Marlon blinked in complete surprise at Jeremiah's suggestion. He was completely certain that his friend had gotten the joke, and yet...... Still, a picture wouldn't be so bad. He imagined stowing it away somewhere, where Herick would never see it and sneer at his disappointing son; of course he WOULD take it entirely the wrong way regardless. If only his mother was just as good at seeing all of the verbal jabs he took at her son the way she noticed whenever he did something that even smelled a whiff of bully! It didn't seem right that he was always seen like that and yet looking at his life, he was the least bully-ish one in it.
He shrugged and smiled an easy smile, one that actually felt more right than forced. "Nah, I wouldn't mind. It would be nice to have a reminder if tonight ends up being nice and.....uneventful."
Jayke smiled and shook his head as Crysta would name an even sillier place for him to transform into.....he didn't even know what. At a party like this with chaperons lurking around every corner, under the Christmas tree would more than likely be the favorite place for teenagers who wanted to sneak a little kiss; other than a forced one under mistletoe. Why, he couldn't help but wonder, do they make strangers kiss and expect everyone else to leave each other alone?
"Well...." He grasped for a way to explain the feeling he had had when he raised his arm. "I know SOMETHING inside me wants to get out; I felt it when I was showing you the bracelet." Carefully, he brought his arm out in front of his body to look at the bracelet, being careful to lift it as little as possible. He wondered if the real magic had been humming in those unadorned clay animal symbols, or if they had merely awakened a slumbering entity that had been inside of him this whole time. "Still, I'd much rather it be somewhere where we WOULDN'T get wither tossed out on our ears or taken away to be poked at." Surely his friend could see that even though they both wanted to unleash the power just bestowed upon him, to do so here would be just plain foolish? He turned and smiled at Crysta, even venturing a mock-pout. "Besides, you got to show me when we were alone; shouldn't I be allowed to do the same?"

The chaperone Nathan spoke to only shrugged. "There are lots of pretty blonds here. Maybe try the line for santa?" It was the best he could do.
Nari couldn't help but roll her eyes at Nathan as he stalked off. "You're probably right, Nico." She side before wiping her eyes a little. "Stupid boy." She shook her head. "Hey, we shouldn't keep standing under the mistletoe or else that big guy might come back and expect us to kiss again." She looked around. "You don't really want to go, do you? Nathan's off looking for Helena... We could just vanish into the crowd for a while. Still have some fun. I'm already in hot water with Nathan," Or maybe he was in hot water with her."so why don't we at least make the evening end on a high note? There are more pictures to take, and we might be able to sneak into buffet hall for some goodies. Maybe we can even dance a little." She'd make it work somehow. "I wanted us to have fun tonight." If Nico would let her, she would take him to the buffet right now.
Indy blinked in surprise when Naois held the chocolate confection. Truffles were a kind of mushroom, yes. But this? She leaned in and bit the treat, stealing it from him. She grinned, the chocolate between her teeth before closing her mouth and eating it. "Mmm, nope. No mushroom there." He'd have to try harder to find one, she was sure.
When Miles admitted to being mortified, Chisato couldn't stop the faint smile that spread over her lips. "I'm jealous, Miles. This is our date and you go stand under the mistletoe with someone else." She put on a fake pout. "And you left me standing in a crowd." So what if she had... tripped and pushed him. Didn't matter. He should have pulled her under the mistletoe or something.
Wait, maybe not.
Jin laughed some. The sweets were indeed still here. "I'm glad you didn't eat them all while I was away, Evan." He teased as the blond began gnawing on a cookie. "You got a little something-" But Jin wouldn't be able to finish his sentence as a busty blond suddenly seated herself between himself and his date.

"Well boys, isn't this a fun party?" Aphrodite said as she sat between Evan and Jinju on the faux hearth. "You two must have gotten the best seat in the room." She nodded. Yep. She could feel the energy right here. Magic time.
"Who are you?" The darker boy asked. Aphrodite frowned.
"I might be the villain of the story." She replied with a laugh, but Jin didn't get it. He glanced at Evan with a shrug, wondering if his date knew this woman. Women really were weird. Jin wanted to grab Evan's hand and leave. Right now. "Do be cheerful, boys." Hmmm... one or both? They both had potential... Ah, what's wrong with 2 birds with one stone? "I have some Christmas presents for good little children like yourselves."

Crysta paused in her steps when Jayke would lift his arm. The movement of the small clay figures dangling from the bracelet kept her attention. A magical bracelet...Crysta was very happy with her wand, but that did not stop her from looking upon the bracelet admiringly. "I know that feeling." She spoke in a suddenly hushed voice. As if her excited high had just come crashing down to a more controlled low. Her smile did not dim however, nor the light in her eyes. Crysta restrained herself from reaching out and trying to touch the bracelet. "When I was given my wand, I felt this energy just flowing into me. It was welling up, waiting to burst free though. Oh Jayke....when you transform, I swear. It will feel as if nothing else could ever feel more right!" Crysta's hands reached out, seeking to grasp her friends hands. The whole of the room was nothing more then a backdrop to her right now, with her and Jayke being the center of the world. "It's like all the questions you could ever have about yourself are answered. Who you truly are is brought forth. Your very soul is reflected in your change. I have never felt stronger then I have when I'm changed. I feel like I've burst through a dream. No one can touch me when I'm in my magic form. I am beyond all the constraints of society. I have taken control. It's like...kissing destiny." Her face was flush with heat as she spoke with a passion she had only discovered since meeting Aphrodite. "So I'm sorry if I am in such a rush to see you change. I just...I know this will bring you some peace...some happiness that will help cure you of the anger I know you feel in your heart."
Nathan merely nodded at the chaperons suggestion and moved his way along towards the line leading to Santa. His silver eyes swept through the crowd, looking for a blond head that would lead him to his date.
Nicohlas did not care in the least to see Nari tearing up. He looked helplessly out the way his brother had gone, then shook his head a little bit. "You are right...let's move then. I would like to enjoy the party while I can. I am not sure if I could tell Nathan no if he decided to leave right now. Yet if he can't find me right away then I don't have to worry about that, right?" It was wrong of him to think in such an underhanded way but honestly...he wanted to at least have a good time on his date! "Dancing with you would be fun but..how?" He asked as he moved to follow Nari through the crowd.
Naois gave Indigo a happy laugh when she bit the chocolate right out from between his fingers. "Wow! Am I glad I didn't have any time for the chocolate to melt on my fingers! I need them for rolling dice." He teased before reaching down to pluck one more from the tray for himself. "Hmm. Someone must share your view of mushrooms as I don't see any here. You are safe to partake my Lady!" Naois made a small 'help yourself' gesture with his hand.

The pendant around her neck kept drawing her attention... which was a good thing in a way. She didn't want to keep looking at the happy couples chatting away all around her but she couldn't help herself. She felt so miserable, maybe she should just leave. But that would be rude... of course, not as rude as Nathan had been to her and probably to his little brother as his date as well. She just didn't understand how he could go and do something like that... making a fool out of himself and her too in the process. She felt as if everyone was looking at her... as if they somehow knew she'd been dumped and no matter how hard she tried to pretend that everything was okay, it just wasn't and she may as well not try to fool herself anymore. Stuffing another chocolate into her mouth from the buffet she noticed the couple down the line, near to her, the girl eating a truffle right out of the boy's fingers and sighed a little... Her attention taken from that by the pendant around her neck again... It felt a bit strange... and something she just couldn't explain... an energy of some kind? Oh it was just in her head she knew but she couldn't quite ignore the mystical way it felt the longer she wore it.... It wasn't a bad feeling... almost as if it belonged and yet alien because she'd never felt anything like it before.... another chocolate, this one she nibbled on... turning towards the crowd again. She wasn't expecting to see Nathan coming for her, surely he'd forgotten all about her and well, maybe he'd gone and taken Nico home with him. Oh that would be the most humiliating thing! She felt tears begin to sting at her eyes again... thoughts of going out on the dance floor dismissed, what if they played a slow song and she was left out there in the middle of a bunch of couples dancing, looking like the biggest loser in the world. She was just going to stay here and stuff her face until she didn't feel so horrible anymore.

"Did you really think I'd eat everything while you were gone?" The blond gave a wide, cheerful smile as he finished his cookie. He was caught off guard by the female who plopped herself down in between the him and his date. This lady was already coming off as rude. Maybe even a bit strange.
"Villain?" Evan returned Jinju's shrug with a confused quirk of his brow. It didn't look like Jinju knew the woman, so was she some form of... Entertainment? He smirked at the mention of gifts. It would seem that she was! Who else would hand out free gifts at a wonderful ball like this? "I think we've both been pretty good." He nodded to Jinju. "Don't you think so?"

"Ugh." Percival found himself wrinkling his nose. "I think it would smell and taste terrible. Bottled testosterone does not seem like a good seller." He could not help but smile as he spoke. It was a ludicrous idea wasn't it? But ever so amusing at the same time. Percival gently swung Mai about as the music shifted to something a bit more..slow? Glancing about, he nodded his head towards the buffet table. "Shall we get a drink?" He asked, then smiled brightly. It was nice to hear her opinion of lemonade.
"Isn't it a nice drink though? I absolutely love lemonade myself. I am in fact researching the perfect recipe for it. Though I'm not too interested in selling it off." His head gave a very small nod as he closed his eyes for that brief moment. "I am going to make it my legacy you see. A family recipe that will only be passed down along my family line. It will be the thing that people perk up about when invited to bar-b-ques and parties at my family residence." Percival's eyes opened with a faint light glimmering behind them. 'What do I think of Punch? Honestly I think it's sort of the 'left overs' version of drinks. There are too many fruit juices poured together. They all crowd each other out. It's like mixing paint. If you mix too many colors all you end up with is black." Which was to say, he supposed, that he didn't much care for punch. It only occurred to him after answering that Mai had been making a joke. He looked down to his arm and found himself blushing slightly. Gah! He was being too serious! Clearing his throat, he lifted his hand and pointed off to the tables again. "I feel like some chocolate. How about you?"

Aphrodite grinned at the blond boy beside her. "You do hm?" She fished around in the folds of her pink outfit before holding her hands out towards Evan. Her hands were closed, as if hiding something in her palms. "Since you're a good boy, pick a hand."

Nari smiled that Nico agreed they should move. "Maybe we should hit up the buffet first, hm?" Nari was pretty effective in getting people to move aside so she and Nico could come through, without calling attention to Nico's chair. "I donno how we'd dance. But I'm sure we can do it. Cause we're amazing and smart. So it shouldn't be a problem when we get on the dance floor. But... I really want some chocolate." Oh dear, she was after the comfort food.
"Seems they have taste here." Indigo teased Naois. "Hey, do you have a favorite treat? I see gingerbread, and chocolate cookies... and fudge too!" Even though she worked in a bakery, and was around sweets all the time, she was still like a kid in a candy store.
Jinju was about to protest that this lady was in the way, and frankly a bit of a bother to him and his date. But Evan seemed delighted. And now the woman was offering presents. Well, Evan deserved something nice. So he sat back and smiled, though his eyes were trained on the woman's hands. He couldn't help but feel intrigued and compelled by the item, or items she was concealing in her hands.

[Mistress Morbid] ((Sorry it took so long to respond.)) " Nope." Caleb responded, grinning brightly. " You'd have to run into me harder than that." Well, perhaps it was his lucky day after all, and he motioned towards the doors. " May I escort you in?" He was hoping that she'd agree, and his hand reached up to play with his necklace. He was nervous for some weird reason, and he took a deep breathe. He barely knew the girl, and there was no reason why he should be nervous. He was a wolf, an Alpha, and this would all work out.

Jayke was glad Crysta understood. He looked at his friend as she looked at his new bracelet, seeming entranced by it. He always knew that she had an extraordinary gift for perception, even before this strange woman had found her and given her the means to turn into a butterfly. Could she actually see the magic inside of the item, or the magic within him that the bracelet had caused to stir? Her staring at it reminded him of a moth wanting to reach out and touch a candle flame with it's dusty wings. Goodness knows he felt that level of unease at the thought of rashly changing.
"Well...." he started, then paused, taken aback by how fervently Crysta had described the transformation. "I still really want to; I mean I have a feeling that the more I try to keep it inside, the more it's going to want to get out, and the bigger the commotion when it finally does." He smiled a little and offered her his hand, letting the adorned hand fall down to his side. "Tell you what; Deston and Lillian don't have any problem with me bringing my date home; we can always go to my house afterwards and then I can give it a go. Besides....." He looked around at all of the lights, his ears taking in all of the noise. "One thing I already feel is that whatever this is, it would very much rather emerge out of doors."

"Thats good. Im glad I didn't hurt you then." She said smiling a bit. "...Im usually not that clumsy.."Rachel blinked at the question. She had to admit, she was slightly surprised he asked. "..Yeah. That would be nice." The brunette watched as he played with his necklace, her own hand immediately going for her throat to find the gold chain hidden under the fabric of her dress. She was trying hard not to let any of her nervousness show. She was confident darn it!

Oh, don't make me choose! Evan looked over the woman's hands trying to decide. It seemed to take forever for him, but it was more like a few moments. "How about the right hand!" He looked up at the cheery woman hopefully as if trying to gain approval. He looked over to Jinju with a smile. He would probably be handed the gift the blond boy hadn't picked. It made him wonder what could be in her hands.
Mai was delighted at how the dancing was going. It was amazing that she wasn't tripping up or stepping on his feet. She even gigged as Percival guided her around the dance floor. She noticed the music starting to sow down. "A drink would be nice." She nodded, making her way off of the dance floor.
Mai listened as Percival went on about lemonade. What a charming little dream he had. And he didn't even what to sell, that was the icing on the cake. She couldn't help but think that was a little .... Cute. But she wouldn't say that out loud. She gave a curt laugh on his thoughts about punch. "Now I know what not to serve you at parties." There was no doubt that he was very entertaining. "I'd love some chocolate. I bet that, and the other treats they have will calm my sweet tooth."

Amazing and smart? Nari was being terribly nice to say that. Nicohlas merely smiled at her as he followed her through the crush of people and towards the table. "Chocolate honestly sounds like a great idea." Nicohlas piped up as he found maneuvering through the crowd to be rather easy so long as he stayed alongside Nari. As they approached the table, he marveled with childish delight at the abundance of snacks and sugar and... sugar! His eyes widened happily. Oh! He never would have been able to eat This kind of stuff at home! Nicohlas rolled up to the table and found the assortment choices to be, for lack of a better word. Intimidating. What did he try first? This was a once in a lifetime opportunity! No one was here to tell him he was eating too much sugar! Nicohlas started to reach his hand towards some chocolate covered cookies, then paused as he spied Helena decimating the chocolates in front of her. He shifted his hand instead and waved to get her attention. "H-hey! Helena! Come stand with Nari and me!" He called to her. He glanced at Nari and tried to whisper up to her. "She looks so sad. Can she hang with us for a bit?"
Naois felt a strange sensation of relaxation and uplifting joy right now. As Indigo would tease him, he would respond with a light laugh. His eyes swept over the table while he considered her question. "Well...I happen to like those cadbury cream eggs. Though I doubt they have those here." He quickly added with a grin. Naois casually reached over to pick up a gingerbread cookie in the shape of a christmas tree. Nipping the tip off he wagged the cookie at Indigo. "So do you want to try dancing a little bit?" He offered her with a small smile. "Burn off a bit of this sugar maybe?"
Crysta felt a good deal of joy for her friend. It was just so hard to keep herself from pulling her wand from her pocket and transforming right now! What was keeping her from going that far now though? Well... clearly it was Jaykes common sense. She tried very hard to keep from feeling disappointment that she could not see what sort of magical warrior he was going to turn into. Later though...Jayke was promising her later. She reached out to take his offered one and gently squeezed it. "I think I'd like that a lot Jayke. I like your home a lot, it has a very wholesome feel to it. Like it's one of the most in tune places to nature in the city...well other then the park! Okay then..I will wait. We'll have fun here at the party and later we'll have magical fun!" Crysta shifted her hand in an attempt to wrap her arm around Jaykes own in a happy hug. " We'll be partners. Right Jayke? We'll be a team and stuff? And we'll protect the innocent people and the good spirits?" She asked, seeking affirmation before attempting to turn her attention back to the party.
Percival led Mai over to the table where the drinks were laid out. He looked over the punch and some of the other drinks. Percy reached for a cup and the spoon in the punch bowl so he could scoop out some of the drink. Despite his complaint about punch, it would not stop him from offering the drink to his date at least. After filling one cup he offered it to Mai, as was a gentleman's gesture. "Oh? So are you planning on using me to get into other parties now?" He could not help but tease her after her comment. "I'll have to forewarn you, I can't open the way all the time. I'm not that important or popular I'm afraid. My good looks only go so far!" Though Percival would be quick to admit to himself that he had used her as much as he teased her about using him. She was a nice girl, and he was grateful for this opportunity to meet someone who was pretty and had a good sense of humor. He waited for Mai to take the drink before helping himself to some ginger ale from a pre-poured cup. "Chocolate ho then!" He piped up with a small wave to the dessert table. "If there is one thing I miss most about being away from home...it's moms home made chocolate cake. Maybe the cake here will taste good enough to remind me of home?"
She was lost...maybe she had gone home? Nathan felt..snubbed. Wow... He stopped his search for Helena and stood alone for a few moments. Nathan's silver eyes swept back and forth through the crowd. He could see couples dancing in the crowd. Couples laughing and giggling as they were caught under the mistletoe. Couples kissing...Nathan felt a pang of anger. He could have been doing that. He could have walked Helena under some mistletoe and had a perfect excuse to kiss her. It would have been one of those 'memorable' moments that girls all dream of. Then he could have swept her off to some corner to continue follow up kissing. Nathan fisted a hand and pressed it to his forehead. He should have left Nicohlas home. He just could not keep his head when his little brother was around. He slowly lowered his hand from his forehead. No..that was not right. Just recalling the look of happiness on his brothers face made his chest hurt. His face had lit up. His eyes were bright. His smile was so...so honest. It was beyond selfish of him to wish he had left his brother home. Nathan found himself leaning back against a wall with his gaze dropping to his toes. He still wanted to take Nicohlas home. Why though? What was he afraid of happening? He knew that was exactly what it was. He was afraid.... afraid his brother was going to...what? Get a crush on a girl? Oh no. That wasn't likely to happen. Afraid he would have too much fun? No...he wanted Nicohlas to have fun. With a small groan he closed his eyes and thumped his head on the wall behind him.

Miah was excited to get a keep sake from his first ever date but he tried not to show it. With a grin he gestured toward Santa and said, "I'll meet you over there in a minute. There's something I want to do first."
Jeremiah wasn't vain enough to go nuts when he dressed up, but he wanted to look his best so he set off for the bathroom to check his appearance. After straightening his hair self consciously, he wondered if he'd see Indigo before too long. She'd said she'd dance with him and he wanted to wow her with his appearance.
After making sure that his hair wasn't sticking up any worse than normal, he left the bathroom and tried to start making his way over to Santa. Too bad the dance floor was so crowded! Miah tried to look for Marlon but he'd lost sight of him a while ago.
