Ian smiled, twisting his hand so he could hold hers. "I'll make sure that you have a good time," he said. He wasn't interested in that quite yet because he liked her personality and he enjoyed talking to her. Ian grinned at her.
"So, James, who are you going to take? Are you going to ask out Lily again or find someone else?" Franki asked with a slight edge added to her voice. She wasn't exactly happy with him, but she healed rather fast. Franki was practically over it already. She hadn't been surprised that he didn't go out with her because he liked her. Well, he may have liked her, but he didn't like her as much as Lily.

"Yeah, who're ya going with James? We could double date." Sirius was interested. Lily was acting very strange lately. Maybe she would say yes.

James sighed a ruffled his hair. "I dunno. I suppose I could ask Lily, but she'll only shoot me down again. And I know this sounds weird but...I just...don't want it to happen again. I don't think I can take it anymore."
Marketa broke her own boundaries of acceptable emotion and positively beamed at Ian. "Okay, I'm sure I'll have a good time now! Dis is great...well, I should go to de library again. I have so much studying to do..." In truth, she had just come from the library, in which she had been taking refuge whenever she wasn't in class.

"Well, I'm sure you'll think of something, James. I know you love her and eventually, she'll realize that she loves you," Franki said insightfully. Franki stood with her bag over her shoulder. "I'll be in the common room. If Ian asks, tell him where I am, ok?" Franki looked back at Sirius for a moment before walking towards the door.
Ian's grin didn't fade. "Ok," he said, releasing her hand. "See you later."

Marketa stood whilst grabbing her bag, her knees wobbling slightly from both excitement and from weariness. "See you." She shot Ian an unbelievably happy and tired smile before waving and departing for the library. She was so knackered after all the excitement of this morning. She hoisted her bag higher up on her shoulder, not realizing she'd left her picture of Yvonne on the table.
"I dunno Franki," James said desparingly, "She's always hated me. Why would she suddenly love me? Maybe I should just...give up." Those words alone should have shown something was dreadfully wrong. James Potter was not a quitter. James Potter would give up when he was dead, and still try to manipulate those around him to do his bidding until what he desired was done.

Franki stopped walking and turned around, going back towards James. "Hey, I think that she could love you. I think that if you stopped acting like a jock and acted like James then she could see that. Think of who you are and who you should be. Who were you when you grew up? Yes, you played Quidditch and were damn good at it, but you were also carefree. Think of what you would be like if you didn't have to keep up a reputation of a jock. I know that she'll love the real James... when you show her the real James," Franki said.

"That's really wonderful and all Franki, but how am I supposed to know what the 'real James' is, if all my life I've always been the James I am?" James asked, putting his forehead in his hands. He'd just said his own name twice in one sentence. This was getting confusing.

"Yeah, well, um. . . " Sirius coughed. He was confused, and he didn't like it. "How's he suppose to change? Act more sweet? Nerdy? . . . Civilized?" Sirius gasped. It couldn't possibly be! Civilized, no! Not now, not ever, NEVER!

James's head popped up, a mocking sneer on his face. He was glad the conversation had turned away from his love life for now. "Yeah Padfoot, pick one!" He then exaggeratedly pointed at Franki over his shoulder.

"What about you Franki?" Sirius did a bow, and then held out his arm. "Will you be my date?" His face was joyful, happy, and dead serious.

Franki blushed a bright red. "S-sure," she studdered and took his arm. She turned and winked to James, smiling. She turned to Sirius. "So, is there anywhere that you have to go?"

Sirius smiled. Great. Now I have a date to the dance, Sirius thought smugly. "Well, actually, I was going down to the lake, if we don't have classes."

"Ok," Franki said with a smile. "I was going to go up to the common room." Franki didn't want to seem to attached already. That had already blown up in her face big time. "Luckily I'm done with my homework. I can't fail another class."
