Well, isn't this a nice suprise. Katerina thought as she walked around. I seem to have stumbled onto someones's home. There was some interesting stuff in the cave. For example, there were three bags of Italian coffee. Ava used to drink that stuff all the time.... Katerina left the bags be to examine the next item. A much loved Bible. Maybe whoever this belongs to wrote their name in here. Katerina hoped. There was indeed something in there. G.M. Morretti.... Those were Dad's initials! This is Dad's bible! He left it to Ava before he died, and she would never give it away. She must be near by. And so Katerina started probing the minds of anyone in the area for any mention of her older sister.

Ava was brought out of her thoughts by Ras' question. That would be nice. Ava said with a smile. Dragon boy is an okay guy, but I don't want to know what he's like drunk. Ava thought. The best kind of drunk is a sleeping drunk, and after that, I don't want to be around for the hangover. So she followed Ras to wherever she would be sleeping.

Meanwhile....
Inside the hotle the young man is walking down the halls looking for his room. As he passes people there is wispering. Finally he finds his room carefully he types in the password and enters inside. Shutting the door behind him he takes off his boots. In not a second after he colapses onto his bed. Sure enough he is asleep.

Katerina was sitting on Ava's makeshift bed, probing nearby minds for any mention of her sister. For and abandoned town, there are a lot of people. Katerina thought absentmindedly. She sat there for another ten minutes until she found what she was looking for. Bingo. Now who is this guy...... Sam? Katerina thought as she probed his mind. He seems to have seen her recently.... What the? Katerina thought in suprise. She gave him Moonshine?! Where the heck did she get that stuff? Katerina knew that Ava was good at finding things, but Moonshine? That stuff could get really expensive.... All right, back to the issue at hand. Where is Ava? Katerina continued to probe Sam's mind for about five minutes until she realized that Ava was still near him. Okay then, now lets look for someone I can't read. Ava was one of few non-telepaths that Katerina had not been able to read. The two of them had figured this out when they were kids, and Katerina wanted to know what Ava was giving her for christmas. Katerina had tried reading her mind, and did not succeed. Ava began probing in sam's general area until she found who she thought might be Ava. Now let's probe the person closest to her to get a discription. The closest person was someone named Ras.

  She didn't wake up...
Vlase turned and walked silently from the room, his boots clicking faintly against the floor. I don't want to be here, but slipping out wouldn't do anything more than raise their suspicions... And the last thing I need is a bunch of incompetents following me around because they think I am some sort of bad guy... He shook his head angrily, Nothing is ever as easy as good and bad....

Parris laughed quietly at the excitement Indigo put into his story. In spite of himself, Parris found that he was liking this other Altered boy at the top of the ladder. At least it wasn't so lonely at the top any more. "The best plan is probably just to tell him what's gonna happen, except leaving out the 'let's ditch'em' part. Even if he doesn't agree, we do it anyways."
Parris shifted slightly and felt the reassuring weight of his blade fall against his leg. He wasn't worried about taking down people with guns, never had been. And Strohm was just a human with guns. Not all that difficult, honestly.
"Well, come on. I think the old guy's waiting for us downstairs, and we shouldn't keep the elderly waiting." Parris turned from his new position a bit down the hall and waved Indigo to catch up.

Bailey had heard someone enter the room. Out of everyone she had dragged back to home base, the Vlase character had caused her to be very suspicious. He claimed to hate the Institute, but anyone could. His silence made her uneasy, and when a silent person entered the room she assumed right away that it was him. Still, she had no idea if it was or wasn't him; anyone could have made there way into the room, saw Bailey, and thinking that she was asleep, move about the room quietly and try their hardest to not make a sound.
So Bailey faked sleep. It was something she had mastered as a kid. She snuck out many times and was always back in her bed by the time anyone noticed something strange. Problem was, she couldn't force herself to fall asleep fast enough so she learned how to convince her worried parents that all was well with even breathes and an absolute sense of calmness. Chances were, whoever had entered the room could have seen past her trick, but she hung onto the hope that the mysterious person hadn't. When she heard them leaving the room, she opened her eyes slowly and carefully to see the back of Vlase, his green hair unmistakable.
After waiting only a few moments she got up from her spot, without making a sound. She left the blanket behind her slumped onto the couch. Quickly and quietly she made her way over to a drawer and searched the contents. There were a few odds and ends inside including some paper, pens and a compass. But Bailey new her home well and she pulled the items out slowly and the slab of wood they were stationed on, revealing a secret compartment and a knife. No one could be too careful in Retribution.
She took the knife and sheathed it into a holder that was at the bottom of her left foot. She was preparing to confront Vlase and ask him what he was doing in Retribution. Everyone else seemed much more innocent and he didn't seem want to share a motive, if he had one, for being here. She smoothed her pant leg over the sheath and stood up carefully. She listened a few moments and then slowly made her way over to the hallway. She turned slowly, wondering if putting the knife away had been a mistake.

Erasmus Catherwood...... No wonder she lies about her name. She's connected to the institute, and she has the fanciest aristocratic name ever. Katerina thought as she probed Ras's mind. Well that's nothing compared to me and Ava's full names. Katerina Aislinn Diana Morretti beats Erasmus Jael Catherwood by a long shot. Ava and Katerina's parents had an amazingly hard time choosing between names, so they decided to narrow it down to three for both of them, and give the two middle names. As Katerina picked through Ras's brain, she struck gold. The one who called herself Ava hadn't spoken in some time.... So she's definitly seen Ava! And she's still with her! Showing her to a room.....? Katerina thought. What the hell is this place? Katerina probed a few more minds until she found the word, "Retribution". Used as a noun. Katerina said a few uninteligible curses under her breath. I can't beliew Ava found Retribution before I did!!!!!! But just to be sure it's Ava..... Katerina browsed Ras's mind one more time for any details on Ava's personality, and she nearly burst out laughing. She hasn't spoken in some time, and she has a supposedly chatty demeanor?! Definitly Ava! Katerina knew now that Ava's personality had not changed at all from when she was ten. Last time they had seen eachother, Ava was the moodiest person Katerina had ever known. And Ava still was aparently. When they were young, Ava could go from Angry to perfectly content at the drop of a hat. Now that Katerina had verified Ava's location, she headed toward Retribution.

Without any sort of telepathic powers of her own, Ras remained blissfully unaware anyone was sorting through her thoughts. Had she been at all keen to that knowledge, she would have been in an absolute frenzy. Those were some of her deepest secerts Katerina so easily unearthed. Still, pleasently ignorant, Ras turned to no such possbility and focused on Ava. Windchime laughter breezed past her lips, "I thought so." Ras murmured quietly, coming to a halt infront of a door. She would drop Sam off further down the hallway and to the left. The occupants of the rooms changed quickly in Retribution. One could never be sure if a room that had not been full the day before, had been taken. Rapping lightly upon the door, Ras didn't wait for a response as she turned the knob and gently nudged it inward. Poking her head inside, Ras was swift to notice a girl she had never before laid eyes on. Embaressed, Ras uttered a quick apology and backed away from the room. Turning back to Ava, Ras brightly said, "Taken!" and then walked three rooms up and repeated the same process, this time no one was inside. "You can stay here if you would like." -- Indigo was an oblivious sort of chap, and had been completely ignorant Parris might not find his company favorable. Had he been able to see that he was warming up to the idea, Indigo would have been ten times more estatic. He would never say to gaining another friend or an ally-- something he had, had little of growing up. "True, true. Good. I like it." He agreed, following Parris at a steady pace down the stairs. Stifling a laugh as they came closer, Indigo whispered, "and since when have you been so concerned about the elderly?"((Edit*// I apologize, I was a bit confused about where she was. I changed the post))

((mutantkitty- Katerina hasn't even gotten to Retribution yet, so I don't know why she'd have a room there already.......)) Katerina walked toward Retribution. I should probably apologize to Ras and Sam once I meet them. Katerina thought. This wasn't the first time that she had read a person's mind without permision. Since she was such a strong telepath, she could read people's minds without trying really hard. There were even some people who made their thoughts so apparent, that they just seemed to jump from their head to hers. That's what you get for being a world class telepath Katerina thought. There were some times when she wished she wasn't a telepath. There were some minds that just shouldn't be read. Then, Katerina found an open man hole. Katerina could sense the minds of two guards at the end of the pipe below her. Well, here goes something. Katerina said, and then jumped down the man hole.

Thank you for finding me a room Ras Ava said as she entered said room. Much better than a cave if I do say so myself Ava thought. Urrgh! Ava had been developing a headache when Ras first asked her if she'd wanted a room close to dragon boy, and It steadilly got worse. Ava usually only got headaches like this if she was extremely tired, or there was some telepath trying to get into her head. Ava assumed the first, and decided rest would be an excelent idea. Noticing that Ras had left, Ava closed the door. She the reached into her coat and pulled out a bottle of water and a small bottle. Inside the bottle was asprin. Ava took two of the pills and washed them down with the water. Much better. Ava thought as the pain started to subside. Ava then proceeded to get ready for bed. She striped out of her coat, pants, and shoes. Sitting down on the bed, she tied her hair up, and proceeded with her nightly prayers, which consisted of asking God to look after her loved ones and one Hail Mary. Ava didn't seem it, but she was deeply religious. After the whole Altered thing got started, most people lost faith because they couldn't believe god would let something so horrible happen. Ava's mother, Isabeal taught her and her sister that there was a reason that god was called Father. He wanted humans to make mistakes, and hopefully learn from them. When she finished, Ava got under the blanket and slept. And as she slept, she dreamed.

Vlase heard quiet footfalls behind him. If the halls had been a little louder he would have missed them completely, and that could have been troublesome. He put his hand on the hip holster, making sure is motions were clear, and turned. To see Bailey?
"What?" He intoned quite a bit of anger and annoyance into that single word. He didn't like people and he likes talking to them even less. He was fairly certain that he could shoot her and be done, but that would be quite bad in the long run for avoiding conversation. He levelled his steely gaze at her and waited in oppressive silence for her to explain herself.
~~
"I'm not too worried about the elderly," Parris laughed, "More ourselves and what the guys upstairs'll do to us if we don't get a move on."
Within moments they were in the room that Strohm was waiting for them in. Parris suddenly slipped into the same icy demeanour he had been using when he first learned that Indigo was going to attach himself to his mission. "Strohm. We have a proposition." Parris glared at the man, "If you're not horridly opposed to not keeping an eye on us at all times, we have an idea on how to infiltrate the Rebels. But we'll need to stage a fight. With you." That last bit was articulated so there wasn't and doubt about the animosity the younger boy felt about the older man.
"Oh s**t" Parris started rather suddenly, "We need a story, Indigo. There's bound to be telepaths there some place... And if they figure us out we're toast."

Bailey's response to his snapping "what" was a long glare. She was starting to think she had made a huge mistake. He was very suspicious and it was making her uneasy about having him wandering the halls of her home. She had a job to do and that was to protect Retribution. Bringing Vlase inside was making her nervous.
"What do you want with Retribution? You don't even seem like you want to be here." She watched the hand that rested on what she assumed to be a gun, making her nerves tense even more. Had she brought a knife into a gun fight? Instead of focusing on the gun, she locked stares with him and waited for a response.

Tak didn't have a room. Heck, according to most people, Tak didn't even sleep. Even for an Altered, he was strange. He almost never spoke, and when he did, it was little more than a whisper.
So, despite being practically the middle of the night, Tak was sitting up in the little space he called his 'room'. There was a bunkbed (most people shared rooms, but so far nobody had offered to be Tak's roommate so he was alone for now) and, littered across the floor, rocks. Rocks, from pebbles to medium-sized boulders. Rocks of every shape and color -- in fact, some of them were so strangely shaped that they appeared to have been carved. One was an oddly-shaped heart, another, much more complicated, a little statue of an angle. Currently, Tak was simply throwing a relatively sized stone up and down, much like someone would bounce a ball -- without so much as moving a finger. His blank gaze followed the stone as it swirled around the room, doing cartwheels in the air. Suddenly, however, he heard a noise.
Breaking his concentration, Tak turned his head around, looking at the closed door. The boulder hit the ground with a crash that shook the entire room and probably the ones next to his, too. Oblivious to the noise, Tak stood silently, grabbing his katana and popping the door open.
Sticking his head out, Tak spotted two people standing outside in the dimly lit hallway. One was a man he didn't recognize, with odd green hair.. the other looked familiar. Bailey, he thought. The leader's daughter. What were they doing out there?

Vlase sighed deeply, he couldn't get away without talking here...
"I don't want to be here. It's really no safer than on top..." He looked at her intensely, "But I'm here because it seemed easier than walking away from you. I doubt you would have trusted that any more than what I do inside." His words were sharp, but not as nasty as his 'what', though only by a margin.
"Sorry I'm not a chatter-box like the others." He growled, "I just don't see you all needing my life's story to sleep better at night."
He pulled his hand away from his gun, noticing that in his mild anger the two substances had begun to meld together. The skin pulled away from the metal in an almost stringy way that was quite disgusting to watch, honestly.
"Is that all?"

Bailey shook her head in a "no" to his last question. She wasn't done with him, not yet anyways. Her eyes had dragged themselves off of his and watched in awe as his hand pulled away, no- his skin. Bailey gasped and then looked away, not wanting to seem frightened by the transformation that had happened. It was simple, but it scared her. This guy was clearly deadly and if he decided to attack her she would have a death match on her hands. Her combat skills and telekinesis would be her only option including the knife sheathed at her ankle. Against a man who could control metal, and a gun?
Bailey put her attention back onto Vlase, making sure her eyes didn't trail down to his hand and the gun. She had seen other manipulate metal, but never had she seen someone do this. But she had to focus on the matter at hand. She spoke, a bit louder than she had expected, "How do I know I can trust you? You're in my territory amongst my people and you could be working for the god damned Institute for all I know!"
