So, what do people think of the latest assualt that the US is doing on the city of Falluja?
I hope it succeds so there will be less insurgents. I am opposed the to the War In Iraq, but the sooner it's done with, the better for the world. We all need to move on from that quagmire. Falluja is the vipers nest for insurgents.
The war is not justified.
You have to look at it from the Iraqi's prerspective.
For example, if the American's decided to invade Canada to "liberate" us from the Queen. Let's say that they invade Toronto....would you let them take Canada without a fight?
Actually, if you look back into history, the war of 1812 was justified by the Americans trying to "liberate" us from Britan. We won the war, but Bush is still using the same excuses from previous American history.
I know the war is not justified. No WMD's, no ties to Al-Qaeda or 9/11, so Bush liberated the people from Saddam is his current excuse. I thought it was a horrible mistake and I am glad our former Prime Minister did not get us involved.
If Americans were to invade any city of Canada, you damn right I would put up a fight. I love this country too damn much to watch it slip away. All I am saying is that Iraq is overshadowing more important issues in the world which need to be addressed urgently, and we should all move on from Iraq. Really, we need to move past this. Although I am grealty opposed to the war (I went to the Iraq/Bush Protest in 2003 in Montreal), somebody should win so we can move past this.
If the troops take over (which they will), it will be a huge blow to the insurgencies. Maybe the US can finally get a firm control and we can move on. However, if the insurgents retain Falluja, it should be a sign the America cannt change Iraq and should quit Iraq. They quit Iraq and Somalia, so why is Iraq different.
