"She's almost like me, but her potential for control out weighs my own," I said quickly and quietly before she returned. I watched Amaya for a moment. Was she stronger than me? I doubted that at the moment...but what if...heh.

"I'll go and get something to clean this place up," I stood up and bowed, "Sayanora Sensei Kai." I backed away for two steps and then left heading past her and up the ladders onto the main streets of Seireitei.

I knelt down beside Kai, where Kenji had been only a moment ago. I'd smiled at him when he left, but he hadn't replied, perhaps he had missed it.

"You haven't changed a bit," I said absent mindly, "Still taking charge of what ever situation you desire." I said quietly. I wasn't really talking for enjoyment but rather to comfort my nerves and my heart which was beating ten to a dozen a second. I read once more from the book and began.

"The first ray in the morning, the second scorch in the evening, and the third star at night: The third healing art, Innocent binding." I said and pressed my hand against Kai's chest and let my energy combine at my finger tips, forming a sort of bandage of pure reiatsu across his flesh. The Reiatsu field expanded running down the wounds and sealing them together neatly. I didn't quite understand how I was doing this, other than just reading from the book and following it's instructions. I flicked back a page.

"The first healing art: Heal!" I said pouring more reiatsu into it, I couldn't understand at the moment, why I had to hold my power back as much as the book was saying, but apparently, it was to prevent further wounds to both patient and myself. The wounds sealed.

Kenji had given her the first grading I had given her when I had first assessed her. That was good, because it meant that she would have to work hard. I was glad however to figure out that she wasn't useless with Kidou at all. Her control with healing kidou was adequete.

I sat up sharply. What the hell had I been dreaming about again. I needed to find out thus more studying was in order.

"Good," I said admiring her handy work on my body. I hadn't truthfully expected the finishing Kidou either, I had only flicked through the book briefly before selecting it. I stood up.

"Go and find Kenji, and help him find the cleaning equipment, help him clean the place up," I said and walked a few steps forward and then stopped again. I turned my head slightly towards her, "Thanks." I said and carried on to the books.

I picked one up on Kidou control and started reading it again.

I flicked through the book a few pages. This was...a different book. I looked at the book again. It was still Kidou control, but written by a different author. Gorinosho Ichi. This book was entirely different. The methods were...unique.

No longer did it tell me about making form with my Reiatsu but rather choosing when to have Reiatsu exist and when to have it not exist. However, if the concepts in this book were even possible...then it would mean that my Reiatsu wasn't energy we used at will, but energy that provided out substance. It was hard to understand, but in essence it was explaining that the mind was the most powerful tool to harness the power. Then it started to explain different points in the body where Reiatsu tended to congragate.

"Reiatsu nodes..." I mumbled, "Impossible." I followed up with. It just wasn't even possible. Reiatsu was something inside you that you could use when controlled around the body...wasn't it. Yet...this book even showed me diagrams and when I started to mold the Reiatsu inside me I found that it would be easier to use these points as focal points. I started to study them, this would then mean that Reiatsu has a weakness.

I flicked over another page...no weakness. The nodes didn't provide a source for Reiatsu, but rather an emergency supply and couldn't be controlled at all. Then...they existed, but we couldn't use them. I scanned the page and the following chapter.

I started to come up to pages that led me to believe that there was a whole new side to Reiatsu that the other book hadn't even hinted of. The closest thing I could compare it too at the time, was music, it could be tuned, the rhythm changed, and the tempo altered. I started to wonder whether I could use this as control.

I looked through the book some more. I came to realize that even though this was a higher level of control, you needed to have a certain standard of control that was way above my own. Perhaps Yamamoto would find it easy going...but to me, this was hard...very hard. Which meant, i'd have to keep it from Kenji and Amaya for a while, at least until they were ready.

Perhaps another lesson in basic control was in order. I frowned, basic control. Kenji and I had passed that bit, quite clearly, then again, Amaya deserved the righ to catch up. I glanced down at my arm. She'd already caught up with Kenji. Although she probably didn't know it yet. I had always known that she had a sense of control within her. The power that she held, although untamed was most likely down to the rigourous training in the depths of Rukongai.

I picked up the original book of control and studied it carefully. This could end up being quite the challenge. The last page in the book told me about how to sense Reiatsu, how to tune my Reiatsu...hang on...wasn't this leading to the next book? Telling me how to tune it into other Reiatsu's to detect them. I closed my eyes for a moment.

The book told me to close my eyes and build up my Reiatsu like before, and thus I did. Then it told me to focus not on myself but on everything around me. I had to see everything around me, yet I had to see nothing around me. Now...i was confused. Though the instructions on how to do this were simple. Meditate, and try to feel Reiatsu. Spirit Energy. I raised my hand slightly in a vertical position just in front of my chest, and began to calm myself.

"Everything, yet nothing," I said and began manipulating my Reiatsu. It hurt at first because my Reiatsu wasn't used to moving in this pattern, but it stabilized soon enough and I started working on seeing everything, senseing Reiatsu. I could see the basics of Reiatsu, and differences in Reiatsu, I had sensed a difference in my Reiatsu to Amaya's, and Kenji's.

'You see the path don't you.' The voice said. I frowned. I recognized the voice though. I nodded.

"It's hard to walk," I replied.

'Why don't we work together,' The voice said.

"I can do it on my own,"

'Yes, but you don't have to,' I remembered what she had said before though and decided what the hell.

"I have to trust you don't I,"

'With your life,' The voice came.

"So be it," and with that final sentence I felt my Reiatsu combine with my Zanapakuto. I opened my eyes, "Waraku..." I muttered. I took the hilt of my Zanpakuto and drew it up holding it. I was no longer who I was just a sheer moment ago...now I could trust...myself. I could feel everyone in Seireitei, all the power, the Reiatsu was overwhelming. Then i stopped seeing and lowered the strength of my Reiatsu.

"Come Waraku, there are things we should do," I said and sheathed her. I headed up to the academy. Although not to the academy, but rather, to the old sensei.

I set the cleaning equipment in the centre of the room. The room was completely bare except for the patterns on the walls, a testimant to Sensei's control and power. To create something so large, so immaculate, so quickly was unheard of...at least not to me.

"Damn he's good." I said in awe and then grabbed a bucket of water from the Aquaduct and got it ready and waiting. First we'd have to brush it out, and get the worst of the dust out first, and then scrub the place clean. Then again...getting a lantern or two in here wasn't so much of a bad idea.

I looked back for Amaya and caught sight of her, "Hey Amaya, i'm going into to Inuzuri to get hold of a few lanterns it's pretty dark in there. Meanwhile, use one of the torches off the walls." I gave her a form of salute as a goodbye gesture and then disappeared down the aquaduct tunnels into Inuzuri.

"Wh..?" I said as I walked in and he walked out. I shrugged. It was time to start cleaning and who better to start than yourself. I grabbed the book that Kai had asked me to use on him.

"The first ray in the morning, the second scorch in the evening, and the third star at night: The third healing art, Innocent binding." I said quietly positioning my hand on my arm and concentrating just as the book told me to. My arm was feeling better but...it was still not enough, it still ached. I was thankful that the byakurai had only torn through ligaments instead of bone. I moved my shoulder in circles before putting the book back and getting to work quickly.

I didn't exactly know where I was working, because it was quite dark, yeah I had the outside torches giving me a bit of reference, but all I was doing at the moment was sweeping the place out. Where was Kenji, wasn't he back yet?

I sighed and carried on sweeping the room.

I finished up with getting the worst of the dust cleared and out of the small room. I grabbed the bucket of water and a brush and started scrubbing the floor.

It was pretty easy actually considering I used to do this alot before, then again, I hated it. Why did I not mind now then? I sighed to myself and carried on scrubbing away under the minimal light that I had.

Kai appeared in the shadows underground, he'd been reading up ever since he got back and studying hard in his breaks between his own personal training methods. He'd distanced himself from the group training harder and harder, now he was focusing not just on his reiatsu, as he walked into his small classroom, but also his form and control his technique. He hated to use Waraku and he was trying to find a method of awakening Shikai without touching her. He tossed a ball upwards and fired a weak Byakurai at it exploding it into hundreds of flower petals.

"Weep waraku and balance with yin!" Kai said without emotion nor fear in his voice, he just held up his hands infront of him, one hand above the other as if holding a small ball. He focused his reiatsu awakening his Zanpakuto and his soul at the same moment. He couldn't touch his Zanpakuto to awaken his Shikai as was the custom but he had to use his mind, if he had a sharper mind, a stronger mind, he believed he could beat anyone at any came. The petals fell around him, they slowed down once or twice but returned to normal pace. He spun round creating a whirl that allowed them all the rise back to the top again before begining his focus once more. His Shikai would be stronger and faster than anyone elses if only he focus...

He found himself once more in that forest, in the forest made of ice the girl this time was standing just by the waters side.

"Waraku-san," Kai spoke clearly and the girl turned around and smiled brightly before coming towards him.

"You're trying to do the impossible Kai-sama, you need to be able to weild me in order to control our Shikai," Waraku said. Kai shook his head.

"I don't believe that," Kai replied and stepped backwards, "Our training has brought us this far, and my experiences not only in the tower, but in the Cave have lead me to believe that nothing is impossible...just more difficult."

"Then you are foolish," Waraku said suddenly not smiling. Kai turned to her.

"I cannot do this if you resist, why do you resist, you are still my partner and friend no?" However Kai knew what this was, this was his soul, this was his doubt creeping through, doubt that he couldn't do this, a secret belief that he would not allow himself to admit. He knew this, because Waraku was still at his side. He took Waraku from her sheath and plunged it into the girl before him.

"Why? Why do you persist?" The girl said her form changing slightly.

"Waraku and I will overcome all obstacles, we will defeat everything in our path whether that be an opponent, or something from within. I will not allow myself to be defeated, and you will not instill doubt into my mind." With that Kai achieved total focus and when he opened his eyes....

The petals were frozen in mid air and he took Waraku out and sliced every one of them before letting them fall. He hoped that he wouldn't have to use his offensive Shikai in the upcoming tournament because he had no desire to dirty Waraku's blade with blood.

"I think we should go see how Kenji is doing," Waraku said in Kai's mind. He shimmered in mid air and disappeared.

I jumped down. The darkness was inviting, "Come on you two...I don't want to be hanging around here all day unless we're training." I ran forwards. It was strange, but I could no longer feel Kai's reiatsu...at all. Something seemed off...his total disappearence, the influx of hollows. The resistance.

I turned to the wall and put my hand against it.

"Unlock," I murmured sending my Reiatsu into the door. The door shifted aside for me revealing the dome classroom that Kai had created with a blast of his Reiatsu. During a phase in the Han tower while fighting in the first level, i'd try to do something similar, but was met with complete defeat...how was he able to control his reiatsu this much?

I started looking through the books, but there were a number of them missing. That was annoying. I frowned. Some of the books that were taken were quite useful too.

I sat down to start meditating on what to do next. I knew that things would be a little different without Kai, and those two were treating me as if I were their leader now. Damn, I wasn't that good.

"Sorry I'm late," I looked around. Mitsuoki hadn't turned up yet, "So what are we going to do first, or should we go back to the academy for a while?"
PostPosted: Sun Oct 29, 2006 9:27 am

"I think we should head back to the academy, we need to brush up on some of our skills, and I'm sure the Sensei there will be able to help us." With that I stood up and stood slightly cocked, "Well then...let's go, Mitsuoki will catch up later I suppose."

"Yeah good idea...we could teach some of the Academy Students a thing or two as well," I said calmly. Then I headed up with him towards the academy. it would be quite weird to teach, or so I thought personally. Though I did wonder what had happened to Mitsuoki.
