Sabastian's Flakes tingled with activity as he picked up his head from his dreaming state. Glancing around he noticed at first the extream lack of his family and he paniced. Standing up he glanced about while sniffing some at the ground before begining to follow where his flakes and nose told him to go.

((Before Issa and everyone else grew...))

Issa pinned her ears and glared at her sister.
"So what if something is wrong?" She snapped. "So what if I'm upset! I don't care if you want to know! No one really cares! Not mom or dad! Adit gets attention because he sneaks out! So do you! But you don't really get in trouble! You're the special one! You and Adit because he grew and he's like daddy! And you're like daddy because you can do the not-seen trick! Even Hin is a DreamWeaver and can talk to other animals! I'm just normal! And I hate it! I HATE IT!"

Without another word she spun and threw herself into the nearest sea of tall grass, running as fast and as far as she could, away from her sister, her brothers, her parents and Pride. She didn't ever want to stop running... She just wanted to get away.

Stopping near dusk she slid to the ground and shuddered. Her coat was still damp as she had followed different rivers and streams to prevent anyone from tracking her, splashing up the path of the water also soothed her aching paws. Now as she lay under the stars in an area she had never seen, she shuddered from cold, and was hungry, and scared.
But mostly she was so tired she didn't even feel the pains, and when she could stop crying, she slept. A deep, nightmare filled sleep.

Akitana strode through the Lands of Dawn's First Light, searching for her cubs. She had found Hinhallow easily enough, for he had been wading in the shallows of a riverbed, and promised not to go far, but her other three children were still missing.
Beginning to get very upset, she started calling aloud for them, and wishing her mate would come help her find their children.

Having been already patroling his lands, Sabastian heard the sobbing of his daughter before she had fallen to sleep. From a distance he watched her and sighed. Figuring that her crying was something that was usual he very slowly approched the young cub and laid down near her, and licked along the lenght of her back. Placing his forpaws along either side of the young girls body he rested his head protectively over his daughter and rested as she slept, hoping that his presence would help in scaring away the young princess'es nightmares away.

No longer caring what her King would say, the black liger slunk through the grasses of the Pride. She had followed her heart and the South Winds guidance to here. Maybe here she could finally allow her thoughts to settle and the vision quest could end. The warm breeze of the South Wind flowed happily around her, ruffling her fur like a mother's touch.

A mother... She still yearned to see Leanna free. There was nothing she could do though. That was why she was here, doing something.

"Adit..."

A foreign set of eyes watched the father-daughter pair from a distance, tucked neatly away in the cover of a bush. His coat, dark blue, had a way of blending in as night crept into the land; but the jeweled patterns on the kitten's coat were another story entirely.

Not that he planned on staying hidden for long. No no, that wouldn't do at all! Confident as Jericho was he could survive on his own (a few lost pounds aside), what sort of lion would he be to deprive the world of his glory for any -real- length of time? It would be a crime! (That, and it was a little hard to keep his ego boosted when there was no one to boast to.)

Yes, this would do just fine. He'd just plod over and see if that lion there was the king or not. There wasn't any question in Jericho's mind that he'd be accepted. He was, after all, -him-. Who wouldn't want someone so glorious in their pride? It wasn't every day someone so unique came along. So long as he didn't end up jealous like so many others had, Jericho was sure there'd be no trouble at all.

Nodding satisfactorily to himself, a confident smile made its way onto the kitten's face as he emerged from his hiding place and began to approach. "Hi there!, " he called, friendly as could be. "I was wondering -- "

Unfortunately, he'd been so busy bolstering himself up for his grand introduction that he hadn't really taken the chance to actually look at Sabastian. Jericho's eyes suddenly went wide as saucers.

Was that lion glowing?? Not only that, but... Jericho could see right through him! "HOLY CRAP, YOU'RE A GHOST!, " he yelped, right before ducking back into the bush again.

Adit lifted his head at the sound of his name being called. Confused at him being called by someone not of the pride he got up and started to head towards the voice, through the little stream that was close to where he had been sleeping.

Finding the lioness he tilted his head and sat near her, "May I help you Blaze?" he softly purred while looking at the lioness.

Lifting his head at the sound of the greeting, Sabastian glanced over to the cub that called out for him. At the cub's reaction and shock mixed with a bit of fear very softly and calmly he called out to the cub, "It is alright... I won't hurt you my dear little one." Sabastian tilted his head while staring into the brush that Jericho hid into.

Moving his muzzle down close to Issa's ear, he softly whispered to his daughter, "I'll be nearby my sweet dear, I'll be back." he smiled and lightly licks the girls cheek before standing and very slowly moves to the brush where the other cub vanished to.

"You seemed to have desired something little one. May I assist you?" he very calmly stated while gazing down to the cub with a soft, friendly face as he waits for the cub's responce.

'I won't hurt you my dear little one.' Wasn't that exactly what a freaky ghost thing was supposed to say right before it tried to gobble up the hero?? His dad had told him that story a bunch of times!

Jericho flinched as the transparent face of the ghostly lion came back into view. He didn't look like he was attacking and trying to devour his soul or anything yet, though -- maybe if he played his cards right, he could get out of this? The cub knew running wouldn't do a lick of good. Ghosts were supposed to be able to float around really fast so they could scare folks better, right? Man, he would've paid a whole lot more attention to those ghost stories if he knew he was ever going to run smack dab into one!

"Um, um, um... yeah, I, er... " Jericho cleared his throat, trying to regain some semblance of composure. Easy, easy. It was just a ghost, right? Someone like him could totally handle this!

-- JUST a ghost? Who the heck was he kidding?!

"Er, I was um... going to ask if you had a pride, since I sort of looking for one to join, but, um... if you're a dead guy, you probably don't, right? Or if you do, it's a bunch of dead guys too...? And I sort of like living and stuff, so um... yeah... please don't eat my brains or anything, Mr. Ghost... sir... thing?" He cringed. Oh, yeah, THAT came out great. Some hero of the story he was turning out to be!

'if you're a dead guy' rattled through Sabastian's brain as he blinked. That had most definentally never been something that he had EVER heard in his life. "You seem to have me mistaken. I am very much alive little cub. My name is Sabastian, and yes This is my pridelands. Though right now it is just myself and my queen and our children, but it is still something starting." He smiled warmly while starting to lay down so his head is on the same level as the frightened cub.

"As for being a ghost, yes I am a ghost.... Brains? ech god no, I prefer fish. And as you can ask my dearest Queen, I am very much alive." Sabastian smiles while softly chuckling. Turning his gaze to his daughter off in the distance he then added, "Infact if I were dead, would I have any children? As a matter, You see that lioness over on that hill?" he smiles while pointing over towards Issa while continueing, "That sweet little lioness over there is my eldest daughter Issaria."

Jericho blinked, looking from Sabastian, to Issaria, then back at the ghostly lion again. "Waitwaitwait -- but how -- wuuuuuh?" That didn't go along with anything he'd been told! "But... my dad always told me ghosts were dead things; like, lions who couldn't get everything they wanted done or something before they died, so they came back. Then they fly around eating other lion's brains and sneaking up on nasty cubs at night. But if you're not dead, then how -- "

The cub slumped a bit, looking confused as could be. None of this went along with the stories he'd been told!

Sabastian softly chuckled and then smiled to the confused cub. "You see, everything in this world is different and very much unique. Just as my sister is special like I am." He commented with warm eyes. "Alot of people believe that those of us who are special are evil because they do not understand us. Though There are some ghosts that are of the dead, I am very much alive, living, breathing and with a beating heart just as you are." He stated while glancing up to his daughter once more to make sure she was okay.

"As to scaring small cubs, At times if my own wander off it does come in common to find them. Though if you wish more truth as to how I'd never be able to hurt a fly, you could speak with the rest of my family small one." Sabastian finished while very warmly smiling to the cub.

"Oooh, I get it... I think...?" So he was just a special sort of living dead ghost. Or, er, not dead. Just a dead thing that wasn't dead, and he wasn't dead because he was special. Something like that. "Sorta confusing, but... I think I believe you."

He puffed out his chest a little, grinning back at the lion as his confidence began to return. "I can totally understand the troubles that go along with being different. I'm special too, y'know -- not in the same way you are or anything, but I'm definately special. Anyone who doesn't like you for that just makes them jealous, and lions like that aren't worth talking to, " he said with a sagely nod. "My dad taught me that too."

Sabastian chuckled just a bit at the cubs reaction, hopefully the cub truly did understand what he had said, but Sabastian couldn't have been fully sure of what was going on in the minds of other lions. Though with a smile, he tried to bring the conversation back around to what the little lion had originally stated before running away with fear by asking, "So dear little one, you were wondering something?"

"Oh, right!" Jericho cleared his throat, sitting up just a little straighter. This was a big, important moment after all. Had to do it right. "My name is Jericho. I've been going around by myself for awhile now, but a solo-lifestyle just doesn't suit me at all. So do you think I could join your pride?" The cub paused, before adding quickly almost as an afterthought, "Um, I mean, please?"

Sabastian listened and then smiled softly, "It is a pleasure to meet you Jericho... I can fully understand about the Solo life because I too was a nomad and untill I met my queen had no desire to settle down." He comments while softly purring. Glancing upwards to the clouds in the sky he smiles lightly. "Joining my pride, I don't think it would be too much of a problem having another set of paws about the lands."

Stretching just a bit Sabastian lightly nodded to Jericho and then added, "I believe we should be headed back towards the lands, I'll see if Issa wishes to join us and I'll introduce you to the rest of the family."
