She sighed in relief and closed her bag once they left. Her legs were cramped with how straight she had been standing and they hurt now when she moved. She culd still smell their breath and could tell someone had been smoking marijuana. She felt like throwing up but saved her dignity by taking in huge gulps of air. Once she felt somewhat better, she opened her mouth to tell the officer when she heard her name called. She spun her head to see Carlos. She looked at him in shock wondering why he had returned. She smiled guiltily and raised a hand in response. "I'm fine," She said before she turned to the cop that was talking to her and nodded. "I won't sir." She seemed completely at ease and she was. She had delivered a message to Kali, daughter of Mr. Chen, the greatest crimelord to rise in that city. It wasn't illegal as she was simply a correspondence between a lawyer and a client. She knew she had done nothing wrong and could defend herself with words but she wanted nothing to do with looping through the law or have questions being drawn. away from her few awards and highly publisized family life, Thakorise jept everything on the low. Everything included her close relationship with Kali Chen. I word got out to the masses, it spelled trouble with capital letters.

He gave a weak smile to Thakorise and was ready to excuse himself when he noticed that something about her looked familiar. Squinting his eyes a little he realized she could be related to someone he knows, but he tried to think of who it was. Finally it dawned on him, she was most likely the daughter of the lawyer who represented the one and only Mr.Chen. Well I'll be damned ... He could not help but chuckle softly to himself as he came upon the realization. She was related to the very man he intended on questioning about his ongoing investigation against Mr.Chen. An investigation which has been on a little bit of a hiatis due to the growing number of bad cops and good cops who don't care anymore. Putting Mr. Chen behind bars would be a crucial blow against the criminal underworld and it is something he would like to see happen. Looking at Thakorise and her friend he regained his composure and explained his little outburst of humour. " Sorry ... I just realized that you looked like someone I have heard of miss. I think he is your father, a lawyer correct?" He wondered if she knew the kind of man her father helped protect from justice. What does she think about what is happeneing to the city as long as men like Mr. Chen remain in power.

"I'm not a kid." Ray almost said it with disgust. "Kids don't live on the streets for as long as I have. Kids don't bust people's faces for money. Kids aren't members of a gang and find that that's their only family because their real family's dead."
"You forget. I live in the same world you do." He said in a matter-of-fact manner.
"But yeah, I'll go with you... I'm not going to ask for too much, but I'm not going to accept this job for chump change, y'know? After all, bein' a goddamned bodyguard probably isn't all it's cracked up to be..." Ray sighed in a fit of remorse. What had he gotten himself into?
He hoped it would be worth it...
Then again, all he had to lose was his life.

Konrad finished his eavesdropping and set down the newspaper. He pulled out the appropriate money and a five dollar tip for Maddy. "I'm off to work. I'll see you later, Maddy," he said before exitting the building. It was a simple tactic, but often one hard to pull off for those new to the art. Enter after your target and it's normal. Enter AND leave, and you've given yourself away. Leave before and watch for them, and it you pass off smoothly. The difficulty came with trying to spot your target without being spotted spying. Thank whatever God you wanted that he practically owned this section of town. Living on this turf, he had gained access to every building and knew all the ins and outs. Albeit, that wouldn't help him once they started to move away from his known territory, but it was best to take advantage of every resource you could. So he watched from a corporate building across the street, keeping his cover by speaking with one of the guards on break.

Damn my father's genes, Thakorise metally cursed herself. Like the women in her father's family, she was tall and well curved as many other woman. What took her apart was the bluish-green eyes that seemed to change hues as she moved, and the light blonde hair. It shone and shimmered as light hit it and was unnnaturally healthy. Her greatgrandmother had her shimmering hair still, unchanged with no greys. It was dead straight but it hid the deep cut cheeks that gave her cold beauty. It hid most of her blushes and the fact that she had a bit of a big head. Well, she thought so. She did not sigh or change in stance. She simply smiled and nodded. She did not know if he was to question her or annoy her with past experiences of her father and mother's career. While her mother originally fought the case, as always, her father would merge in and together they would create such an opposition that people questioned the very things they had seen and even touched. Some question bruises still fresh on their bodies and others questioned their sanity. No one escaped from the cruel, calm, coldness of the Antoniuus'. It was from them that she gained her philosophy and cold face and heart. The message earlier included that her father was having another lawyer merge into the union, it was her uncle. The three lawyers would face the same twelve opposers but they had beaten more than that. Thakorise would have been the twenty-first lawyer in her family -both sides included- in the last sixty years and was she proud of it though still not wanting to join the legal world. "I believe my father, Mister Antoniuus, is the lawyer you speak of."

Trying not to show his fatigue, Carlos noticed the cop wasn't in exactly 'uniform'. For assurance he asked, "Aren't you that officer...umm...dangit what was his name?" He snapped his fingers while looking up trying to remember his name. Snapping his fingers louder and one last time he spoke out with a realistic excitement tone, "Oh yeah. You're that one Liam guy. The 'good' cop in the city." He knew who he was but played that of a normal citizen. "You used to put all the big crime lords behind bars," he played excited real well. "Wow, I actually get to meet you. The one guy actually protecting this place." Carlos gave a wide smile as he held out his hand to shake Liam's.

"Yes thats right Mr. Antonius, I was in an investigation against one of your father's ... more well known clients. I must say he is quite good at his job." Turning to the stranger who seemed excited to meet him, which might have happened in the past ... but no one recognized him off the bat unless they new him personally or heard his name. Shaking the strangers hand he kept a friendly grin on his face, " I'm not the only one, there are other good cops out there. I must say though, I don't know how you recognized me ... I make it a habit to to keep out of the press and not have my picture taken." Liam didn't really care what kind of shady business the stranger was in, at least not right now. Most likely a con artist of some kind, he had seen his fair share of criminals to tell the difference between one kind and another. Remebering that he did have to get home he looked back at Thakorise, " Well Miss Thakorise it was a pleasure meeting you. Remember to stay out of this side of town, even if you do have a weapon in your purse it won't mean much down here. Oh, and if you see your father tell him I'll be stopping by his office sometime." As he turned to walk away he looked over his shoulder at the strange man, " The excited fan doesn't always work, espeacially on someone like me. My advice to you would be to get out of whatever 'business' your in." With that he put his hands back into his pockets and walked resumed his walk home.

OOC-Figured out twice in one day sad . You guys are making my character look bad.
Carlos watched as Liam walked off and then hearing his closing comment slightly cringed. Damnit, am I really bad enough to be caught over and over, he thought to himself as he waited for him to get out of sight. Looking back at Thakorise, "So...what happened? And how did you meet up with him." Looking back he couldn't see Liam anymore and gave a soft sigh of relief. Finally succumbing to his fatigue he sat down on the bench next to them, actually in better words he collapsed onto the bench. Slowly pushing himself into a sitting position he looked up and said, "Just a little bit tired."

Her face hardened physically when the cop mentioned seeing her father. she would not hesitate to tell her father when she returned home. She turned to Carlos as he collapsed on the bench. She wet and sat beside him. "A couple of people decided i'd make a good whore and tried to...persuade me to become one. They thought I was just a ghetto female dressed in fake brands." She sighed as she recalled the rude, musty perpetrators. "The cop there chased them off for me. Its a good thing he came along...saved me. I shouldn't have come down here."
She looked up as this finally seemed to dawn on her. It was her love for Kali and her loyalty to those that paid her father that made her agree to come. She didn't have to, Viktor could have come, but she wanted to see Kali. Damn, she scolded herself silently, I could have been rid of the pompous a**. She then remembered the untruthful buthead beside her and looked over at him. "What are you doing here? Didn't you have to go somewhere and weren't you angry at me? Or are you leaving from here too?"

A man clad in black sat silently in a small bar, just down the street from where he usually stayed, waiting for another to show and was already half done with the beverage he had ordered. As he waited he carried on short conversations with the bar keep whom apparently thought he was waiting on some of his friends but had been ditched from how long he had been waiting.
He merely chuckled when the bar keep eventually asked whom he was waiting for and shook his head, not getting a reply the bar keep went on about his buisness, as a man appeared at the door and quickly made his way up to the man in black holding a black brief case.As the man sat down he ordered a drank and started to speak very fast in a very faint whisper Ace? Ace Jameson? he asked as he started to fiddle with the case.
Ace gave a faint nod Yes that is I... he replied with a low bass voice as he took another swig at his beverage wondering who the man wanted dead and why he wanted to meet this late in the day.As the man finally calmed himself he briskly opened the case flashing a quarter million in cash and handed him a file folder containing the person in question to be killed and why, with a note from the person making the deal.
As he took the brief case Ace looked to the man and nodded, taking the folder he stood preparing to leave, paying the bar keep he walked out the door and into the street with less than a satisfied face as he opened the folder and peered at the name for a moment. After the moment passed he closed the folder and shook his head as he read the note to himself before repeating Take out Chen, eh? Interesting target... he mused as he opened the door to an apartment building and walked in.
As he came to an elevator door he stopped looking up only for a moment to press the call button for the elevator before looking back down at the case he held A quarter now the rest when the job is done... he thought as he looked up at an empty elevator and walked in the door closing behind him.Pressing his floor number he waited as the elevator pulled upwards and soon stopped, opening its doors again so he could walk out, as he made his way down the short hall to his apartment he unlocked and opened the door entering with a somber walk he unbuttoned his shirt, revealing his revolver.
Pulling the revolver holster from his body he laid it on a small table next to a couch as he yawned and sighed opening the folder once again he peered through the profile of the man as he wondered how he would kill the man.Being slightly tired and dozing as it was he closed the folder and threw it onto the table with his gun as he stretched out on the couch with a slight sigh and yawn closing his eyes softly slowly falling into a light sleep.

[[ I will deny this but...HA!!! I told you someone was gonna want to kill Kali's father, Keyna. Someone always does. Last time, I think Shoreek wreaked havoc until you decided he tortured your poor subcharacter enough. I think we should get someone to roleplay him. Maybe Viktor, not Kali's fiancee, the real Viktor, he'd make it interesting. Anywho, up to you. >_< ]]

Liam walked at a calm pace back towards his home, however with him living in the outer areas of the city he took a bus to a nearby stop to walk the rest of the distance. He never drove his own car unless he had to and he kept his address as secretive as possible. Along with a few of the other good cops in the city he kept his personel files incrypted quite well and placed in the safe keeping of a trusted superior officer. Although the actions they took displayed to themselves pure paranoia ... they had seen enough friends experience unexpected 'accidents', or family members end up dead or worse. Walking up to his two floored, red bricked house he quickly unlocked the door and entered. Letting out a sigh of relief and anticipation to finally being able to relax, he took off his shoes, hung up his jacket and set about fixing himself a meal. Turning on his television he put it on the local news channel to see what else had happened besides the carnage he took part in later in the day. To his dismay, not much else ... Leaving the television on he went into the kitchen and set about making himself dinner. he decided on some fish he had purchased, some mashed potatoes, and a freshly tossed salad. The meal did not take him long to prepare and he sat down at the kitchen table to eat. Having heard enough of the mindless drivel of inacurate news coverage, Liam turned off his television and went to his liqour cabinet for a drink. Looking inside he decided on an already opened bottle of 18 year old scotch which he poured straight from the bottle into a glass. Sitting down he began to eat his meal as he turned on some blues music to help him relax. Still it was little comfort to the events that had happened ... another dead partner, and another day in which not a damn difference was made. After finishing his meal he turned off his music, poured himself another drink and went upstairs. the top floor of his house consisted of master bedroom, a bathroom and a guest bedroom he had converted into a small office for his paperwork and a computer containing extra information on continuing investigations. HE did not feel like doing any more work on his investigation into Mr. Chen, even he felt like it was a useless effort. Sometimes he wondered if it would be such a bad thing for him to take the law into his own hands. HE shoke such thoughts from his mind, trying to remind himself that he was a good cop. But the growing anger and hatred inside of him wanted revenge, wanted to see them all get what he thought they really deserved. Those thoughts were always short lived, a gulp of his scotch followed by some medication perscribed by doctor and the therapist he had no choice in seeing, he felt himself calm a little. With his scotch finished he sat down in his office and looked at a shhet of paper he had written on previously. It was a list of names, a long list of names ... and after tonight Liam leaned forward and added one more to the list.

Carlos sat on the bench looking at Thakorise as he took deep breaths. Finally getting his heartrate down he answered, "Hold on a second. One question at a time." Taking another deep breath and sitting straighter he continued, "I went to where I needed and did what I had to do. As for why I'm here, well..." He scratched the back of his head and slightly looked down embarassed, "I...well when I was telling my partner about your antics...as I mentioned you...I...I just had a bad feeling. Even completely tired out, I tried to get here as quickly as I could. Reason for the total collapsing that has me here," he gestures to his sitting state. Leaning forward he rests his elbows on his knees, "I just thought you may have been in trouble. Apparently I was right, too bad I didn't get here in time. I guess it was a good thing the cop showed up," he said with a sorrowful look on his face. Sighing he asked, "Would you like me to continue on with you until you find a cab?"

Thakorise listened to him speak. Her indifferent character showed itself through as an alien coldness covered her face. She shrugged her shoulders and looked down the empty street. She knew she a little while to wait and did not want to wait alone. She decided that she would never see that person again. "Stay if you will. It is your choice." She looked around to see that apart from a pari of teenagers walking, there was only a solitary man coming their way. Her gaze did not rest on him as she turned to look straight ahead. It was not that she was being cold on purpose, just that she could not possibly be any other way. For the longest time, she had been this way. Earlier, Thakorise hadn't been this way because se wasn't confined to the high classed society in which she had to remain in some ways one way. She tried to open up but now, she returned to her reclusive self. She wasn't good when it came to being social and so she said nothing, she just looked ahead of her, mind blank, eyes uninterested and sad.

Carlos just kept waiting as if she were to say something more. Noticing her just stare off and not change position he said, "Do you just expect the cab to come here? We should keep moving if we're going to find one for you." He stood up slightly and then waited for her. A cold breeze swept by blowing his short hair in his face, just then he finally took notice to hiself and his own feelings. He shivered slightly as he realized he was close to freezing, his long sleeve button shirt was fairly thin and helped none to keep him warm. He justed wanted to help her out, he had a strong feeling after tonight he wouldn't see her again. Even if she showed up around here, he and Kevin had to leave this part anyways. He looked at Thakorise and noticed how beautiful she was, not just her attractive choice of clothing, but the way her face seemed to emit even in the darkness of this city. He felt slight sorrow in never seeing her again and decided that shivering more would hide his feelings. "Are you just going to sit around?" he asked again trying to get her attention.
