Startled but growling, Mort lifted a fist
In hopes of striking back at this mischievous twist
With a metallic crack the thing flew back
But its bite had been felt. Unholy Jack.

His attacks were ridiculous, and Marosa had to laugh, Unable to do anything - he felt less than half Of what he was formerly, he thought himself a fighter, If he didn't end this soon, it would end up an all-nighter. It was no use, he couldn't land a hit Instead, the book beat him to the ends of his wit He was done for, unless another took his place He'd wait with baited breath, feeling as fragile as lace. The battle appeared over, and it seemed they had won,
But the elf was not through with its Holiday fun.
Thackery watched it retreat to hide under the bed,
Sweet thoughts of himself dancing through his head.
The elf's shouting seemed somewhat suspicious
(His sheer existence against everyone's wishes);
Then out of thin air, more creatures appeared -
No, wait! The lost items! Worse than anyone feared!
He approached the rogue book, a flash in his eye.
Books were for reading. This thing had to die.
