, I wish to learn more about your kind." He took her arm, and together, they walked out of the temple.

The night was cool and dark. The moon was absent, but Vampirella's keen vision made up for a lack of light. She led the baddie away fro the temple a ways into the woods. It was silent here, save for the sounds of many bats flitting here and there, catching morsels artfully. She paused and took her arm from Sterling. "You will learn what we are, certainly." Her voice had a hint of remorse to it and suddenly she was gone. Had she faded magically like the Goddess? In the shadows it was hard to determine if she had, or if she was merely swift and silent. The latter was the more likely. In either case, Sterling was suddenly and hopelessly alone in the woods. There were little noises all around as the small nocturnal creatures went about their lives, but not a sound of anything larger than the bats flying about. Quite suddenly, there was warm breath on the back of Sterling's neck and the slight p***k of what was most likely a knife in his back. Vampirella whispered softly "We are wicked huntresses and never to be underestimated. This is lesson one. Know with certainty that if you weren't in the protection of the Goddess, any Zamphir would find sport in hunting you."

Sterling looked around blindly when she disappeared. He didn't know where she could have gone. When he felt the knife at his back, sweat began traveling down his forehead. He knew that the Zamphir were dangerous...but, he'd never imagine that they would think of him as prey. "Why is this?" he asked, his voice shaking.

She removed the blade from his back and in a deft movement of her hand it was gone to whatever hiding place it had been in. "Because of your fear. You are weak, and that makes you sport." She walked around him to face him again. "Don't worry, your kind isn't really our preferred prey. That lesson will be lesson three. Time now for lesson two. It won't be as harsh as the first." She took his arm gently and lead him a bit deeper into the woods. She sighed, unhappy with this part of these lessons. In one swift movement she had a small rodent in her grasp. Without hesitation she brought it to her lips and bite into it, drinking its blood. She cast it aside in disgust. "Not my favored." She turned to Sterling. "We are a breed of half-vampires." She opened her mouth wide to expose her fangs to the baddie. "We crave blood, but don't really need it. At least not often. Food is also unnecessary. We are powerful creatures, unnaturally so. We have to be. Our favorite creature to hunt is powerful as well. This is lesson three: We hunt Vampires." She paused, looking at Sterling to see if he had any questions and wiped the blood from her face.

Sterling hated the fact that he had fear. He knew that he was weak, but could see nothing that he could do to fix that fact.
He was rather shocked when she drank the rodent's blood. But, he hid his shock rather well. He didn't know that they were half-vamps. Of course, he wouldn't have been able to recognize that fact, because he had never met a Zamphir before just recently, and he had never met a vampire ever.
As far as questions go, Sterling had to recover from her fanged display first. So, after catching his breath, and attempting to digest everything that he had seen, he tried to voice some questions. "How can I not worry, if I am viewed as sport?" he said, frowning at her. "And shouldn't I be fearful of a race stronger, faster, and more cunning than mine?"
