A week later and Jess was sitting on the edge of Peter's bed, waiting for Pomfrey to give him the all clear. She had barely gained any weight, mostly due to the fact that she was trying not to eat anything that wasn't absolutely necessary. She did, however, have to have her bottom shirt button undone, but she refused outright to get those hideous maternity robes.

Madame Pomfrey came out, cool as you please, prodded and pinched Peter's arm, and smiled thinly at them both. "You are free to go, Mr. Keyes." She know looked up at Jess. "And Jess...regarding the forms that we discussed earlier. Have both of you decided on what to do?"

"Oh..." Jess looked to Peter guiltily, having completely forgotten about the forms, what with trying to find ways to keep her figure hidden. "We...haven't really discussed it."

Madame Pomfrey's nostrils flared just slightly, and her lip pursed. She'd expected as much. But she was rather disappointed, and felt an almost automatic sympathy for the child-to-be. "Very well. The forms are, if you'll remember, required within 2 weeks. Otherwise, I have no choice but to inform your parents. For both of you," she added, looking at Jess.

Jess flinched a little under Madame Pomfrey's stare and took Peter's hand. "Well, we can figure things out." She looked to Peter with an almost nervous glance. "You still have a bunch of papers to fill out too."

Peter nodded solemnly purely for the satisfaction of Madame Pomfrey, who went away after glaring at both of them once more. Then his face relaxed into a grin. "We can fill them out. They're only forms, after all. They can wait."

"I know, I know." Jess sighed, inching closer to him so she could rest her head on his chest. "I really don't want my parents to find out about this. They'll kick me out of the house and without their financial support..." She shook her head.

"It'll be fine. We just need to have my parents talk it over with them," answered Peter, wrapping his arms around Jess and resting his hands on her stomach. "And it's not as though we need your parent's financial support. I'll be out and working next year."

"That's true, I suppose." Jess looked down at her stomach with a frown. "But what am I to do? I really wanted to at least graduate. I don't want to be stuck at home all seventh year watching the baby and not finishing an education." She sighed. "I could have been Head Girl, I bet."
