Aiane blinked her eyes open. She yawned and itched her face on her hoofs. She stood up and stretched yawning a little more. She looked next to her and saw Hidalgo. At first she was surprised because she forgot that he slept next to her last night. She smiled and walked out from under the tree and smiled up at the sunrise. "It's as beautiful as the sunset!" She looked at Hidalgo a bit and started to gallop around the small area. After a nice morning work out she trotted back to Hidalgo.

He had come to full wakefulness when he heard Aiane start to stir, and decided to just remain where he was as she prepared herself for the new day. He was a little tired, but wasn't feeling too bad. Nothing had happened during the night, which he was happy for. Once, he had been startled out of his dose by a scuttled, and saw a mouse not to far from his nose. Not far on the heels of the mouse had come a great owl, diving soundlessly through the night air like one of the ghosts talked about in stories. The owl had been so close to him, that the end of it's long feathers had brushed the tip of his nose as it grabbed the mouse, and flew away with it back to its burrow, where it was to share it with its young.
Hidalgo watched the blue and white mare as she emerged from under the boughs of the trees, and out onto the plains, galloping for some reason or another, as if she were a filly who had extra energy to burn. And he wouldn't have argued with that. She was one of the rare few, that no matter the age, was still young at heart, and it was these he loved watching the most, for they made him feel as though he wanted to join into their frolicking and playing, which of course he did not. For someone always had to have their eye on those types of Soquili lest they get themselves into massive amounts of trouble, and need to be rescued. But for now, there was nothing around here she could get into too much trouble with, so he rose to his feet, and indulged himself in a thorough and pleasurable shake, that started at his head, and made it's quivering way back to his hind quarters; dust raising in a cloud all around him like a brown halo.

Aiane blinked and smiled when she saw the Hidalgo was awake. She trotted a bit faster and stopped right in front of him. "Good morning how did you sleep last night?" She asked with a wide smile as her breath was fast yet even and calm. "I was just going out for a mourning run, I've been irching for a nice gallop all night."

You looked like you were enjoying yourself. And I didn't sleep too badly last night. He raised his head and gave her a greeting now. It looks as though you slept really well.

Aiane smiled, "Yes I was enjoying myself. That's good I'm glad you slept nicely." She started to dig in the dirt with her hoof and stopped. She looked up at him again and slimed. "I slept a little too well. I have a lot of energy! well I always have energy in the morning!" She itched her nose on her leg and smiled.

Well then, would you like to go for a run to work some of it off? Hidalgo took a quick trot around the tree, to loosen up his legs and to remove the stiffness that they had gained during the night as he'd slept. It wasn't too bad though. He had made sure to keep them from getting too stiff, just in case he had to run to face prey or something else during the night.

Aiane smiled and nodded her head. "Okay lets make it a race," She said looking around for a good finish line. She was confident in her speed and thought this would be fun. "Ah lets run from here to the closest tree that way." She threw her head north in an attempt to point the way.

Hidalgo looked over at the tree in the north, barely looking half the size that he knew it was. He nodded at her choice of finish line, and turned back to her. That looks like a good place to run to. So should we start at the count of three?

Aiane looked at him and nodded. "Okay I'll count." She smiled at him and looked at the tree before she started her count. "One, two... THREE!" The second she said the last number she burst forward into a gallop her legs pumping hard. She tucked her head into her neck to help concentrate, but it didn't last long as her head flew up into a loud whinny. Her neat gate turned into a wild run as she hadn't raced in so long.

Hidalgo wasn't a sprinter. He liked longer runs. so she took the lead quickly, as he got a slow start, but as he continued running, he picked up speed, and was slowly gaining on her.

Aiane happened to have great stamina,and great speed. Well above average compared to most. She looked back seeing that Hidalgo was catching up to her. She smiled larger and started to run faster. If she could save up during the long run she could sprite at the end.

Hidalgo noticed that she was picking up speed, and started to increase the pace as well. His legs were shorter, and it meant he took about two steps to her one, but he was compact and had lived rugged. He was born to run.

Aiane looked back behind her seeing him running even faster. She smiled and started to laugh. She hadn't run like this in years! She started to buck and jump out of excitement.

He watched her bucking and kicking, and whickered encouragement to her, though still keeping his pace, though he wasn't adding anymore speed. He was enjoying watching her run.

Aiane smiled and started to whicker as well. She calmed her run some though she was still jumping some. She started to trip some but jumped to save her self.
