*Esperanza looked into the sun, then her eyes drifted downwards, where it fell apon an approaching Soquili.His mane and tail as gold as the sun itself. She stood quickly, fearing she may have stepped into anothers territory. She didnt want the juicy apples hanging from the tree, only the shade the tree could offer. She looked in anxiety as she feared this horse. She held her ground, and watched him*

Lost in his own private revelry, Tai continued along the path without a thought of his surroundings, his mind humming an ancient lullaby Celei and sung to him as a little one. Without knowing it, the tune began to resonate in his physical ears as he sang...
"Come to me children, I'll show you the way...
Into the forest, and off to play~~
See all the children, they wait for you here...
Come with me lovey, come with the deer.~"
As the song faded he opened his eyes fully, a light smile touching his equine features as he took in the sudden apearance of a lone mare. She seemed upset over something, if he were an judge, and without thinking he hastened to reassure her that he, at least, was not a cause for being upset. "G'morning m'lady! Sorry if my racket disturbed you."

Esperanza looked at him. She found him to be amusing, though she was still cautious. She walked closed the the golden maned Stallion and smiled, the smile reaching her eyes.
"No sir. I was just.. Looking for my herd. They have dissappeared. And I dont think I can ever join them again."
She said, trying to erase the worry from her voice. She sighed, looking him in the eyes. He had kind, gentle eyes. Her fear subsided slightly.

Tilting his head to the side, he resisted the urge to nuzzle her worries away, (afterall he had just met her! ) and instead flicked his long golden tail. "I'm sorry to hear that m'lady, might you have some descriptions of them? Perhaps I can help you locate them, or at least point you in the right direction?" He posed those questions carefully, willing to help, but wary of being roped into a long search.

She shook her head a little. SHe didnt want to trouble the stallion. He was nice, but she was almost certain he wouldnt want to try and help a little mare find her herd when it could be anywhere on God's green earth. She forced a smile and it didnt reach her eyes.
"No, thats alright. I dont want to bother you. I am good at that you know."

"Hmmmm...." He watched her for a moment, then a slow smile spread across his features. "Well then, if you don't want me to help you find them... how about I help turn that frown upside down? Because you know... if you can't laugh at adversity, you'll just keep getting stuck in adverse sitations!" he chimed, this time takig the initiative to reach forward and blow a ticklish breeze across her nose.

She laughed a bit. "You used alot of big words there. But, I understand what you mean." She said laughing. Not everyday she ran into a stallion that had any sense at all. They were all flashy and somewhat ill-bred.

Wait.. what defines charming these days...?
But before his mind could wander too far down that tangent, he smiled at her broadly.

She smiled back, and nodded. Nice to know he was a gentleman. She went beside him and gave him a friendly nudge. "Thanks, I appreciate your gestures." She looked at him, eyes sincere.

Esperanza smiled at the stallion. Her coat shining with the sweat of their playful game. She stretched her neck, and lowered her head, trying to decide if she should tell Tai about her crush on him. She had never really had a crush before. The stallion of her last herd had come to her, she hadnt needed to quest for one. But here was this gentle giant and the Palomino mare couldnt help herself. She had to tell him.
"Tai..I feel a very close relationship to you. I..I want you to know, that whatever I say, I dont want you to take it as scary or creepy, okay?" She gulped down a bit of the worry.
"Tai.I like you. Actually, I feel more than that towards you. You make me smile, and you were my first friend. Please..Tell me how you feel.."

Startled into silence, the golden stallion could do nothing but stare intently into his friend's eyes, searching... but what he really sought was an answer to his own feelings... and that answer was not in her eyes. No, what he saw in those reflective depths was a mirror image of his face, and the feelings she was trying to convey.
"Esper I... I'll be honest with you because you deserve it and I care too much about what we have now." he began slowly, pausing only to draw breath and strengthen his nerve.
"You ask me.. how I feel... and I will not be foolish enough to dance around the question, and I hope I understand you correctly..." he paused again, pondering his words, then continued shakily.
"I... I value you more then I do any other friend, but I don't know if I have what it takes to be what you want me to be. I know nothing of courtship, nor of herds, or of how to properly react to what you just told me. Celei raised me from colthood, but she could only teach me so much, limited as she was. Afterall, she is a human... not one of us. And I don't want to lose this friendship, since I have so few."
"So I guess.. thats my answer, as confusing as it may be to you.. it is exponentially more so to me. I just don't know how I feel, and I hope you will be patient.. and let me figure things out."

Esper's eyes somewhat glazed in unshed tears. She had expected that. Afterall, she had not given him much notice to the thought. She nodded bravely, not entirely sure what to make of his answer. Nodding continuously, she spoke, her voice as steady as she could make it. What a treacherous thing voices were. They told ever secret and every feeling.
"I understand Tai..Im sorry to have thrown it onto you like that. It was selfish of me and I should be ashamed. Im sorry." She repeated. She looked him bravely in the eyes, then looked away and 0only continued nodding as she didnt trust her voice anymore. She gave a soft, weak hearted smile, hoping to crush the hurt in her heart. She looked away again, and began to turn around.
"I'll make this easy on you Tai. I wont bother you anymore.."
She wasnt sure if thats what he wanted, but she wasnt sure if he wanted her around either after what she'd said.
(Shes not really leaving, so if you could stop her from it, I'd appreciate it.lol And cool, thanks for putting the RP thread up^^)

Berating himself a fool, Tai lept forward rashly, blocking her exit with his body.
"Esper wait! Please! You can't leave!" he started, begging with his eyes and his desperate attempt to stop her...
But he didn't know what else to say, for all that Blais and Flame said he was gifted with a silver tongue.. here and now.. when he needed those gilded words...
He had... nothing, just a pounding heart and an all too familiar pain in his soul.
"Please Esper, you can't leave me too..."

Esper looked at him, smiling just a tinge. He had stopped her, and he needed her. If all he wanted was a friend, well, by God she'd be the best friend one ever had. She looked at him, and before she spoke, she had the feeling of true love for him. Of course she'd never tell. Those words would never again leave her lips. But she knew.
"Okay Tai. I wont go anywhere."

Relief flooded his mind, and caused him to stagger a little on his hooves, but he recovered quickly and managed a smile at the palomino mare.
