Now that was almost an insult. Teleporting was certainly not easy, even when it came as a natural ability.
"I somehow doubt portals would be basic magic study...and Kaleb was pretty startled when he first saw me do it. So yeah, I really do think so."
Demyx probably sounded a little more bitter than usual, but still! Saying something like that to him was like saying making water dance with a sitar was mere child's play.

Sigh...Riley hadn't meant any harm...he just simply didn't know.
"It's...alright. I don't really get how Kaleb's magic works either. But then again others wouldn't probably understand mine either, and I don't mean the portals..."
Demyx grinned as they made it to the ice cream store, all thoughts of being annoyed banished from his mind.

Explaining stuff was -hard-, and listening to someone else explain something you could supposedly do was even harder. He remembered just how confused he had been when Xigbar attempted to explain the portals to him.
Shaking the thoughts away, Demyx scooted inside the shop and waited for Riley to enter as well.

He walked inside and stretched. "Yea ..." He was glad that he hadn't really been forced to listen to 'explanations' about Materia. Then again he hadn't listened to many explanations in the usual way.

A toothy grin apeared on its facial features, followed by a very large smirk. Though of course, Kaleb couldnt see these.

You may gaze upon myself but you must not whisper a single word to others. Even if they poke and prod and torchure you till the ends of the time, you must not tell." It leaves out the part about some of the others whom have been forced into the change unwillingly, are after it.
"The second condition is one about yourself. Your body shall change, i will not speak of how... but just say that it shall." It also leaves out the part about the pain of the change, oh how it loves these minor 'forgotten' conditions <33.

Kaleb stood completely still aside from his fidgeting hands. The first condition was simple enough, he wouldn't be able to tell anyone what happened. But the second one...
He wrapped his arms around himself in a protective gesture. He liked how he was now, even though he was too small and too scrawny, and couldn't imagine what kinds of changes were involved. He wondered if he would miss the way he was now. But it still seemed like a small price to pay for the strength he had been offered.
"I-I a-agree." He stuttered resolutely. Even though he was scared out of his mind, this was something he had to go through with.

"Come out onto the balcony. Ill meet you there." That was all that was said, the normal music returned to his headphones.
Elsewhere, the creature took off into flight and landed on the roof of the apartment, waiting for the other to come.

Kaleb hesitated a second before turning and wandering back out onto the balcony. His entire body shook with fright, but he kept moving forward until he stood just outside the ratty sliding door. At least he had his music back, which provided some small comfort.

"good morning sunshine" was all the creature said (even though its not morning even~) as it did a backflip off the roof and landed gently on the railing of the balcony. Youd think it would land harder then what it did, but it used its wings to slow the inpact.
Lifting its body up it stood to its full potential, and gave Kaleb a large grin, its prolonged fangs poking out of the sides of its mouth.
"Thou has agree'd to my conditions, So thou shall recieve the power." and with a snap of its fingers, the music on kaleb's headphones shut off completly. While earlier all it did was muffle the music as it spoke, this time it was -completly- off.
