Alex took a moment more to catch her breath. She took in what May was telling her. She hadn't found something? Well that wouldn't do. Alex wasn't about to eat and have May have nothing. "That's alright we will find you something. Was whatever you heard in the tree not there or something?" she asked.

May shook her head and gave Alex a smile. “Well I was going to get some eggs out of the nest, but well. I couldn’t bring myself to hurt little unborn baby birds.” She shrugged downplaying the dilemma she had been arguing with herself over. “I’ll be fine. Sorry I couldn’t get something to add to your meal.” Her ears flipped back and she was glad that at least Alex had found something to eat.

Alex frowned at the information and mumbled aloud what she was thinking. "Well that's no good we will have to get you something. Can't let you starve or watch me eat that would be rude. Come on than what would you like?" Alex asked before picking up her kill and looking at the other fox expectingly.

“No no it’s ok. I’m fine.” May raised a paw and waved it dismissing her own hunger. “I couldn’t bring myself to hurt the little unborn birds and I couldn’t catch a parent so I’m clearly not that hungry. “I mean if I was starving I would eat the eggs. I don’t really like them all that much but they are food, and I can’t think of anything that I want.” She didn’t mention that the thought of any critter being harmed made her queasy.

Alex's borrows knitted together as she listened to what May was saying. She could have sworn she said she was hungry just a little bit ago.... something must have caused her to be unable to get the eggs and she was embarrassed. So Alex decided not to press but decided she was going to share her rabbit with her. She put half of it on the ground and pushed her paw down on it and pulled at the other half with her powerful jaws until one half tore free of the other. "There," She said in a satisfied voice before handing half of the rabbit over than began to eat her own. It was a nice way to end the afternoon. A nice rabbit lunch and in nice company.
