"I do" she exclaimed happily, she loved that he was interested in first editions, and not just new books. "They are in the old dinning room, seemed the safest place for them, with the curio cabinets and all." Having the glass doors allowed her to see her books while protecting them too. "I even have an advance reading copy of Mark Twain's 'Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc'." She smiled most proud of that find.

"It will be fine, I swear" he said to her, there was a slump with his work right now, he had a few clients but nothing like he got in the on season so if he could get this into his folio then it would be good advertising for him as well "he may just need to take a few pictures of the finished product if thats alright, just for his folio, may get himself more business" he said as he listened to her about the books "he may wish to borrow them most of all, he likes fifth editions of the books and what not but nothing, to him, beats first editions" he said as he started to leave the house.

"Of course" she smiled, who was she to say no to some photos if the human was going to fix her place? Borrowing some of her first editions was a more frightening concept "You swear he will treat them with the utmost care and respect?" Her concern evident in her voice, it might be a deal breaker if he doesn't. She worried too about if Onyx said the human would and all the work got done and the human borrowed the books and didn't treat them right. She looked to where her books would be if she could see them through the walls, it made her anxious to think about.

"Great and yes, I swear on my life, he will treat them as if they were his own children, hell, I will be amazed he doesn't bring plastic sealable bags for each one, I promise, not one single book will be marked, or further marked if the case may be, tarnished, touched, other then being placed into boxes while the work is going on or anything else unless it is with your say so and given the fact this is Vincent, he may just want to do all the packing up of the books himself, just so he can look through them whilst he does the packing." He said as he was pleased to start going down the path this time without needing to worry about the books "his first job straight out of high school was working in a library so he does know how to take care of books, he never lasted long there before he decided he would like to follow his first passion which was art, interior design just came from that, so you don't need to worry, your books will be kept perfect" he said, smiling at her, he understood they were special to her but if she wanted to live in a house where rain won't be coming in anymore she was going to have to trust a little that her books will stay as they are even when handled by a human.

"Alright" she gulped still nervous but willing to trust him. "I have a book of medieval tortures if your wrong" she tried to joke to lighten her concerns, his words were reassuring but finding someone who respected them as much as she did was incredibly rare. "Let's go meet him." She'd be able to get a better feeling for him at least. This was all seeming too good to be true. She delt in facts her ability with others was really rather limited she would need to quantify a few things about all this, meeting him would give her more facts.

"Thank you trusting me" Onyx said as he nodded "yes, lets" he said as he started to run straight down the path, jumping every now and again to miss the rocks and what not that were in his way "and medieval tortures you say" he said grinning a little "I always wanted to know how some of those worked" he said jokingly, yes he was interested in such things but seeing them first hand....yeah, maybe he wasn't THAT into them, not that he believed her but still, in general, he wasn't fond of seeing them used at all.

She giggled, she liked him. Following him she asked "Does he live by the ocean too?" She wondered how hard of a job for a human it would be to fix her place, for a kitsu it was exceedingly hard, would it be that much easier for a human? And distance would play into difficulty, plus the climb, was he in good shape? She needed more facts, facts were good, facts were useful.
((So are Onyx and Makoto going to run into Gersif and Odessa seeing as that was where Vincent was last spotted xd ))

((Nah, not now since it is the next day, I will have Vincent be at home, his job of filling in for the dragon finished when Odessa ended up falling asleep. XD))
"Nope, outskirts, he lives in an old beautiful two story victorian house, he prefers his own company or that of Lenore more then anyone else...well, person that is, Kitsusagi he could live with them all the time but then we are not human, apparently human and Kitsu differ so much then just one having fur and the other having skin and how many legs we walk on, Lenore just thinks the same as him which is why those two get on so well" he said as he was glad they were nearly at the bottom of the path, he could finally walk...true he could of walked before but meh, it was a downward hill, running is so much more fun.

"Are the mates?" It was sorta an odd question... ok rude really but she didn't know that. She didn't have the social grace of a pig in it's sty, so knowing an inappropriate question from an acceptable one was not something she could discern. It simply seemed like a logical assumption that two opposite gendered creatures of the same species who kept company with each other despite seclusion from all others of their kind would be mates. Seemed illogical for it to be otherwise.

"No, they arn't, at least not yet anyway, Vincent and Lenore seem smitten with each other but you know men, forever to make a move and when they do the woman usually either says yes or plays hard to get, both sexes seem to be as bad as each other so hopefully it won't take them too long" he said, thinking about grabbing a drink from the lake after they got back to the main part of the valley.

She didn't know men, not even remotely, but she nodded as though she knew exactly what he was talking about. It seemed strange to her that if they both wanted to why would they play games and tiptoe around it? Kids was a different story, she could understand avoiding that, they tended to be sticky or muddy, or something just as destructive, and they never listened, touching everything they wanted, ruining everything they came across, they were natural disasters and she couldn't understand why anyone would want them... the act of making them on the other hand... well she hadn't experienced it first hand, but the books she'd read on the subject...oh the books she read were wonderful
((I wonder if she has a secret stash of romance novels she reads as 'instruction manuals' xd ))

As they neared the lake he gestured over to it "care to get a drink before we carry on?" He asked, making his way towards the lake "it isn't too far from here but still, a break for a few minutes won't hurt" he said, deciding it may be good to just stop for a few moments and just talk, hadn't really done a lot of that without books involved.
((LOL you know, i could actually see her doing that, silly girl, we all know those Mills and Boon books should not be a great source when it comes to matters of the heart, someone needs to tell her that or at least get her to read something less fiction...like maybe Cosmo? XD))

She didn't realize until he mentioned drinking that she was in fact parched. The salty fish and the walk had dried out her mouth and water seemed like the most wonderful thing right now. "I think that is a splendid idea." She smiled, happy to trot over to the lake for a drink. Once they reached the water... well she wasn't exactly lady like in her drinking. When she was sated her muzzle was dripping wet, she wiped what she could off on her arm so she wasn't dripping everywhere but she didn't give off the most civilized of airs. She smiled oblivious to the fact that being a soggy mess might not be the best of turn ons.

As they reached the water Onyx took a drink from the water, quenching his thirst he was glad to finally have something to drink, after a while he sat down and looked at her "so, anything else you into besides books?" He asked curiously, surely she had other interests.

She shrugged, "I love learning, books give me that, any knowledge I can gain makes me happy, and if others allow me to share that knowledge with them, if they allow me to teach them, then I can ask for nothing better." It was spoken rather mater-of-factly, but there was a shine in her eyes when she spoke. She loved learning and found teaching even more satisfying. "There is nothing greater or more powerful in the world than knowledge, without it how could we ever decide anything?" It wasn't really an answer to his question but it was all she could offer. Ever since she was little she was more interested in books than play. They were almost magical.
