James, noticing Franki's predicament, thrust his hand out toward Ian quickly. "James Potter, nice to meet you mate."

"Ian Jacobson," Ian said, shaking his hand. "Nice to meet you as well." Ian looked back over towards the front of the hall, at Marketa. "If you don't mind, there's a girl that I think I just abandoned," he said to the group and politely excused himself. He walked down and sat across from Marketa. "Sorry about that," Ian said, turning slightly pink.
Franki let out a sigh of relief. "Sorry about him. He's pretty much my brother. When did you meet him, Lily?" Franki asked with general interrest.

Marketa had been absolutely immersed in her own thoughts by that time, staring down at the picture of Yvonne, and running a bony finger down the edge of the moving photo. Yvonne was hopping around in the garden, grinning at the camera and extending muddy hands. She looked up when Ian spoke and quickly set the photo down on the table face up. "Oh, dat's okay, you were talking to a friend, yeah? I don't blame you. I'm quite dull anyway." She shot him another shy smile, her eyes unintentionally cranking up to near unbearable naivety and innocence.

Ian smiled. "You are much more interesting than you let yourself believe," he said kindly. "Who's that?" He gestured towards the photo in her hands. He smiled kindly at her. Ian's dark hair covered a bit of his eyes, though the bright gray-blue showed through brilliantly.

"Well, I saw he was new, and just wanted to see if I could help." Lily looked past James to Franki. "Being a prefect and all," she mumbled. She rubbed her neck. "Well, I gotta go... See ya." she left hurridly.

"Bye bye, Lily-pie!" James called teasingly to the redhead's retreating back. Then he remembered he was planning to stop that.
Marketa looked down, saw Yvonne, and blushed. She had forgotten she was even holding the photo. "Dis is my...sister...Yvonne. She just turned one last summer. Would you like to see?" She knew it was fact that it was strange for someone her age to have such a young 'sibling' and held out the picture to Ian. The photo Yvonne froze for a moment and stared at Ian shyly, then commenced her playing in the azaleas.

Lily paused, then left the Great Hall. She felt the same annoyance she usually felt when he called her those pet names, but also an emotion, like coming home after a long vacation. What was he thinking?! What was she thinking? Lily sighed as she walked past a tall statue. What was happening in her life?

"I would love to see," Ian said with yet another warm smile. He took the picture and inspected the small girl playing. "You said she's about to turn one?" he asked. He looked up from the photo. He wanted to compliment Marketa on such a lovely little sister, but waited patiently for her response instead.
Franki looked at James with an odd expression. "Lily-pie?" she asked. She giggled a bit. She was still tired so she laid her head on his shoulder. "I am so tired. I forgot, do we have classes today?"

"She turned one dis summer, she's now one and four monts," Marketa responded readily. She smiled again, looking down at Yvonne. Her mother said the little girl looked a lot like her, but she didn't see it as clearly as others.
"Nah, it's Saturday Franki, feel free to sleep," James said, stifling his own yawn. Where had that Lily-pie thing come from anyway?

"Lily-pie?" Sirius repeated. "I thought you were still using Franki as jeolousy bait-" Sirius's eyes opened wide. "I-I, did I say jealousy bait? I meant, a serious babe." Sirius nodded, hoping he didn't say the wrong thing. James would kill. James is going to kill him.

Franki snapped her head up. "What? I'm your 'jealousy bait?' Is this how you plan to get Lily?" she asked, now annoyed. She looked over at James. "Is that really the only reason why you asked me out?" She was really pissed now. She waited aggitatedly for an answer from him.
