Julius smiled warmly at the boy, a slightly sad smile really. "Oh Turq. If you make a mess then we laugh and clean it up, okay?" he replied. "Messiness is fine. The best fun always involves at least a little mess." He set the tray down and settled down beside him. He poured two cups of tea.

Hiroki "Turq" Allans Turq blinked in surprise. It was okay to make a mess here as long as they cleaned it up? It was so different from the warehouse. If anyone made a mess, they were scolded. Sometimes belted, if it was a tantrum. "Okay....I-I'm sorry. I probably sound pathetic to you, worrying about everything." Turq picked up his tea and sipped it. He didn't want to be pathetic to anyone, especially to Julius, who was taking such good care of him.Puppy Peter How are you enjoying the site so far? ^^

CLCyrus I'm enjoying a lot thank you Julius shook his head. " You are not pathetic, Turq!" he told the young man. "You're just lacking in self-confidence, which is not in the least surprising. You're what's known as institutionalised. I was the same when I first came out of care. It was a long rocky road to get to where I am now, who I am now. Just try not to stress about things okay?"

Hiroki "Turq" Allans Turq looked down when Julius spoke. He didn't think he was pathetic? Wasn't lacking in self-confidence the same as being pathetic? At least, in some cases? "Okay. Thank you....And, I'm glad you don't think I'm pathetic." Turq set his tea down and started eating the pancakes Julius made. They were great~! Just like the stew was the night before. "You're a really a good chef, Julius~! I hope I can cook like you someday."

Julius sipped his tea and then started on his pancakes. "I'm very glad you like my cooking" he replied. "I did a cookery course some time ago, knowing I'd have to fend for myself as it were. I'll teach you." He paused to eat a couple of mouthfuls before speaking again. "Don't forget we're having a picnic lunch in the garden this afternoon. This morning though I though we'd do some Online research, see if we can't start tracking down your family."

Hiroki "Turq" Allans Turq beamed. He couldn't wait to learn how to cook. Maybe he could make something for Julius when he felt confident enough. Hearing their plans, he looked at his food doubtfully. How were they going to find anything about them? Turq didn't know his name, his family. The only thing he knew was that he had a dog and his memory went missing when he was seven. Wasn't much to go on. "I wonder why no one ever found us."

"Well it sounds as though it was a highly-organised, professional venture and I suppose they covered their tracks very well" Julius replied. Of course, there was always the possibility that no one was looking, but he didn't like to voice that suggestion in case it upset Turq unnecessarily. "We'll find out who you are somehow, don't worry. We can guess that you were taken from your family when you were seven. So I'll look at missing persons files for children about that age from around that time. I'll narrow it down and you can read the files, look at photos, and see if anything jogs your memory. How does that sound?"

Hiroki "Turq" Allans Turq sipped his tea again. They were pretty serious and organized. If that was why they were never found out, it made sense. "I like that plan. I hope it works." He ate his pancakes again, suddenly smiling. He was really happy Julius wanted to help him find his family, even though he was worried Turq would leave. But, he wouldn't. "Don't forget the dog. I had a dog, remember? That should help, right?"

Julius smiled at Turq and stroked his hair. "Don't worry, sweetie, I won't forget about the dog. Yes, it does help. Hopefully the missing persons files will include family photos with pets in and you can see if you recognise a dog. Do you know what it looked like? When you close your eyes and think, do you see it? If so we could identify the breed but if not, that's fine too."

Hiroki "Turq" Allans What did it look like? Turq thought. "It was...big. Tall. And, spotted. That's all I remember....I'm sorry. I know there are lots of dogs like that. But, this one was really tall." Turq finished his pancakes and tea before stretching. "I think it's collar was spiked."

"There's no need to say sorry. Every little bit of information helps. Something you think totally insignificant may turn out to be a big clue" Julius told him kindly. He stroked his hair for a moment. "I'll get my tablet and we'll search images of large spotted dogs and you can see if you recognice the sort of dog it was. Remember he will have seemed bigger than he really was to you because you were so small, though. Maybe he was a Dalmation or a Harlequin Great Dane." He finished his pancakes and then got his tablet from a drawer in the bedside cabinet. "Okay. Big spotted dogs."

Hiroki "Turq" Allans Turq smiled, glad the clues hegave could be helpful. He settled next to Julius as he searched dog pictures. He looked at the pictures as they were scrolled through. When he saw a dog that looked like the one he remembered, he sat up and tapped the picture. "This one. Only, it's ears were floppy and not pointed."Puppy Peter Floppy-eared Harlequin Great Dane. 3nodding

"A Harlequin Great Dane. Well done, Turq, you clever boy to remember that! I'll save the picture. That's a big clue, especially as they're rather unusual dogs" he told him, saving a copy of the image in his files. "You know, most people who have lost a loved one without a body every being found - they appeal for information every now and then even decades after they disappeared. And sometimes set up a special page Online for them. We could search for something like that with the parameters we have. Just google something like 'Harlequin Great Dane Missing Boy' or something. See what comes up."

Hiroki "Turq" Allans Turq gave a broad grin at the praise, feeling like some sort of award winner or something. He was happy to have done something. It was a great feeling to remember something that could bring him closer to finding out who he was. But, then he frowned. He suddenly felt...bad. Turq listened to Julius as he spoke. Well, half listened. After a few minutes, he snapped out of it and gave a smile that was clearly forced. "Let's look later. I want to...help in the lab or study. When are the things you ordered for me coming? Is it too early for the delivery still?" He was trying to put off searching the internet all of a sudden. Turq got the feeling he wasn't going to like what he found. Maybe it was a feeling caused by nerves, or his memory telling him to forget it. Whatever it was, he felt he wasn't entirely ready yet. "How far is the nearest town? Do you think we can go there sometime? I wonder what it's like~."Puppy Peter Yeah. I'm trying to convince Chris to get one for us. heart

Julius kissed Turq in the head. He switched off the tablet and put it aside. "It's okay to be nervous. It's a very big step, a frightening one" he replied. "It isn't anything we have to rush into. Whenever you're ready to take the next step, fine, if ever. I thought about trying to find my parents for a while a long time back, it was both exciting and frightening. In the end I decided against it though. I thought...they gave me up. They'll have whole new lives now. I'm probably a mistake they want to forget. So I never bothered. I burned the file the care home gave me." He looked at his watch. "They said between 10 am and 12 noon. It's just after ten now so they could arrive any time. And the nearest town is about four miles down the road, more a village really but it's got most things you'd need. How about you sit out in the garden and watch for the deliver van?"
