Erudite settled down near Shade when he finished setting the food down. "Hey, you want somet... I didn't get plates." He sighed. "Oh well, at least there's napkins on the table, we can use them." He smiled at her and sighed. "I feel like an idiot... Ah well. But here... You want something off the platter?" He gestured at all of the food, and looked at her expectantly, clearly planning to help her out... He'd noticed the hooves and had a feeling this would be easier for her. He glanced around, curiously, for a moment. "Mmmm wonder what Shroom's getting. Eh we'll see when she returns!" He wondered if Dream Shade didn't like him, she seemed uncomfortable, in his eyes.

Loki smiles and sighs. "Well I do not know of any particular skills I have, but I suppose it could be true." The elder tilted his head, listening. "Interesting. I did not know Familiars indulged in creating... Then again I know little of them, mine tends to spend more time hovering around... I've not worked out what the ghostbag-like thing is interested in." He looked up, half frowning as he studied the odd little familiar. "Are you fond of creating art too? Or do you have other interests, hmmm?" The Familiar swooped around, and somehow, looked mysterious.

Aurianna laughed at his comment and grinned. "Oh well said, well said! I suppose I'm a walking chocolate then, but you'd think I'd be less... irritable." She couldn't believe she'd said that, but Riki seemed to be a cheerful enough sort, and he DID remind her of Acid Dusk. She pondered, then finally asked "Do you know Love-A-Lot...?"

User Image"Sometimes it just takes time, and exploration to find those skills. Everyone is good at something." Umber glanced at Sepia. "As for him, well yes, familiars are usually so spastic it's near-impossible to focus them, but after some time of very.. vivid attempts at art, I found that soft music tended to calm him down some. And I have to avoid letting him have any sugar beforehand, as well." He smiled as Loki addressed his own familiar, wondering as well what he might be into.

User ImageRiki merely smiled at the 'irritable' comment. "You're not being very irritable right now, unless chocolate tends to transform you?" He tilted his head a little, grinning. At the mention of Love-a-Lot, he paused a bit, blinking. It wasn't often Riki was taken off guard, but he rallied magnificently, replacing the startled look with a slightly wistful one, if only briefly, before ending up with his friendly smile again. "Yes, I do. We had a...rather brief fling some months back, though I still see her on occasion." He tilted his head again, curious. "Why do you ask?"

Sakura smiled at Sakit and thought her new little familiar was adorable. She looked at her own little bunny and smiled. The little bunny looked up at her worried she go for another round of cuddling. "I just call mine Fluff. She eats lots...I feed her a lot of cookies and she eats them all," she said a little to cheerfully. Fluff hopped from Sakura's paws to her back behind her head so if looked at just right it looked like Sakura had rabbit ears. "Hmm maybe you do eat for them. Do you feel hungier?" Sakura looked at Sakit's belly expecting to see some sort of change there.

Not long out of the Inbetween herself before finding herself returning already, Samantha cast her gaze over the crowd of Winis. Most had already paired up or formed their groups to chatter and snack or whatnot, so she simply slid her way gracefully into the clearing, tails swishing behind her. She could use a snack as well...maybe something with meat...

...ooo, were those some of those little sausages wrapped in biscuit dough? 'Pigs-in-a-blanket', or some such odd name; whatever they were called, they were tasty little party snacks. She might just have to help herself to one or two...or a dozen. Grinning, the multi-tailed Wini made her way over to the buffet table, squeezing between Winis along the way with a muttered apology.

Well, this was progressing less than ideally. Irritated, Calypso's tail slapped repeatedly against the shallow waves, betraying her growing frustration. No one was paying her nearly enough attention! This would not do!

To make matters worse, those two Winis nearby were talking about the beauty of the scene and capturing the view in art for future generations to enjoy and whatnot...and neither one had even glanced in her direction, let alone complimented on the way her scales sparkled in the light! How could they possibly consider themselves experts on beauty?!?

This would take drastic measures. She wouldn't just be able to lie here and let others gaze upon her loveliness...there were too many distractions, obviously. She'd have to take a more active approach. So, she stood, water dripping from her fins as she set out on the prowl, blue eyes alert for signs that anyone had met her gaze...or of any possible lone males to zone in on...

Once Kanika was balanced properly on his foot, Asgard carefully lifted her to the table. He glanced over to his companion who seemed to be talking to the youngling Kanika had spotted, but he stayed quiet, not sure what to do now. Glancing over the table full of sweets, Asgard wondered, not for the first time, what it would be like to taste, but he didn't dwell on it long - it wasn't as if he could change anything about it. Instead, he shifted his position by the table to better place his central crystal in the sunlight so it could absorb the light better.

Perhonen barely acknowledged Asgard, though he had to admit he was rather surprised the big oaf was bothering to interact with the little one after what happened with Peppercorn when she was the same size. Granted, Peppercorn was a bit of an oddball, herself - frightened of the silliest things, including the gentle giant currently sunning himself at the end of the table. Grabbing a cupcake for himself before it could be contaminated by the beaked youngling flinging crumbs everywhere, Perhonen remarked, "I prefer cookies, normally." He made short work of the cupcake, careful not to get too much icing in his fur. "They're much cleaner."

Razuku stopped mid-chew and tilted her head at the butterfly wini in puzzlement. "Clean? Food isn't supposed to be clean."

Staring at the black and white face, Perhonen's head feelers bobbing as he ate the cookie, caught Razuku's attention. Her eyes widened and she reached out icing-covered claws, "Oooh, what's that?"

Dream Shade had smelled the meat as soon Erudite had set the loaded platter down. She was confused as to why he would feel like an idiot, and was tempted to ask him, but those sausages smelled so good.

"Those pasties smell awfully good," she said, a bit hesitantly. "Uumm, whatever those sausage thingies are, I mean."

Glancing sideways at Erudite, she added, "You don't look like an idiot. Why would you feel like one?"

User Image
Shroom fluttered back to the table with the wine bottle in tow. Her wini friend and the colorful demon appeared to be sitting side by side, not talking and not eating.

She hovered over the table and gently set the basket-wrapped bottle on the table, just in time to hear Shade ask Erudite why he felt like an idiot. Shroom wondered if she got back just in time, or too late.

Gypsy perked up a little. "I like the zoo. I think they're fun. But I guess there are a lot of screaming children... Zoo's are not good for sleeping." She missed that Vienna was comparing her home to a zoo, not saying she actually lived in one. "There's lots of other demons at my home too. But I like it. It's always fun when Mama goes chasing after Johai when he tries to pick on someone. She dressed him up once like a girl as punishment for making Peri cry." She giggled a little, remembering the day.

User Image

Kodran sighed slightly, laying down near, but not too close to Armada. "I must say I'm not a fan of the sand. I don't enjoy the feel of it between my claws. I much prefer the soft grass and leaves of the forest."

User Image

Sakit had to think about that a moment. "You know, I kind of am hungry... er... hungrier that is." She glanced back at Day, who was distracted with her familiar, both of them grooming the pudding out of her fur. "Hey, Daisy liked the flowers..." Oh, her little demon brain was working. In her mind she had a full out conversation with herself about grabbing the flowers for Daisy, then going for some cake with Sakura. Maybe they had carrot cake. Bunnies liked carrot cake, right? She crouched down, and slowly stalked forward again, towards Day. Her bright orange rump in the air as she slowly crept closer to Day. She was just a claw's width away when she swiped one of the flowers she had been pelted with before, and ran back towards Sakura, giggling like a child.

"I did it I did it!" She huffed and sat down again. She looked at Daisy and grinned widely. "You liked the flower so much you came to me, right?" The familiar bobbed with a happy little squeak. "I knew it! You must like them! Here, a special treat fr you." She held the plant up to Daisy. The yellow blob ate it happily.

User Image

No longer bound to Sakit, the familiar was free to terrorize anyone it wanted to, and could never again be forced into servitude to another demon. Of course Sakit had yet to realize this.

Sagira had long been a demon of loneliness. Ever since her love had left her for someone else, she had been rather heartbroken. But she did not want to dwell on the past, no. It was summer! It was the time of love, of merriment, and of fun! She would move on to the future, and enjoy others company for once.

She settled upon the ground, her eyes watching all the beautiful, strange, and wonderful Winiko that walked around within her sight. She saw a few whom she recognized a little, but she could not be sure, and had naught the courage to be certain by walking up to them. Instead, she resigned herself to watching, and learning.

Unlike the others at this gala, Haiku had noticed Calypso. How could one not? She stood out like a beacon to him. He was a little biased towards aquatic Winiko, however. But Haiku was not a very forward Koi. He preferred to keep to himself, composing his prose and spending much of his time in his pool at home. Being submerged helped him think. So it was, that he blended in so well with the Red Sea of the InBetween, that even though he was paying quite a bit of attention to Calypso, she would not likely have noticed him. He was steeling himself to be brave, to go speak to her, when he noticed her start to leave. It was now or never. He tentatively left the security of the water, and made his way toward her, for better or worse, rehearsing what he might say.

User ImageAlgae roared and dug his claws into the wet earth. He had misheard the invitation to the summer shindig. He thought it was an invitation to a RAID. Where they could hunt big game... like humans. It couldn't be helped. He was eavesdropping after all. That didn't mean he didn't wish the other demons wouldn't drown. Too noisy. Covering his eyes from the harmful glare of light with his fin tail, he surveyed the area. A bunch of carefree ******** this lot!

User ImageKayin chuckled at the conversation and the comments about their bond mates. Knowing all too well of Vienna's house of demons, plus his main hangout being a warehouse haven for them, he could commiserate. He had pretty much seen just about every summoned demon at one point or another even just in passing, though he was much too lazy to really remember many of them.
"I actually am lucky enough to just have the runt, and the drama queen who is surprisingly absent tonight." He commented, then tossed another bit of food in his mouth.
"She's pouting." The big male stated between chews, and glanced around at the mingling crowd. He would never admit it of course, but he was keeping a casual eye on Kanika. She hadn't been in the Inbetween since she had likely been born in it. His eyes caught briefly on a pale female with an amazing amount of tails, before moving on to spot their offspring pestering a glowing elder and one with amazing wings. They sure were an exotic bunch when you got several demons together!

Kanika surveyed the situation at paw, and all the sweets arrayed on the table before her. Asgard's paw held her right at the perfect level. But the other little demon that had caught her interest seemed to be making short work of the noms and spilling crumbs all over what was left. And she and the big butterfly elder had ignored her greeting! This was a strange new thing for the perma child, everyone always loved her! She always had attention everywhere she went! Uncertain, she pulled a cupcake over to the edge of the table and nibbled at the frosting. Her excitement at seeing someone her size faded a bit as the other child pestered the elder butterfly. She turned to look at Asgard, and made a little squeal.
"Asgar your so pretty!" She said excitedly, admiring the sparkling crystal and the rainbows of reflected lights on the grass and table around them. The cupcake forgotten, she leaped back down off his paw and pranced in the grass next to the robotic demon, pouncing after the lights playfully.
"You're like the sparkle ball of the party!" She giggled.

(( okay one I love that new item, two Fluo you're ******** funny. xD ))

"Lucky is right," she snorted, laughing, "I remember when the house was quieter, it was nice. We've about doubled in side since then." She rolled her eyes. "I wonder how she does it sometimes. She must secretly be in the drug trade or something, I swear. Every night she cooks for pretty much all of us, I don't know how she affords it." She shook her head. "All she does is sit around and read. Eghhhhhh.."

Her eyes scanned the party again, spotting newcomers and seeking out her littlest daughter. She sighted her still harassing the elder and grinned broadly. What a good little girl.

"The sand is the way to go," Armada replied flatly, "Even if it does get caught in my wings and is a mess to get out of my mane..." As if to emphasize her point she shook the long black hair from her eyes. "Grass brings bugs and worms, and I'm really just not fond of them at all." She wrinkled her nose at the thought.
